Yes, Es they can.
It's certainly been a strange week with other people going beside Carrie and Debbie to what with George Michael and Status Quo's Rick Parfitt.
Must be a record or something with all the celebs gone this year then if you count Mahommed Ali, Gene Wilder, Alan Rickman, Prince, David Bowie and Anton Yelchin also.

Melissa, it is a record year according to the BBC and a few other sources. I wondered if it was just social media that made the deaths more prolific, but sadly it isn't. Many of them weren't even 'old' by today's status when it comes to age, and so many of them have been shocks--Alan Rickman, David Bowie, and Carrie Fisher the most notable for me.
Sadly, I see 2017 being worse with so many icons just getting older (and we all have to die at some point).
RIP Debbie, Carrie, and all the others who have been taken from us.

There will be a joint service for them both apparently which makes sense cost wise and people going to the service wake etc.
