Phoebe writing a smart spell

This is when I loved phoebe the most. When she spent a lot of her time writing and coming up with creative spells.

For 24 hours, from 7 to 7, I will understand all meaning of the words from here to heaven.
(She folds up the paper and holds it against her head.)
"Spirits, send the words from all across the land,
allow me to absorb them through the touch of either hand,
for 24 hours, from 7 to 7,
I will understand all meaning of the words from here to heaven."
Oh, and P.S., there will be no personal gain

This episode is full of gems. I love the addendum to the smarts spell, and I have to wonder if that's in part why no personal gain came of it in the first place; because she added that part of the spell, magic ensured that there really would be no personal gain involved despite attempts otherwise.

I rewatched this episode dears earlier this year and Phoebe was great in this one. It wasn't the best episode upon rewatching when compared to others I watched at that time, and the plot wasn't that interesting. But she was great.

Just the fact it involved warlocks was enough for me 😊

This was the first episode to feature a female Warlock too I believe. Don't I wish we saw more warlocks on the show? Something sadly we may not see in this reboot.

I agree with just about everything said here. I will always wish that demons never replaced warlocks as the main antagonists on Charmed. I even think that a lot of the villains in Season One who were called demons, should've been warlocks. But especially Cole, Drake, Zankou, Kyra should all have been warlocks and not demons.

The Source as a demon - I can see that. Barbas as the Demon of Fear - I can see that if he was never called Barbas. Tempus as the Demon of Time - oh, yes, can definitely see that if he was never called Tempus. The Angels were always just Angels, never given names. That's what I wish they had done with their counterparts, the demons - don't give them names, just titles. Anyone with a name, make a warlock.

That would have been great. Some of the demons would have been much better if they were warlocks.

This episode was the start of a steep decrease in premonitions.

I'd love a scene where she was "smart" enough to know how her premonition power worked and then used it, considering it was a power coveted by the female warlock. Phoebe could have used it to remember the spell to free someone from painting. They could have vanquished the demons in the manor instead.
