I've seen many reruns of older shows in my childhood too. But being born in the early 80s, I wasn't that far behind the era those aired. Of the ones you mentioned MacGyver, I've seen in addition to a few others from the 70s. The older animated shows from the 60s and 70s were ones I grew up with fondly. I loved the older animated shows, too, like Looney Tunes and the Hanna-Barbera cartoons. I was born in the mid-nineties, so shows like MacGyver were already old in comparison by the time I was around five. They had great cartoons back then don't you think. Scooby-Doo, Looney Tunes, Jetsons, Flintstones are classics. I don't watch much-animated shows today, especially ones with a little more violence.

That being said, there are actually some fantastic animated shows coming out recently, like Gravity Falls and Steven Universe. Nice. I've been trying to find a good animated show to watch.

It seems dears were in an era where reboots are the new trend. I'd really appreciate seeing some more original content, but most of the reboots and such are all on network television, while cable television is doing so much better with interesting and unique programming. I don't understand why they don't want to come up with something fresh and new. Secret Circle and Witches of East End failed to last long enough as new witch-themed shows. Probably why The CW is not *willing* to take a risk at doing a brand new show and wanting to cash in on the popularity of another show, thinking this will work better than attempting to do a brand new show. *Sigh* Same. I'd like to see original content, too.
