Just watched All Halliwell's Eve and got really angry when Cole killed Micah and turned around when the sisters were all being hung.
My personal view is that he should have gone in Sleuthing!
Don't ge tme wrong. I loved Cole and Julian McMahon, especially the Season 4 end story arc, which I am a minority I assume.
But I do think that he took the focus off the sisters too much and maybe should have just been reoccurring or guest thereafter.

For me, dears Sleuthing with the Enemy should have been the end of his arc on Charmed.

For me it would be Season 5 Episode 2 A witch's tail. It ties Cole, Phoebe and their relationship on a good/high final note. And that's where Julian should have left. Cole could maybe come back for one episode like he did in season 7. Only it would make sense more now. Have some lines that he is in a good place with friends and maybe a new love (?)right now. Perfect end to a great character like Cole!
But my episode isn't on the poll list, so I can't choose any options even similar to my thought way......

Definitely Long Live the Queen for me. I honestly don't think they did anything interesting with him after that. Either that or have him leave and maybe start an "Angel" style spin off about him getting a life away from the Halliwells.

Definitely 'Sleuthing'. Had Phoebe vanquished him as she should've, she'd still be my Phoebs. And I hate their storyline after this.
Now had they skipped 'Sleuthing' (or if Phoebe didn't lie to her sisters about vanquishing him), then I'd say he should've been the reason Phoebe and Leo escaped from the Underworld - Cole died saving them. No way I want my least-favorite storyline - Evil Phoebe and Cole the Source or Cole the Obsessive Stalker - to be part of Charmed and ruin their characters.
Best of all, when Phoebe finds out that Cole has died, you could end Charmed with this episode with Prue and Piper comforting her in a scene similar to 'Long Live the Queen' - the ONLY scene I like between Phoebe and Cole in the last half of S4.

Julians stellar acting would always keep the show interesting. So I vote for never.
On the other hand, he made the right decision to leave the show when he did. This is evidenced by the fact that he had the most successful post-Charmed career out of all of them by far.

The Cole arc ruined my favorite sister. Voted Sleuthing with Phoebe going through with vanquishing him. If he stayed longer then end of S3 with him dying to save Phoebe and let her escape the underworld.

Sleuthing with the Enemy gets my vote and funny enough that is how I felt a decade ago too. Julian played the part so well I did think he did well.

Long Live The Queen wouldve been good. Before the whole Source storyline happened I was enjoying the hell out of Cole. It's a shame that they had to ruin him because to me he forever was Phoebes soulmate.

Nope. That was Anton. Cole just reminded her soul of her true soulmate. Anton and P. Russell were *so* on the same page, the vibes between them when they were in our time was so much better than Queen Phoebe's and Cole the Source. P. Russell could accept Anton's evilness. Phoebe never could accept Cole's even before he became influenced by the Source's powers. If she could, she would've vanquished him in 'Sleuthing with the Enemy' and then I'd be agreeing with you. As is, nope.
Now first to admit, part of this is because Anton was only part of one episode and that was an S2 episode, so he didn't get a chance to be ruined like Cole was, turning a magnificent villain into a sappy whatever.

Cole should've left once he was vanquished season 4 end or the second part of A Witch's Tail when he'd kind of reconciled with Phoebe save him being persecuted from the writers then.

If he had to go, I'd want him gone after Long Live the Queen. I liked season 4 and I thought that vanquishing would have left Cole/Phoebe as a good doomed love story.
I didn't want him to go at all though.

I thought the "Long Live The Queen" death scene was perfect. They shouldn't have gone any further with it from there. Just made it anti-climatic.

I've said this a lot in the past and I'll say it again. The way he was killed off in "Long Live the Queen" and later in "Centennial Charmed" was crap to me. Why didn't Kern and his writers allowed the sisters to learn that Cole had been a victim of possession by the Source? They could have done so and still allowed Cole to leave the show . . . but on a better note than one in which he was killed off again, via bad writing. The way Cole's story arc was handled in the end has become something of a joke in pop culture. Someone on the "Mary Sue Blog" had written an article about the new "Charmed" series and still managed to make a crack about how Cole's story arc was written. Was Kern really that anxious for Phoebe to hop into some other guy's bed so soon?
I wonder how you would react to some of the stuff that the sisters and Leo did in the later seasons.
I'm sorry, but I thought Cole was the best thing about "Charmed". Without him, I would have dumped the show after Season Two.
I don't mind that the series had wanted to get rid of him. But Kern and the writers could have done so with better writing. That whole mess from late Season Four to early Season Five still riles me to this day.

The death and mourning scenes in Long Live the Queen are just too perfect to lose. So much so that I'll put up with all the cringe in S4. But it also means he never should've come back after that. It ruined everything.
Sleuthing feels too soon. The significance of their storyline hinges on Phoebe letting him go. Enemies had gotten close to killing the sisters before but never escaped vanquish! And if we never see him again, well... what's the point of letting him go?
All Hell Breaks Loose - steals focus from Prue's death. No.
Charmed Again - steals focus from Paige's introduction. No.
Charmed and Dangerous - could work if Phoebe's already pregnant. He dies and she gets possessed. But again, steals focus from the Charmed Ones vanquishing the motherfreakin' Source.
That was the problem with Cole. He stole focus. I don't think people would've minded him as much if not for that. Cause to be honest, Julian's performance of Cole Gone Mad was hilarious! It's actually one of the few things I enjoyed in S5...

It's actually one of the few things I enjoyed in S5... A number of members have thought S5 Julian hilarious, but having been stalked myself, I could never find a stalker funny. I just wanted him to accept the fact that NO means NO and go away and leave Phoebe alone! The rest, I agree, which is why I would've wanted COLE to be the one who dies protecting Phoebe in 'All Hell Breaks Loose' with the scene from 'Long Live the Queen' done with the ones it should've been done with - PRUE, Piper and Phoebe. And if that's the way Charmed ended, it would always be my all-time favorite show!

I feel like there was still more that needed to be done with Cole's character with respect to his reasons for going after the sisters in the first place during Season 3. In fact, the pursuit of his father's lost and tortured soul should have been it's own nuanced layer that got brought to light and resolved by the sisters alongside Cole, not just Cole privately.
The end of Season 4 could have worked as a send-off for Cole but I would want it to be significantly rewritten to accommodate the tortured and fallen subtext of what Cole was going through. Also, some recognition of Phoebe's own culpability in all of it and how she partly doomed Cole to death when she killed the wizard would be appreciated. What the end result would look like is Phoebe acknowledging that too much has happened for her to remain with Cole but her and the sisters forgiving Cole as he, in an act that's intentionally the opposite of earlier, admits to having acquired powers and wanting to have them removed. Afterwards, he proceeds to leave to start a new life for himself while maintaining good terms with the sisters.

That I certainly would've liked Sadrick other than having Cole die at the end of Long Live The Queen had the writers originally planned to do it.
For me a good Cole send of would've either been.
A: The sisters find out the Source is possessing him if indeed he truly did and they try to dispossess him but because he's been inside Cole too long they can't unfortunately. Cole reaching out through his love for Phoebe tells them to the only other way is kill him using the spell which they do regrettably after he thanks them for trying to help him that way Cole would've left as a hero to me.
Or B: Like you said sometime after Cole dies Phoebe leaves doing a bit of soul searching returning the start of season 5 realising her part in what happened with him accepting that and apologising to Cole who knowing she doesn't love him leaves on good terms saying he'll use the powers he acquired in the wasteland to help people then.

I changed my answer to Charmed and Dangerous so that the Cole and Source storyline could have ended together and the sisters could have spent the last half of Season 4 bonding and returning to demon-of-the-week like episodes that also showcased the magical community better with evil going after them and innocents kind of like in Season 2.

S3, I think Cole as a one-season character was more than enough. If only they kept it, that he was truly evil and just let Phoebe go through with a vanquish. But I get why they kept him around for as long as possible.
