Your Favorite TV Show Intros

What are your favorite opening credits/main title/ intro sequences? 

Mine in no particular order are-

Charmed (season 1-3): Love the song of course and I liked the shots of the sisters together and them using their powers.

Buffy: Just gotta rock out to this one. Fast paced and action packed, really gets you in the mood for some slaying.

Angel: Really nice melody that goes well with Angel's noir-esque vibe. Like the different colored frame for each cast member. 

Salem: Love the song and the witch trial imagery. Very effective.

American Gods: Really clever take on how religion in the modern tech obsessed world. Amazing CGI and stirring imagery.

American Horror Story: Always interesting to see what kind of opening the latest season has. Very intense and creepy. Think Hotel (season 5) was probably my favorite, although I love the music for Cult (season 7)
 
Absolutely Fabulous (season 5 & 6): Love the song and the artistic style of the intro looks right out of a fashion magazine. 

Game of Thrones: What can you even say about this one? It's Game of Thrones. You know you're all hearing the theme in your heads right now.

The Good Fight: This must have been so fun to make. The intro itself is simple, with various office things exploding, but paired with the increasingly volatile music, it packs a real punch.

iZombie: iZombie is based on a comic book and the intro is made to look like a motion comic. Cool idea and well executed.

I'm certain I love intros more than the actual show. I always hurled death glares at anyone who was like: "Oh intro is on. I'll just flip to other channels see what's on real quick before it ends."

Seriously WHY? There was nothing good on before the show began hours ago. Why would something good magically appear while my favorite intro was being shown?

But now with Netflix and Youtube, fighting over remote and which TV show to watch and channel switching during intros just seems like some kind of dream I had long ago....

I only know about being super impressed and amazed by LCD TVs and monitors when they first came out. So watching Charmed on a 32 inch was....well I could see background stuff I never noticed before. Also other family members, who just passed by without another thought to what I watched on our old 15 inch box like TV, would sometimes sit down to watch full episodes. And sometimes linger in the background listening because surround sound was so good :-)

Made me super happy to see them being impressed with Charmed. And super uncomfortable when some movie or TV show episode involved lots of sex and make out sessions, lol.

3D and 3D TV also great until I realized I can't spend more than 2 hours of watching without getting a major migraine :-( I really would love watching Charmed in 3D.

Well, it was really weird because once networks started broadcasting shows in color, our black-and-white shows looked different - different shades of grey, I realize now. Then my BFF's family won a color TV at a church raffle and since we were both huge Batman fans (We were 14 at the time...she had a huge crush on Robin...), she invited me to come over and watch and I walked into their place just as the show was starting.... Just simply WOW!

Those weren't all of my favorite shows - just my favorite opening credits, mainly because I loved the theme songs.

Most of the ones I like, have already been mentioned, so I'm going to mention some that did NOT get mentioned, just to keep things interesting ;P

MTV's Daria
I (legit) cannot find a clean version for Daria's intro that's not locked into an entire episode or fan-made.  This is the best I can find (and, it's terrible quality).  So, here's the terrible quality one that's just the intro.  Or, if you want a nice, clean version, here's a full episode with a cleaner and better quality version, of the intro (just stop it at the 50 second mark) LOL Here's the full song, in its entirity.

Disney's So Weird
Ironically, this show kind of had a Charmed effect, where the main girl (Cara DeLizia) quit (after only 2 seasons) and was replaced with a different actress (for its third season, and her name is Alex Johnson).  And, this is the Disney Channel so (at the time) only had shows for three seasons, max.  Anyway, this is another one of those "Supernatural-esque" types of shows, that falls in line with Charmed, Buffy, Angel, etc.  Here's the first intro with the first main chick, followed by the second intro with the new chick.  Here's the full version, of that song.  It's a slightly different version but (nonetheless) is the same song.  Thankfully, this golden gem of a show is available on Disney+ with such great quality!  I cried, when I saw it on there 'cause like...nobody (it seems) knew about this show.  It was such a cult classic!

Disney's Gargoyles
This is a show that I'd like to describe as if X-Men & Batman had a baby LOL Here's the intro with the narration, and here's without the narration.  Personally, I like it better without it ;P

Criminal Minds
Here's a video showing S1-S15 ('cause it's a long running show).  I think I've watched up to S8 and just stopped.  Nonetheless, I like the show's intro song ;P

I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned, yet, considering the conversations I've seen discussing some parallels between Charmed and TBAA, but I digress.  I think this particular intro, I've seen, a lot, but the show did run for like 9 seasons LOL Here's the full version, of that song.

Nickelodeon's All That
ONLY S1-S6 'cause I believe the S7-S10 was a rebooted version of it or w/e.  My favorite version is actually S4-S5, when they're all on the red carpet, but I'd probably pick S4 because Lori-Beth Denberg was still a part of the cast, before she left.  In fact, by the end of S6, only one person remained from the original cast.  Everybody else left.  I'm sensing a theme here, with myself.  A lot of shows I've watched, a lot of original cast members would just leave, so I'm guessing...I'm used to this being in my shows?  LOL

Nickelodeon's Kenan & Kel

Nickelodeon's Are You Afraid of the Dark?
Here's the main intro.  No names because this show is rather unique.  We'll get repeat casts telling scary stories, but it's not about the people telling the story.  And, the stories they tell would have different characters, each time.  There are some exceptions but most of the time...each story is a different cast.

Gotham
This video has most of it, but it doesn't have my favorite one, and (unfortunately) I can't find it, anywhere.  My favorite version, is like the first title sequence, but you can see the bat symbol, fadely behind it, and it's so cool!  I have a still picture of it, here.  What I like about Gotham's intro, is every season, we inch closer and closer into the city LOL

I am so sad, that Disney has NOT put this on Disney+, yet. This is SUCH a good show! I'm surprised So Weird managed a spot, before this show did. Everything else about Aladdin (including the remake) is on there but not the show. I want to re-watch this show so badly!

I like the original CSI via CSI: Las Vegas Intro ("The Switch")


My favorite CSI: Miami Team


CSI: NY (a couple of the intros). Side note: We may notice a familiar Charmed face ;P
