Perhaps this is not an entree patrons desire to see served here at The Cafe, but it is hot on the internet menu at the moment so I thought I would take a shot. Anyone have any comments, or should we just stay with the blue plate special?
I myself think jacking up the price on this meal is a big mistake. Of course I realize I am not dealing with 60's people on this topic. With that in mind I will not push this on anyone. Berger and fried you say?

Most of the posters here weren't even born when the D.B Cooper incident happened in 1971 (and I was only five years old myself at that time). However, it is a fascinating case. The FBI recently said that they were no longer actively investigating it, because they have other priorities. They said that, if something new turned up, they'd look at it again. There were quite a few suspects, however, most of them are dead now. If D.B. Cooper is alive today, he must be nearing 80, if not over it. I wonder what would happen if he came forward. Would they arrest him, even after all this time (let's not forget that no one died during his skyjacking). He might get a few book deals.

I really didn't think this would see much traffic due to the time period, but the History station made a big deal about it. I stopped being too interested when they said John List was not DB Cooper. I never entertained the idea that it might be a Vietnam Vet, but that might make sense. I had to wonder if the FEDS after several years figured it out and decided that this Pandora Box should be left closed. Like you said, he didn't kill anyone and if he lived he didn't lie about the money. It was never the issue.

You must mean the recent two part special, D.B. Cooper: Cased Closed?
I saw it, and found it interesting. As I said, I'm one of the few posters who was alive when all that happened. I'm the third oldest poster here (I'm turning 50 this coming October 28th). Only Es and Granny Charmed are older than I am.
John List put America's Most Wanted on the map. List killed his whole family in 1971, and then disappeared for 18 years. AMW profiles his case, this guy makes a lifelike bust of what List would look like at that time (1989), and boom, they catch him!
He got sentenced to life in prison and died there in 2008.
