I have always been wondering if Grams' death was just a coincidence or something more? She'd had her heart problems for a long time and her anxiety and worry over stripping the sisters' powers might have caused a heart attack. But could it have been Elders or Angels of Destiny who actually made it look like a sudden heart attack, while in fact they were preventing her interference with the girls' true destiny?

I could truly see it being any of those, but good question.

Patty did warn grams that it wasn't her choice to make. I think grams was messing a bit too much with destiny and I always thought it was punishment for trying to interfere.
In fact I can totally see someone like Gideon doing something like that. Watching grams, from magic school, cursing under his breath wondering what in the world grams was trying to do. Then lifting his hand and squeezing his fist as grams collapses in a heart attack. Then sigmond looks at Gideon in disbelief and says "was that necessary?". And Gideon replies "That woman was about to ruin everything, the professy, the charmed destiny, all of it!"

Grams wanted to prevent the Power of the Three from being born I also believe that an Angel of Destiny could chime in, there were always likely to do it in the sisters's lives

Grams wanted to prevent the Power of the Three from being born I also believe that an Angel of Destiny could chime in, there were always likely to do it in the sisters's lives But that was just the one in Season Eight who did that. The one in Season Four just gave them their chance to choose their own path. My guess is that it was probably an Elder, especially one like Gideon and his devotion to the Grand Design. They were the ones who kept interfering in the sisters' lives and the ones who needed the Charmed Ones to do their work fighting evil for them. And if killing a child didn't bother Gideon, neither would killing an old lady.

Definitely seemed like something he would do.
