In my last rewatch I came to really love Paige. I actually didn't like how they handled her romance and marriage at all. It felt so horribly written and shallow. Henry is nice enough, but nothing about it really captured my attention where as I felt like coop had a nice romance to it. By comparison, it kind of sucked. The one thing that fit to me for her character was that she would focus on being a whitelighter. I felt that given her profession (social worker) it would have made more sense to develop that sooner and it would have been more interesting to have her be more of a whitelighter than witch oriented rather than having her go all witch crazy for a few seasons. Whitelighter suits her much better.

I am actually glad they didn't do a storyline focusing on Paiges Alcoholism. That would have been extremely boring and the weighed the show down. Paige had been sober for years before she meet the sisters and she was going to have a relapse it would have been when she discovered she was a witch. If she didn't have it then than she should wouldn't really relapse later on.
Honestly the only Storyline they needed to focus on with Paige was her being a Whitelighter/Witch. The did a few episodes on it but not like it should havfe been done and she accepted her whitelighter half way to late in the gain. They should have brought up her whitelighter Storyline in around Season 5.
We know her Whitelighter side affect her Witch Side so shouldn't her Witch side logically affect her Whitelighter side. I would have actually liked a storyline focused on that. Also to her transitioning into becoming a whitelighter.
As far as her quitting her job I think that was a smart move. Being a social worker is a full time job and so is being a Charmed one and Whitelighter. Paige couldn't be all 3. Even Phoebe and Piper had a hard time with being a charmed one and their jobs.

Whitelighter suits her much better. Paige seemed to have so many failed and tragic relationships. Many being guys she really loved. Season 4 - Shane - got possessed by the Source and he left her. Not knowing what happened but knew it was bad and connected to Paige. Glen - he left to travel the world and she couldn't go with him due to her new sisters. Season 5 - Glen - he got married to someone else. Broke Paige's heart. Before Glen's returned Paige dumped every guy that she was introduced to except Nate Nate - he ended up being married with kids and lied to Paige Season 6 - Richard - she loved Richard but he misused magic and Paige had to strip his powers to help him and she couldn't be around him anymore because being with him meant he'd still be around magic. Paige cried Season 7 - Kyle - he died, was made a white lighter and kept from seeing her. Paige cried also for him Season 8 - Henry - he was good but sort of a rushed relationship

Paige was the star of her own soap opera that was sudsier than Phoebe's. Didn't think it was possible, but it was.
Re: Glen. Glen was always her best friend, but I'll bet it was pure platonic. She wanted him in S4 just because she was the "fifth wheel" to Piper & Leo and Phoebe & Cole. The fact that Glen fell in love with and married Jessie shows he didn't have those feelings for Paige. Paige was always just his best friend, probably the girl next door who he could tell anything to, but didn't have any passion for, while he had passion for Jessie.
Been in that situation, and it hurts, but it's best that she didn't marry him just because her new half-sisters were married. If he didn't feel passion for her and only friendship, eventually he would've gone looking for passion elsewhere. With Henry she had friendship, acceptance and passion, three things she didn't have with any of the others. Like Dan, I don't think Glen would've ever accepted her witch/whitelighter side.
I really wish she could've helped Richard more with his addiction, the way I wish she could've helped Cole more with his stalking.
Otherwise I agree totally.

Not particularily with her alcoholism, but her actual sisterly bonding with her sisters. S6 was really the last season with any sisterly bonding (and, it's not that much, either, but I digress). I think that was the REAL missed opportunity.
