I felt she did think of magic as a gift and she felt it would make her child more prepared. But then again I'm in the minority believing Piper made a better big sister than Prue ever did.

Do you think that with all the chemsitry that was happening with Cole and Prue in Season 3, that Prue was supposed to be the Queen of the Underworld originally?
I was just thinking that Prue may have bargained with the Source to swap with Phoebe. Prue would have become evil (like in Ms Hellfire and Bride and Gloom for example).
Prue also massively sinned in AHBL by hurting innocent people - she could have transitioned through becoming a bad witch too.
Also, at the beginning of Season 5 there was a script that was dropped for an affair between Paige and Cole - was this supposed to be Prue? Enter the Demon alluded to this too.
I wonder if Enter the Demon was meant to be a body swap between Phoebe (trapped in the underworld) and Prue. That would have made sence

I really dislike the idea of an affair between Cole and Prue, but I do like the idea of Prue's allegiance with good being tested. A lot of the stories that happened with Phoebe were easy in a way. Like, of course the youngest with the weakest moral compass would fall for the demon and become evil. But if it happens with the more traditional, strait-laced oldest, that's a lot more unexpected and speaks to a side of Prue we haven't seen before. It also allows Phoebe to grow up more if she's fighting to save Prue and bring her back to good.

I wish that they had gone that direction. Keeping the original set of sisters fighting for their sisterhood

One might chalked this up as Piper's typical aggressive "let's just kill her" personality.. However this in an instance where I kinda side with Piper's mean cynicism. I mean look at when she lost Prue, she literally lost her sanity, was willing to become a fury and go on a demon kill rampage. It makes sense Piper would just want to end Phoebe being evil to rid herself of the problem and how she's projecting her failure into rage and wants that failure gone. That scene where she's at the bar and reflects on her failure as the oldest sister is her come to the self realization that she did a poor job.

I think that she reacted that way BECAUSE of losing Prue. She experienced such pain and grief when Prue died, that even the thought of losing Phoebe as well so soon after sent her into drinking and "fight" mode. Where it was easier to see Phoebe as the enemy who was meant to be vanquished than as her lost sister. Think about it, Piper was already hardening up from losing Prue, but losing Phoebe as well tipped her over the edge, she lost it, hence the reaction she had. I think it makes sense. I, definitely, agree with this. To go into it a little deeper, I don't think Piper is "right", necessarily, but I do understand where she's coming from, and Phoebe didn't quite communicate well with what she was dealing with/going through.
