Anyone here like Harry Potter?

I'm a huge fan of both the books & the movies.

Although I do wish JKR had realised Harry & Hermione's potential earlier.

I haven't read the books but own all the films and have been Harry Potter World in Watford London where they filmed twice which was a great experience.

My mum likes that to and she's 71 actually so no-ones too old to enjoy it I think.

I loved the books years ago. I'm not much a fan now, but I remember them fondly and I still read the occasional Harry Potter fanfic.

I started watching Fantastic Beasts but it didn't grasp me as well as the original verse.

OMG, yes. I love Harry Potter. I love Harry, Hermione, Luna, and Neville.

I like the movies. I haven't read any of the books. But, I've definitely done research on the series.

According to Pottermore (at the time) I've been sorted into Slytherin house, 3 times and Ravenclaw once. This other quiz I took (outside of Pottermore) says I value Hufflepuff traits, but my methods are that of Ravenclaw. I say that's very accurate because I do value Hufflepuff's system, but I certainly don't practice it LOL And, Ravenclaws have always been about the individualism as opposed to the collective, and I'm very much an individual person. Ravenclaws are (also) creative, and I'd like to think that I am, since I'm into music and writing. I am (however) very ambitious, like a Slytherin, though ;P I'm anything but a Gryffindor. I think the only thing I am (from the Gryffindor side) is pride xD

I bet there could be many people out there with different traits from each house so it might be difficult to be sorted into one overall so I guess it would depend on what personalities they may have more of then perhaps.

I like the movies too and never read the books. But only know about the books via reading the HP Wiki, just out of interest.

I think it's based off of where you want to go and not necessarily how your personality works nor what you value. IK Neville told the Sorting Hat to sort him into Hufflepuff, but the sorting knew, deep down inside, Neville really wanted to be Gryffindor but wasn't confident enough to actually be sorted into it. Same with Hermione Granger. She may have small doses of Ravenclaw tendencies, but I think she values/wanted to be in Gryffindor.

If I had to choose, I would pick Ravenclaw, even though I think everyone should strive to be a Hufflepuff ;P

While I don’t consider myself a true “Potterhead” (at least, not at the moment, because it’s hard for me to be super obsessed with multiple things at the same time, and Charmed is obviously my current top obsession ;P) Harry Potter will always be nostalgic for me, as it was the first real movie series I got into growing up. I do love watching the movies, and I’ll stop to watch them when I catch them on TV ☺️

That being said, I do own all the movies on Blu-ray, I have all the books (I was gifted them as a birthday present as a kid ☺️) and read the first two and part of the third one, I’ve been to The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter at Universal Studios in Orlando, and I did get the opportunity to see some of the places Harry Potter filmed when I went to England with my family many years ago (and I had to get a copy of the Half-Blood Prince book there, too, as there are differences from the American version) And I do have merch, so… I still obviously like Harry Potter ;P Oddly, I have never once written anything for the series, though, unlike I have with many other fandoms I’ve been a part of. Let’s just say, though I may not be as connected with Harry Potter right now, it’s certainly always going to be a part of my life and something I will always come back to ☺️

But let me tell you… I was OBSESSED with the Harry Potter computer/video games growing up. With the video games, I’m talking the PS2 games with the Sorcerer’s Stone, Chamber Of Secrets, and Prisoner Of Azkaban. I rented those first two games so much from Blockbuster! And, of course, I actually own them now (along with the PS1 versions of them, as they are different). I still have the PC games somewhere, which also happen to be a different kind of gameplay than the PS2 versions. I think I even have the Quidditch PC game ;P (I don’t know if they made other Quidditch PC games…) My favorite is the Prisoner Of Azkaban game (PS2), because you get to play Harry, Ron, and Hermione. You get to do that, too, in the Goblet Of Fire game (which I also own), but I didn’t like how this game was designed as much because it wasn’t like the first three, so I didn’t get into it as much.

Oh, the sneaking around, trying not to get caught by the prefects and professors… Man, that was stressful! My heart would be pounding in my chest when I just narrowly escaped being caught! Oh, just so much fun, these games. Loved exploring the castle and grounds, too ;P

Anyone else here ever play these games and love them as much as I do? (I kid you not, I will still play them now.) Or it is just me?

I did just recently watch some of the Harry Potter: Hogwarts Tournament Of Houses show when it was on this month, so even though I said I wasn’t a true “Potterhead” at the moment in my previous post in this thread, I will still get pulled back into Harry Potter when things like this are going on, because it’s always going to be nostalgic for me 😊

I don't want to be a "Debbie Downer", but I'm not going to watch that reunion. I understand J.K. Rowling is under the hot seat due to her political leanings, but I still think it's wrong to not invite the creator of the series, to the reunion, in order to make some PR statement. So, screw those guys.

I get you and totally understandable. I’d heard about this going on (the reunion), and I’ve seen this pop up recently, but knew little about it and didn’t realize she wasn’t invited to be a part of it, though I should probably have known that (nor should I have been surprised by that). I do agree with you, that she should have been invited to be involved with this, as without her, there would never have been Harry Potter to begin with.
