That is why I would have loved Drake to be with her, Drake was someone that excited Phoebe and brought her back. I wouldn't mind if Dan was a fling but nothing more than that, I would preferred Phoebe to end up with a reformed demon rather than a mortal or a cupid. Oh, if you went from 'Long Live the Queen' straight to 'Carpe Demon' (skipping any mention of Wyatt and Chris or Phoebe's baby-daddy-search - no mention of pregnancies until the last episode when Piper announces she's pregnant - and no flash-forwards) and just let it be a rebound, that would've been so fantastic! It would've brought my Phoebs back! I agree with that. Phoebe would have benefited from a fling relationship before Drake came along and helped her understand what love should be and how it should be presented positively. After Cole, I would have personally loved it if she left the newspaper and opened an occult shop with a new lease on life, with finally forgiving Cole (the man) and herself for the relationship and then moving on. That is when Drake finds her and we find out that he is her soulmate, bringing her out of her shell and allowing herself to love again. With the finale being Phoebe and Drake getting married. |

OMG, I love that even more because I agree that her going straight to Drake would be a bit much. I was thinking that like canon, he can only live for a year (possibly shorter), a perfect candidate for a rebound/fling. But your idea of matching her with Dan (or Coop - or, better, CUPID from S2) for that fling makes even more sense. |

I have always loved the idea that Phoebe would have a fling, it sucks during her younger years that she didn't. Dan was only there since neither of them wanted to be in a committed relationship and just wanted someone to fool around with. I have loved the idea since watching Charmed the first time around that she was meant to be with Drake, someone who brought her out of her shell and made her feel like she can love again. |

And having an occult shop would mean connecting with other witches and covens. LOL, as least the sisters wouldn't have to worry about magic supplies. I think I'd prefer that shop over magic school if it meant connecting with other witches. I always was disappointed the show barely went into mythology of other witches and covens, and instead decided to go jump on the popularity of Harry Potter with Magic School. But Charmed was always like that I'm afraid jumping onto a trend of whatever was popular at the time. Magic School just really took the show in a direction it never needed. |

Phoebe was also kind of naughty and it would have been interesting if she did something black market related or tax evasion or something/ Her good intent being wanting to support her family but the social moral consequences she would face as a human being - rather than as a witch for using personal gain like we saw in the alter seasons. There was something cool about Phoebe's pick pocketing, unconventional-ness and street smartness that the typical 9 - 5 job didnt match her personality with (after all she was the Queen of the Underworld at one stage). I dont know - I would have rather seen Phoebe on her bike going place to place - maybe even holding yoga/meditation/self defense classes/ healing classes/ reiki/natural therapies or chakra cleansing. That would have differentiated her to Paige as a Social Worker in the 9 - 5 context and Phoebe would have been playful, making friends outside the Halliwell family. |

I was watching the episode Heartbreak City. While watching it, I couldn't help but wonder how it would have worked with Phoebe and Dan compared to a single Piper to struggling to heal from her past bad relationships.
I think that would have been interesting and I think Holly would have played Piper really well in those scenes.
I could also see an arc with Phoebe and Dan and her having commitment issues. Dan would sense it and and feel like she is constantly pushing him away.

I would find Dan would react similarly to Jason in S6E13 "Used Karma". Freak out for a bit then calm down later and be like "yeah, I can't do it, but I love you" kinda thing. He wouldn't say to Phoebe what he said to Piper. While, yes I ship Phoebe & Dan, if Dan is only going to be around for 1 season only, I would write him this way and save my Piper character from being completely irritating to watch, this season. |
