This amazing man has captured and stated my thoughts and expressions on the Reboot and on the trailer. - LANGUAGE WARNING! - And if you don't like my opinions of the show, DO NOT WATCH. Should put a warning for risk of dying from laughter too. Anyways, he added a new one:

And for the love of all that is good in the world, make the characters act like adult women instead of teenagers. This is a big part of why I'm already annoyed with the reboot. If the youngest sister is still in college, they're going to throw every stereotypical college idea into it. It's an easy, predictable way for them to paint who the youngest is. What I really loved about Charmed was that they were all old enough to be done with school and they were just out in the world as young women. College teaches a lot of people to be adults, but there's nothing like getting out into the real world and truly being on your own. I was glad Phoebe went back to school because it helped her character development, but it was nice to see her as an older student and not as someone younger who lived on campus in a dorm, went to college parties, etc. It's overdone, and I don't think it's as likely to appeal to a good deal of people, especially those who are older. I'm only 28, and watching someone in college feels like watching a kid. I'd rather watch a show about adults.

So far the only continuing problem I am having bts with this reboot is that it seems like they are trying to use "our show is very feminist" to kind of show how their different from the original? As if the original wasn't feminist when in fact it was VERY feminist (at least S1-4).

You're right. That's what bothered me the most. The two younger ones really did seem more like teenagers than young women. I don't mind the youngest acting that way - she's just starting college. But if the middle one is supposed to be in her mid-20's, especially when she looks younger than her younger sister, she should really act more like an adult.
I also agree that Macy should just use her own accent; it's exotic which makes her different and cool. In a small town like Hilltowne if she lived close by like Paige did, you'd think that they would've run into each other. If she's from another country (she sounds British!), that just makes her different.
I'm still afraid that the feminist part (they keep emphasizing that) is going to be preachy. I hope not. Actions speak so much louder than words.

As if the original wasn't feminist when in fact it was VERY feminist (at least S1-4). For the era it was aired, it was *very* feminist. Had a show like the current one been tried, it never would've aired because it would've been too controversial. Classic Charmed (until Kern took over) kept pushing the envelope as much as they could. And they did it without shoving it in your face. One of my favorite lines is That was about as feminist as you could get during that time period.

Another thing I find funny dears, is they say they want to be *very* feminist, yet they had a white male telling them what to do and that they are Charmed and even being present when they vanquish their first demon I believe.
Yet Classic Charmed had the sisters find out on their own, make their own decisions and stick together and look out for each other. And as Es said, they were feminist for the era they were in. But they did it without shoving it in your face.
But something my granddaughter pointed out to me. Is she was very young when Classic Charmed started, yet she grew up with them as adult women and acted that way. Yet now she's about the same age as Phoebe was. Yet she feels they are acting much younger and like teenagers. Which is ironic considering the middle sister's actress dears is about the same age Holly or Alyssa was when Classic Charmed ended and that maybe she just hasn't got her grove on how to play someone that is about a decade younger than her real age.
Yet she comes across as a teenager and should be acting more adult.
The youngest sister should have just gotten the middle sister's storyline instead. That makes sense.

OMG! Would that ever be fun if he joined! Of course he'd be put on Ignore by a lot of members, but for us who agree...
And, Cyma, unlike Piper, a lot of us *do* care while wishing we didn't. Hence why I use the Ignore function a lot.

Something I just realized about the middle sister.
Her freezing power is too strong already. Wow!! Piper couldn't freeze everything. This sisters freezes the whole room and you can see a bird outside frozen.
So her powers is literally freezing time not slowing down molecules like Piper did.

Why did Netflix post this? What does it mean? That's very interesting! I think the CW and Netflix have some sort of partnership. The CW shows end up on Netflix right after the season has concluded its airing, so maybe they have a benefit of promoting Charmed too. It's just interesting that they didn't even say the word Charmed in their tweet. Apparently Charmed was a highly binged show on Netflix which is part of why this reboot was envisioned in the first place.

I do like the darker more stylized aesthetic. But . . . that's all I liked. Bad writing combined with overacting. The random long lost sister. Their names are blah and uninspired. And, on a incredibly shallow note, I'm somewhat disappointed by how pedestrian their faces are. Agreed, totally. Just remember that it took Classic Charmed a number of episodes to find its footing *and* its pilot isn't as good as 'Something Wicca This Way Goes'. If the show included someone I knew and loved (like I did Holly and Alyssa), I'd be more likely to give them a season-long chance. As is... I plan on giving the reboot half a season. I figure, if they can't hook me within that time frame, it's probably never going to happen.

Hey, long time no see.... Honestly, I'm kind of excited about this? Originally I wasn't (I hated the fact they used buzzwords "feminist", "fierce", "funny", it felt like they were trying too hard), but now I'm ready to reserve judgement until I've seen the first few episodes (Pilots are always a bit weak). I like the fact one of the sisters is going to be a scientist, although I'm a little wary at how they're going to combine magic and science together, since it's difficult to pull off and can even be a disaster. I have the feeling I won't like the sister who's more concerned about sororities than witchcraft (sorry, I can't remember their names right now): it could be because I'm not an American (although my mother is), but I always thought sororities were stupid, so how anyone could prefer that to having magical powers is beyond me... The trailer was both long and short: long in the sense that we got to see quite a bit, but at the same time it wasn't enough for me to really have an opinion... So I'm going to wait until the first few episodes air...

I am not sure how I feel about this. The trailer discouraged me, but it’s only a trailer and perhaps the potential is there. I still believe a reboot was the wrong choice. The original show had its problems, but it also has a loud and vocal fan base who would have been satisfied with something to expand the CharmedVerse as opposed to a reboot.

This sisters freezes the whole room and you can see a bird outside frozen. So her powers is literally freezing time not slowing down molecules like Piper did. Check out the first few episodes of Classic Charmed. Originally Piper's power DID freeze the whole room, actually stopping time as was said in Melinda Warren's prophecy. In 'Something Wicca This Way Comes', the pot stopped bubbling and the clock stopped telling time. It was only later that she tried and could only freeze certain people or certain portions of people and suddenly her powers became the power to freeze people rather than stop time. It will be interesting to see if if the middle sister's power changes into manipulating molecules the way Piper did. I hope not. I much preferred freezing time since then it couldn't become explosions that made Piper the Power of One who didn't need her sisters to vanquish demons. I count that as one of Classic Charmed's worst mistakes.

I agree totally, including giving it a half-season - UNLESS I don't like the first episode and there's another show I like better on another channel.
