Paige forgetting about vanquishing the Source

This has been a topic that's been counted as one of fans' biggest proofs that by S8, Charmed no longer cared. But a post at another site shows how it could've been explained:

I remember talking about this on this forum some years back. Paige could have forgotten all those events. If you remember back in season 4 "The fifth Haliwell" I believe it was called. When cole got power brokers to infect Paige and she nearly died. After the brokers took the infection out of Paige her memories were really shot and we don't know how much past memories altogether were affected. It was so bad that she forgot even meeting Karen that day. The amount of events of the prior weeks she also forgot we don't know. And it could of included not remember fighting the Source three episodes earlier in Charmed and Dangerous.

Phoebe: Hey, Karen!

Karen: Oh, I'd hope I'd find you here.

Paige: Do we know her?

Piper: Oh, your memory really is shot.

Hmmm no I don't believe that at all tbh, she would have remembered such a huge event like that, and surely someone would have reminded her, not to mention a few episodes later when they vanquished Cole she knew the spell and everything. So that theory can't be correct.

I've always believed that Paige forgetting she vanquished the Source with Piper and Phoebe was down to bad writing on the writers parts or she somehow banged her head badly off screen and forgot that way.

This is the work of bad writing for sure.

Piper: We gotta hurry. Leo's in trouble.
Paige: Well, how are we gonna stop the Source if we have no potions?
Piper: It's gonna take a lot more than potions.
Paige: How'd you do it last time?
Piper: Not the same way we're gonna do it this time.
Phoebe: You have a plan?
Piper: Yeah, and it starts with Mandi.

Definitely bad writing. If the theory Paige has memory issues were true, she wouldn't be asking you did you vanquish him last him last time This makes it appear Paige wasn't even around when the Source was killed and was some alternate universe where Prue was alive and they killed him a different way. LOL


I am sorry, but I do not agree with this theory at all. Maybe to solve these problems, we should pretend a majority of episodes are all set in different continuities to each other. Each episode one of many different timelines. LOL It isn't like they had a clear idea of keeping things consistently each and every week.

Definitely bad writing and too many authors at one show, so to speak. That's why this mess appeared, especially in the later seasons. *double sighs*

It's not actually such a bad episode but because of the spoof its one of the worst episodes of the series.

No. I think that was originally supposed to be Billie's line and Rose cared so much by that point that she didn't change it and since no one else cared, no one else noticed. Charmed *so* should've ended with Season 7 if not earlier!
