OK for Barbas, but Jeremy wasn't up to the job I believe that both Zankou and Cole'ld be a smart Suorce Both Zankou and Cole liked to think things through, be strategic and caculated in whatever they did and they both had a very low tolerance for insubordination and demon stupidity. That's why both preferred to work alone sometimes. If they were the source half the demons working for them would be vanquished by their hand alone. 😊

This is also part of the reason Cole in season 7 would not show himself to phoebe and the sisters. Even though he showed himself to piper, he never told her the truth, that he had really escaped the alternate reality and gave piper the impression they were both trapped there. But it was only piper that was trapped at the time. Cole probably came to the conclusion that continuing to involve himself with phoebe would just keep ending in disaster and it was better to move on and help her move on also. Why I believe Cole had fully escaped the alternate reality? Remember Cole orchestrated the whole event in "The Seven Year Witch", worked with demons to infect piper (he had to have appeared to them) and he was able to give drake new life for a time. And at the end you notice drake could see Cole both while he was still alive and after he died again. So Cole could have shown himself to the sisters and everybody if he wanted to. He just chose not to. Also recall one of Coles powers acquired from the wasteland was the ability to move between realities so after the alternate reality reset in Centennial Charmed he may have reacquired his wasteland powers but chose to just not deal with the sisters anymore I forgot to also mention is that even though Cole may have escaped and been able to go where he pleased, my though is that he may have lost his ability to be corporeal anymore. That is had no physical body. Probably what Drake referred to when he said he wished he could help cole with his dilemma and when piper asked him what he was "ghost poltergeist, nightmare?"

Because Piper was committed Cole was dead
In "The Seven Year Witch" is not clear where, when and how Drake and Cole met, it's only clear that Cole got almost over his unhealthful obsession I still think Cole'ld be a good Source, he worked with the Brotherwood for a long time he was not a lone wolf

Belthazor was already respected in the underworld, why not Cole as the new Source? They did it when it came to the Power broker where he saved Paige, though he didn't want to. Cole was always torn, no matter who or what he was.

If Phoebe wasn't in the picture, absolutely.

No!
Taking out the bad writing. Cole always had a human part. He fought for his father's soul, he saved the kid in S3 AHE. And he was led to much by his emotions.
Take this out. And he would be perfect for the job. But the character as a whole? Never. Now Zankou on the other hand would be a perfect source. Plus the actor has the charm and is very entertaining. He would have brought so much more to the role with better writing.
