If the nexus was opened by Zankou and destroyed by the "Suxen" vanquishing spell from the Book of Shadows, with the Power of Three while the Shadow was inside Zankou... Was the shadow destroyed as well? The spell was to vanquish the Nexus, which is different to the Shadow. But the shadow resides in the Nexus. But the Shadow was always banished and never vanquished. If it survived the SWTWGoes? finale, could it have possessed or latched on to someone else? I'm thinking like the Source --> Cole/Source analogy and the Hollow also never being able to be vanquished/banished --> The Power of the Shadow must have JUST be banished someone and never actually vanquished. Could the Shadow have possessed Christie or even influenced Wyatt which would have made him evil in the future? Or am I reaching and was the Shadow actually destroyed/vanquished/vanished/banished/depowered.... get my dift?  |

Depends if you believe Kern's version of the Nexus or Burge's. Good point! But if this is Kern's interpretation of the Shadow, then I think it wasn't banished. |

I like to think that the Shadow escaped and latched itself onto another possible Nexus. Because in Season 1, I believe the Professor referred to it as A Spiritual Nexus, not "the" Spiritual Nexus. So taking that info(From Burge)into account, the Shadow went to find a new Nexus.

Well, what the sisters did did nothing to the nexus - since it's a location and not a thing - just the nexus of both the elemental and wiccan pentagrams (nexus is the same as center) on which the Manor was built so the Book of Shadows could be right over it and tap into its power. So you can't open the nexus - Zankou just opened the crack in the floor of the basement that allowed the Shadow (Phoebe's woogeyman) to escape and possess him. Since the Shadow existed directly over the nexus, that's what gives it its power, but since it's just a shadow, it can't be vanquished any more than the essence of the Source can be vanquished.
So when Zankou was destroyed by the explosion, logically the Shadow would've just gone back down into the crack.
Only way to destroy the nexus - destroy one of the five elements that makes up the elemental pentagram which was also a wiccan one.

You can't "banish" the nexus - only destroy one of the elements and that might have been worse on the ecology than the Manor being a battlefield. |
