In light of recent discussions, if you could have three key writers remaining on Charmed for its entire duration apart from Brad Kern. Which three would it be? Note: It has to be someone who was in the show from the first season or at least came in during the early seasons. So which three would you all pick? Also a bonus question for fun  If Brad Kern had been demoted, lost his power or WB had forced Charmed to hire another writer to be co-showrunner starting season 5? Who from your three writers picked would you promote. |

I picked Chris Levinson & Zack Estrin and Sheryl J. Anderson.
For my third and last choice was a toss-up between Javier Grillo-Marxuach & Edithe Swensen. I went with the earlier because I liked some of his episodes.

Me, too. Being more of an editor than a writer myself, I know that most of the credit should go to the writer, not the editor, so I ignored all of the episodes that were simply edited by someone. So much as I love the four episodes Edithe Swenson wrote, a lot more of my favorites are among the ones that these three wrote.

Very funny how all three left after the season Shannen got fired? They lost some great talent.

Voted for Sheryl J. Anderson, Chris Levinson & Zack Estrin. They wrote many of my favorite episodes, and I would be thrilled to see what they do with the show if they remained after season 3. Very funny how all three left after the season Shannen got fired? They lost some great talent. Well, them giving 'Wrestling with Demons' to Sheryl...you can sure see why she left. Besides, Prue always seemed to be her favorite character - probably why I like her. I also would've loved to have seen what she would've done with the characters had she stayed. I'll bet we never would've seen Poor, Poor Pitiful Piper; her little errand boy Leo or PhoeME. I would've loved to have seen what she would've done with Cole vs the Source and with Paige and with Wyatt and Chris and with Billie and Christy. Although I'll bet she would've insisted that Wyatt was Melinda and *wasn't* twice-blessed because those ideas go against the whole idea behind Charmed, so she probably wouldn't have lasted long enough to write Chris or Billie or Christy. |

If Sheryl had stayed on and for that matter dear, Chris & Zaack, We *wouldn't* see the parts of Charmed many fans grew to dislike happening. But I don't think they would of lasted on the show long enough to be apart of the final few seasons.
But being apart of season 4 & 5, I *might* actually have enjoyed those seasons more if we had these three talented writers involved. But I honestly don't know how much impact it would do.

It would probably depend totally on how much freedom Kern gave them, and I have a hunch that wouldn't be much.

Don't I wish these writers attend Charmed's 20th celebrations since Brad Kern will most likely be blacklisted. Just so somebody can ask them what they would have done if they stayed. It would probably depend totally on how much freedom Kern gave them, and I have a hunch that wouldn't be much. Chris Levinson & Zack Estrin are in the lead in this poll. Clearly, this pairing was so missed in the later seasons of Charmed. But with what we know about the writer's room, I don't think Brad Kern would give them much freedom like you said. Most likely these two wouldn't have lasted much longer on the show. |

Chris Levinson, Zack Estrin & Sheryl J. Anderson clearly are most loved here at the Cafe. Although I *actually* would like to hear from some of the writers who wrote many of the later seasons too. Because some of them actually did turn out and write some decent episodes. Even if the ones I liked are from the earlier ones dear and left. Because I *truly* don't think Facebook, Twitter or even Tumblr is a place for them to do it. Here with our little community, I'm sure they will have more fun answering the well thought out questions here. |

Zack Estrin & Chris Levinson wrote so many good episodes and really knew the sisters well. I would have felt comfortable if they took over the series for the whole run instead of Brad Kern.

I'm not sure, but I do think they wrote many good episodes, so it wouldn't be as bad as Brad Kern. Actually, most of my favorite episodes are not even ones written by Brad or Connie. They were good at laying the foundation of Charmed, but I felt most of the stronger episodes were done by other writers. But Brad and Connie were great working together in S1 and wrote some good episodes as a team. |
