Hi guys,
So, I'm new here and I hope this board is as active as I think it is.
I am a big Charmed fan since it first aired in my country back in 1999, when I was just 8 years old. I hardly knew any English, and I learned almost every word in my vocabulary from Charmed. The sisters were my role models and the magical adventures they found themselves in each and every week were for me an invaluable source of food for the soul. But what I cherished most about the show, and still do today when I am almost 27 years old, is the Book of Shadows. From the first moment Phoebe discovered it in the old trunk in their attic I was utterly mesmerized. The book represented for me, and must also represent for you, the embodiment of magic, everything I dreamed of as a young boy.
I began copying the spells in a little notebook I had from school, in plain text, just memorizing the rhymes, but soon I discovered my true passion for calligraphy and illustration and began creating a replica of the Book of Shadows when I was only 10 years old.
My father purchased for me plain A4 printer sheets of paper, on which I wrote the spells form the show with, at first, very amateur calligraphy. It was my mother who purchased the calligraphy pens for me, being an artist herself. The book grew in volume and illustrations and with the years I became more and more efficient and skilled in calligraphy and drawing using watercolors. I waited expectantly each week for the new pages the artists would create, immediately sitting by my desk and creating a replica of the pages. I must have copied each page in the Book of Shadows about 10 times until I reached the accuracy I was looking for.
But alas, in 2006 the show was cancelled and the fountain of my creativity, my muse vanished with it. No more new pages, no more Book of Shadows. Just like Grams in "Pre Witched", I put the book in the closet and went on with my life for about 10 years. But in recent years, my passion for the show, for the book, for the pages, was reawakened. I found myself, like many other fans of the show, doing marathons of the seasons, and I even remade some pages 10 years later, and what a difference a decade makes! My abilities greatly developed without me even practicing, I guess it has to do with maturing also.
Why am I talking so much and why should you keep reading?
My biggest dream in life, however silly it might sound to some people (probably not to you guys though) is to know every single word written in the Book of Shadows and as you well know not all of the pages were seen on screen. Now, I know of a lot of pages that were not seen, but there are still some that remain unknown to all, or at least are untraceable online. I hope we Charmed/BOS fans can start a discussion in this board regarding the BOS in general, and more specifically those pages and perhaps the chances of us ever knowing their contents. I mean for example, the entry about Zankou or the Raptor Demon, Daleek and Vicus, and many other pages, including the ones in Latin and Italian.
So, I hope other fans will respond to this message and I am waiting to hear from you on whatever BOS related topic you've got in your mind.
Thanks,
