Maybe Prue got from the past the idea to change work
A Phoebe's bad habit, fall in love with bad guys

This s episode is revealing for Prue, it reminds her the old passion for photography Prue'ld seem to be greatly influenced by the time: the vision of a future where she was super powerful and rich, made her almost reckless, news of a past as a successful photographer gave her the courage to work as a freelance
But this episode was supposed to warn Phoebe from her tendency to trust everybody, as Piper Phoebe didn't turn in Long Live the Queen, she naively tried to maintain a truce between Good and Evil but, again, she fell in love with a man for her absolutely misbecoming

I would've liked to have seen Prue's passion for photography showcased more actually before she quit Buckland's because it felt weird to me how she just suddenly went into that profession with no prior knowledge or reason of it till after this episode when the writers could've had her take pictures as a hobby in her spare time perhaps with the dark room in the basement from the get go which would make more sense then when she went into that afterwards.

This may be off topic from what's being discussed here but what always bugged me in this episode was Phoebes attire in the beginning. She attempted to come downstairs twice in what looked like a housecoat wearing what looked like lingerie underneath while people were partying downstairs. The first time she hid at the top of the stairs while talking to Prue and Piper, but the second time she walked all the way downstairs before realizing no one was actually there. And on both times she didn't even bother to tie her robe. Couldn't understand why the writers wrote than scene in that way.

Agree. Prue picked up that hobby quite quickly all of a sudden. But maybe because phoebe told her she was a successful photographer in a previous life motivated her to try again, knowing she loved it when she was younger. To her it was a sign
