Sounds like Dynamite knows their comics version isn't going very far so they're trying manga instead. Okay, what exactly is manga? But reading about it, I don't like it. It sounds like their version of Season 8 with their own Mary Sue as the star and the Charmed Ones as co-stars.

Manga is similar to comics, just more in the style of how the Japanese do them and not how they are done in America. They are usually longer (and shorter in physical height). Usually they are in black and white. This is a discussion on the topic that I found. They seem to say its probably even less than what I said: www.quora.com/What-are-the-main-differences-between-manga-and-comics And by some of the definitions mentioned, it's not possible for Manga to be put out by an American company, because it's an American company and manga is simply Japanese. It's worth a read though if you are really interested in the answer. I'm not sure it answers it, but it gives you a much better idea of what the argument is. And no, I don't think this means they don't have confidence in their story. I think it just goes with the theory that they always planned to tell short little stories rather than longer ones. I think it means we should expect more short stories in the future.

I am fine with short stories, it might be fun to see these instead of a season 11 comic for now. I just hope, they start telling stories with Prue, Piper and Phoebe and not just always doing Piper, Phoebe and Paige years. Too bad they don't consider some alternate universe stories like comics are known to do all the time.

Exact same thought when I read the summary and saw the art cover. While I have watched anime based on mangas like Sailor Moon and Bleach and thoroughly enjoyed them, I don't feel excited about Charmed. I don't know what is with the creators obsession with storylines about the Charmed Ones teaching and taking care of the next generation of non-Halliwell children magic and powers. Even on TV those episodes always kinda tend to be not good. And then going as far as introducing Magic School and later Billie.... Already the story is in comic form with a few pages. Why spend those few precious pages on pointless new characters and cliched storylines? There's already a whole generation of Halliwells past, present and future and even alternate realities to explore. Yet creators continue to disappoint.

Well I might pass on this dears, if it isn't about the Charmed Ones and about some character who are new and all about them, I'll pass. This is basically going to be a story about Billie 2.0. *Sigh* This one sounds just as bad as the comic stories currently out at the moment.
