Could there have been one when Prue and Dr.Griffiths died? From what we have seen, a time ripple is a disturbance in time which stops a destined event from occurring and alters the course of history. We know that Prue was never supposed to die and the powers of the Warren line were expected to culminate with the arrival of the Charmed ones. Could Prue's death have changed the course of history by making the Charmed ones weaker than they were supposed to be? Could it have been the reason why Wyatt was born and his powers surpassed the Power of Three? The Prophesy told us that three sisters will vanquish ALL kinds of evil, but the Charmed ones' children still continued fighting demons after the sisters got older. It practically means that the prophesy wasn't fulfilled. What do you think of it?

"We know that Prue was never supposed to die"
Where does it say that? Its reiterated many, MANY times in the show that "everything happens for a reason", going by this logic, Prue was always meant to die. Having said that, the girls quite regularly screw with the angel of deaths' list. So going by that logic, it is possible she could have been saved. But in the situation the sisters were in, there was only one other person there who could have taken Prue's place, and that's Piper, and Prue would have never let that happen. She would have given her life for Piper or Phoebe a thousand times over before she let them suffer.

Interesting theory. But the thing is, the Angel of Destiny and Death maintain the Grand Design. If something was indeed wrong or out of balance, Angel of Destiny wouldn't have offered the sisters a reward for defeating the Source. The Angel wouldn't have even showed his face if the Charmed destiny wasn't fulfilled. He even let it slip that he and the other Angels frankly never believed they would even fulfill it. Which I'm gonna assume that had they not defeated the Half-face Source and later on his essence in Cole and Phoebe's unborn child and all died whether of old age or were killed, the Charmed destiny would've just passed onto the next generation. But luckily only one sister died and there was another to conveniently replace her. It's interesting Angel mentions that they achieved their destiny much earlier than anticipated. So had Prue been alive, they would've continued battling the Source for whole eight years? Maybe never defeat him? I guess with Prue around, maybe Cole wouldn't have gotten possessed which sort of made the Source vulnerable thanks to Cole's love for Phoebe. And speaking of Prue's situation, her name was on Death's list and then came off when she stopped fighting to save the Inspector who was destined to die. Death is supposed to be neutral, but showing himself to her always seemed like him interfering, trying to keep Charmed destiny on track by not having her killed. Perhaps on the request of either Elders or an Angel of Destiny? But there's only so far even Death or Destiny could do about a person. Freewill and all. Phoebe didn't stop fighting when Miles was destined to die and as a result, both her and Paige got killed. Even if Prue wasn't destined to die, certain circumstances happened due to her own actions(going after Shax in broad daylight) which resulted in Piper's death. Then later on when time reversed and there's no Leo to heal, her own death. Even if neither she nor Piper were on Death's list that day. Though I can't help but wonder if Doctor Griffiths was supposed to save Piper's life and that is why Shax was sent after him.

Melinda Warren foresaw three powerful witches, how do we know that the witches she saw weren't Piper, Phoebe and Paige? As we see in The Witch is Back, her visions are identical to Phoebe's, meaning that like Phoebe's, they may not have been very clear at times, she may not have seen the faces and just assumed that when she met them those were the three she saw.

Hm... the fact that they will 'destroy all kinds of evil' sounds pretty impressive, the meaning would be practically to change the whole world of magic or even shift the balance towards good. Which means no warlocks, no demons, no evil priests, no seers, or them being pretty powerless. The Source is only one big bad and it didn't make any sense to me that destroying one big bad would be equivalent to destroying all kinds of evil. It certainly should take more than that. I just finished rewatching 'Witch Way Now' and can't help but wonder if the Angel of Destiny knew all along what choice the sisters would make and it was simply some sort of a test from Powers That Be.

When did Phoebe ever not see clear faces - before Prue's death only? She saw Prue and Piper watching her die. She saw everything clearly especially once she had it under control. And Melinda recognized Prue, Piper and Phoebe. Those were the Charmed Ones. Paige was just a substitute when, as was said, Prue's death (and Shannen's firing) screwed things up and threw the Halliwells into a totally different timeline with a completely totally different destiny - first vanquishing the Source and then protecting the Twice-Blessed Brat rather than protecting the innocent and not punishing the guilty. The Angels of Destiny protected the Grand Design that was never part of the original timeline. This might also be why the Cleaners didn't clean up the exposure of magic that led to Prue's death - they didn't exist in the original timeline and only by letting things go would the new set of Charmed Ones become part of the other timeline.

I just finished rewatching 'Witch Way Now' and can't help but wonder if the Angel of Destiny knew all along what choice the sisters would make and it was simply some sort of a test from Powers That Be. This half-face Source(or perhaps whatever possessed him) seemed different than all other Tom, Dick and Harry wanting to be Source later on. He had been Source for over five hundred years old. So in that many years he surely would've grown president type influential compared to your average joe demon, warlocks and evil creatures. He had to be defeated three times. One in the Half-face Source, then as Cole and finally Phoebe's unborn baby which was transferred into Seer. And what is it about those black soulless eyes that makes even the toughest of demons cringe and bow? They never showed the same level of respect for other demonic leaders wanting to become the Source. The offer to chose one's own destiny does sound like a 'too good to be true' deal. But the Angel would lose all credibility if he offered a reward after everything the sisters went through and if they accepted and he later go on and said, 'Haha. Just kidding dude.' And as the Angel mentioned, they only interfere in the most extraordinary of circumstances. So why leave his comfortable seat of wherever the Angels hang out, freeze the whole world, intrude on the sisters lives and drop such a big bombshell? If it was a test, then the manipulating Elders could've put the sisters through this test. If the sisters were all indeed going to be given super normal lives, then other destinies tied to theirs would also change. Leo becoming normal. Wyatt becoming a normal boy. No half-lighter Paige. No Zankuo no Nexus dilemma. Maybe no Avatars either because Avatars needed the Charmed Ones and Leo to put their plan into motion when Cole failed. And Zankuo was released to stop the threat of the Avatars. If Titans were released then simply let Elders possess some unknown mortals with God essence and they would take care of the problem. Billie and Christy would also be leading normal lives because the Charmed Ones were the reason Triad kidnapped Christy. So with no Charmed Ones, their destinies would be re-written too. As for the whole Twice-blessed thing, maybe the prophecy would still exist but some other non-Halliwell baby and his non-Halliwell time travelling sibling may inherit the burden. But then again Destiny could simply erase that prophecy too or delay it for a later date or something. It seems like accepting the offer would've resulted in a far more peaceful world than continuing on with their powers and demonic burdens. And in a way, killing the Source did shift balance to good. Compared to before, majority of demons who appeared usually were embarrassingly dumb and easily blown up without a second glance.

But The Angel said that whatever decision they were going to make, it wouldn't affect the future of Piper and Leo. Which means there would still be a Twice-Blessed Child. Again, Melinda Warren foresaw only THREE POWERFUL SISTERS, and not just some coven consisting of two male witches and a female one, no matter how powerful they could be. Personllly, I don't believe that you can transfer the Power of Three that easily.

But The Angel said that whatever decision they were going to make, it wouldn't affect the future of Piper and Leo. Which means there would still be a Twice-Blessed Child. This is what he said: Watch the tone and body language of Angel of Destiny as he speaks and then glances at Piper's stomach. Obviously he meant Leo and Piper's baby would be born regardless of whatever choice the sisters made. It doesn't make sense if the Angel means that Wyatt would have powers no matter what happens. Because then that would mean: "Oh yeah sure, you'll completely lead non-magical normal lives and no one will ever come after you. Oh but your baby will be born to be the most powerful magical being. Demons will surely be attacking and trying to kidnap him often. He would also be a danger to the family and to the world if he very to be turned evil. But other than that, you and your sisters will all lead normal happy lives. So...do you accept your reward to give up your powers?" Lol. Doesn't make sense because Wyatt having powers would automatically violate the term of living a demon-free normal life. Now coming back to the time ripple theory: If destiny was cheated with Prue's death, there would've been a ripple inside the Manor. Both Leo and the Elders would've been aware. Or if not, one of the sisters would've stumbled upon it sooner or later. Or with so many vanquishes and spell backfires that take place, the time ripple would've been ripped open. But since none of that happened.... But it is kind of interesting concept if one wants to time travel and has no other way, just save someone who is destined to die.

I have a headache by just reading all of this. But whatever the reason was for Prue's death, it may be the way to get Paige in the family. It'd have been nice if Melinda Warren had come back yet again during this time.

The time portal Leo shoved Chris' head into, could it possibly be created by Chris messing with few destined events? Maybe Melinda Warren should've been summoned to Earth to clear up the prophesy business. But the thing is: Do the trio of Piper, Phoebe and Paige resemble anything like women of strength and grace?

Again, Melinda Warren foresaw only THREE POWERFUL SISTERS, and not just some coven consisting of two male witches and a female one, no matter how powerful they could be. Personllly, I don't believe that you can transfer the Power of Three that easily. If you're not into the interpretation of prophecy being transferred to Paige, or the one where "Melinda didn't see Prue, Piper and Phoebe, she actually saw Piper, Phoebe and Paige", then here's another interpretation. Remember how Cole got Source's powers, but then later was horrified to discover he also got Source's essence thingy latched onto him permanently becoming a part of him? So what if an almost similar thing happened to Paige? But instead of the Source powers and essence, she inherited part of Prue's soul and thus the TK. It's a pretty big coincidence that Paige happened to be born with a whitelighter version of telekinesis, the exact power needed to complete the Power of Three. She could've easily been born with a variety of other powers. And also some things Paige has done have been somewhat Prue-like. Dislike and distrust for Cole. Quitting her job to try to be Super-witch like Prue. Being too overprotective of Phoebe when it came to Cole and Dex. Being there for Piper when Phoebe moves out or becomes Queen of the Underworld or a mermaid. Having a sudden dislike for her biological father yet she leaves her biological mother off the hook for any abandonment issues. Paige also always seemed to be conflicted. As if two personalities inside her fighting or something and hence the whole temp job scenario. After her parent's deaths, she got her act together and got a degree in social work was this independent so sure of herself social worker who could've been Head of the Social Services soon, but a year later into becoming a Charmed One, she suddenly abandons all that for finding herself and identity outside of the sisterhood? Maybe the side effects of merging a piece of soul with another is Paige forgetting how she vanquished the Source? Another side-effect could be Prue's ghost can't be anywhere near Paige. Like how Terra was poisonous to Piper's soul and killing it, maybe that would happen to Paige if Prue comes down from the afterlife. Grams just concocted a lie about Piper having to move on because it would keep Prue alive for her, which is ironic because part of Prue is being kept alive in Paige to make the Power of Three work. Well that's all the crazy theories I got for today

I agree Maybe the Angels of Destiny knew something more or wasted their eternal?! - who knows?- time gambling on the life of the humans, but Melinda Warren prophecy never spoken about the Source
And, as I told in a different thread, the original Power of Three could be enought to destroy the Source, Phoebe almost vanquished alone his best killer
