If you could re-add elements from the unaired pilot in the aired pilot which would it be?

Its been a while, but what I would keep the opening of the pilot the same. But the alternative spell and look of the attic work much better. I would keep the Alternate Phoebe as I feel if they had we would have kept the original charmed ones in tact and season four would be vastly different as they wouldn't need to rush storylines hoping the show wouldn't tank.
Even if Charmed turned bad later on it would've still produced five incredible consistent seasons instead of four.

Actually believe it or not, I actually wouldn't have minded if the original Phoebe actress had maybe played Paige. Of course I know many other actresses I would of like to see play Paige than Rose. As for the unaired pilot, I have only seen it once. So my memory is foggy on it. But if we never got Alyssa, then I think the show would be less light hearted and more darker without Alyssa's presence. But yes, four or five seasons with the originals is better. Sometimes it is good to end on a high note.

Oh yes. While I think Alyssa did a good job, her performance and bored impressions were old by season six. I feel Lori wouldn't have demanded character control instead leaving that to the writers and gave a better performance over all.
Also I feel she wouldn't have flight with Shannon, would they have been friends, who knows and as long they showed up ready to do their jobs I'd be thrilled

But maybe Lori would of been better in the long run. We just never know how it could of played out right. But maybe this set could of stuck around for the long run. It is just so hard to judge Lori after one episode, she may have grown into her role and been way better than Alyssa. But If it were Alyssa who had left. What if they cast Lori as Paige. I can see her as Paige as the only child.

Like you, I enjoyed Rose's performance in season four and five. While she was very relaxed in the last three to the point it felt like she was phoning it in. Lori on the other hand, hard to judge, seemed full of energy and taking charge. I could see her as Paige. It may even help those who didn't see her as the babysister type as Phoebe. A single child who didn't need to be the baby and ready to take the world by storm. Which naturally would leave the other two in the same positions we enjoyed before the switch up.

I never considered Lori in the role of Paige. Can't remember much from the unaired pilot on if I liked her or not with what she did. Like you guys, I liked Rose in the role in her first couple of seasons. But again she never wanted to stay in the role for that long, and you can tell.

I can't see anyone playing Phoebe but Alyssa. She brought an amazing energy to the character even in the first episode.

It is really hard to think about Lori playing Paige, but I guess she could of done well in the part dears. But we all know that never would of happened, since she left after the pilot due to personal reasons for her religious beliefs.

Is that the reason They didn't keep her?

Excellent question! The only thing I would tweak is Phoebe remaining the one to inspire all three of them to say the "power of three" spell instead of Prue. It's so out of character (for me, personally) for Prue, in the beginning to be taking charge (so quickly), and Phoebe not knowing how to defeat this Warlock or w/e (when, she stayed up all night, thumbing through the book). That always bothered me about the differences between the unaired pilot vs the actual aired pilot. Was unaired pilot Phoebe was the one who encouraged them to say the "power of three" spell and not Prue. I felt that was more appropriate, and I'm not sure why they decided to have Prue say it, this time around. I always pretend it was Phoebe who encouraged them to say the "power of three" spell and not Prue. EDIT: More reasons why it's important, for me, for Phoebe to be the one who knows about the spell is because she was the only one (out of all three them) to be open to the world of magic and thinking it's cool and knowing what to do next. In the unaired pilot, it was believable, for me, for Prue to be scared of seeing such a creature, for the first time, and at the end coming to the realization, of what she truly is. Just some food for thought EDIT 2: It just doesn't sit well with me, how quickly Prue got over the whole "we're witches, now", when the entire episode showed us how terrified she was. IK I keep ranting about it, but I feel that was the one thing that the unaired pilot did right.
