hmm... That looks awkward. They don't LOOK tied to the chairs...but they're sitting and positioned that way. Looks super awkward.

True - no ties! I guess Harry has telekinetic powers. Plus, I think I see Melinda Warren!

It just doesn't make sense (from the screenshot alone) why they're like that. Looks stupid. Ugh. This is just telling me to stop what I'm doing and rewatch Charmed.

For real, are you going to be like this with EVERY little thing? I get it, you don't want a reboot, fine. You know you can just not like it and not watch it? Doesn't have to be a crusade where you pick apart every tiny thing they release. If when they actually air it you have legitimate criticisms, alright, but what you're doing now (what I've watched you do for months now) is transparently biased and frankly it's getting a bit ridiculous. It's literally a photo of them sat on chairs for heavens sake. If you can seriously take something so innocuous and turn it into a reason the reboot is bad, you clearly made up your mind already. Why not leave the reboot boards for people who haven't? Especially when reboot talk is restricted to this little section, it doesn't really seem fair.

I've loved Charmed for 20 years. I'm not happy with a reboot. I'm allowed my opinion. Sorry you don't like it. Doesn't mean I'm not allowed to be angry and upset. Some are excited. Some aren't. This forum isn't about the reboot. It's about Classic Charmed. It will always be about the Warren witches.
I'm not happy. I vent. This isn't a positive-only board. If you find my comments unfair, don't read them? Ignore me. And post your own opinions to start new thoughts.
I've been sitting here (at work, no less), for around three hours in anticipation of the trailer. So actual photos of (possible) on-screen moments is the only thing I have to judge. This is the first in-character piece of the reboot I have. I'm going to talk about it.
I'm not bashing the actors. I'm not disrespecting members. So I'm free to have and post my opinions.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=wswvNZveNHcHere's the official trailer. It actually was Harry and he has telekinetic powers. I think I love it. Harry seems very nerdy and Maggie funny!

OMG. I'm internally screaming.
I've seen the trailer. I'm going to focus on work. I'll rewatch tonight and give my (terribly mean, OMG, how dare!) thoughts later.
Quick Snipet Positives: The house looks cool! Maggie's power actually looked not terrible. Negatives: HAHAHA. Mel's and Macy's powers look TERRIBLE. OMG. So bad. *manic laughter* WL dude is terrible. Is that his real voice/accent? WHY YOU KIDNAPPING THEM AND TELLING THEM EVERYTHING. That seems stupid. aint even getting into the sister reveal. terribly done in the trailer. hope it's not as awkward and straight-forward and terrible on screen.

I don't like it. I think the house and the book look bad and I don't like how Macy is significantly taller than the other two. However, I already appreciate the fact that people of color are going to be way more prominent than they were in the original.

Not much to do about the heights. So if they're standing with her in the middle, that works.
I'm kinda glad the book doesn't look the same. The house...the darkness and spooky look and feel kinda works for me. Though it doesn't look like it's in the woods like some initial descriptions mentioned. I would have liked if it was more secluded. But it looks like a regular street?
From the Chatbox:
We still don't know. There's no mention of fathers in the trailer. Just that Macy things they share a mom.

I have a lot of thoughts right now, I think its difficult to judge on a first look trailer because there will have been a lot of scenes cut out and edited etc, so things that seem awkward in the trailer may not be as awkward in the final cut once we see what scenes are fleshed out more.
So first I will say things I liked, Harry seems like someone who isn't going to be romantically involved with any of them, thank God. Second thing I liked is the house, they seem to have a similar looking attic as well. Third thing I liked and this was the thing I enjoyed the most was the emphasis on sisterhood, the original lost a lot of that in the last few seasons, its nice to see again.
And now my negatives, I won't comment a lot on this because as I said before, we're probably seeing a lot of these clips out of context, they will probably work better as an overall package. So the only thing I can think of for now is that the acting seemed quite weak, its probably way too soon to judge but I think I can already tell that not one of these actors will ever come close to the charisma and on-screen presence of Shannen Doherty. But I will forgive them for it for now, because first seasons, especially pilots tend to be weaker in terms of acting, once they find their feet and get more interesting material to work with I imagine we will start to see subtle improvements.

That is a fair point. The way the trailer is edited doesn't mean those are how things play out. The sister reveal was super awkward. So I hope that's done way better and with more lead-up.
Yes! Harry does NOT seem like a romantic prospect. THANK YOU. He does look like a father or brother figure. So that's wonderful.
I will gladly take the attic looking similar. I have no issue with that.
The mom's speech about sisterhood is really nice and natural. Especially with the reveal that she was unbinding their powers the night she died. So it had a purpose. It felt real. And the girls played the sister banter / eyeroll well.
I'm not sure I have a current thought on the acting. I've never seen ANYONE from this show. And I've only watched the trailer once. I need a few more times. And, yeah, how scenes are cut does make a difference in how it's played.
But, again, these are fresh faces. Shannen (and S/Holly with their BFFness) and Alyssa and to some extent Holly were not fresh on the scene. So it's a hard comparision.

I thought it seemed okay, but I still don't know if I'm going to watch it. Two things about it really bother me: one, that one of the new people (can't remember which) said on Twitter or something that the original actresses were too old to reprise their roles, so they should just step aside. I can't get over that because of the enormous amount of respect I have for the original actresses and how they formed the show I love. It's just rude.
And two, they're calling it "Charmed." Not "Charmed: [insert something else]" but just "Charmed." It seems like a slap in the face to the original, as though it never existed.
On a positive note, it wasn't as silly and annoying as I was anticipating: but then again, this was just a short clip, so it's hard to get a big picture idea from such a small sample. And I did like the house.

Yeah, I heard that one of the actresses had "liked" some instagram posts calling the original actresses "old." *blinks* I'm not sure you want to pick a fight with any of them. They don't hold back.
Still and forever bitter about the name. Subtitle it. You wouldn't get backlash from the name if you subtitled it.

First reaction: I felt...nothing.
Second reaction on re-watch:
What is up with the CGI? Shouldn't 2018 CGI be better than the 90s? The mother talking about strength and sisterhood sounds so corny and cheesy. I guess it makes sense the sarcasm followed soon after by two sisters. But then making it part of the voice over of the trailer in the end, didn't like it.
The whitelighter reminds me of a Watcher on Buffy. Which could be a positive thing I guess because Buffy's watcher Giles was like a father figure.
But not feeling any magical or any chemistry between the actresses. Even when actresses are in their own separate scenes they just feels 'meh'. The mother actress also nothing special. The whitelighter is the only actor who has an interesting presence.

Watching this feels so weird. I will watch but critically. I’ll have a hard time just watching without comparing to the original.
Why couldn’t they all just been three sisters from the beginning? No need for the long lost sister arc. Like they wanted to throw in the Paige curve ball all at once but here instead of loosing a sister and gaining a lost one, here they loose their mom and immediately gain a sister.
The houses on their street look the same as before. Also I thought I saw them vanquishing someone that looked like the demon from season I “I got you under my skin”. The demon who used to steal youth. I sure hope they don’t just take old episodes and rewrite them a bit differently

Not sure what benefit the long-lost-sister storyline brings in. It was literally a saving-grace for Classic. Not something to repeat.
They did have a scary-looking demon.
Honestly, one of the things that gets me going is the dark tone. I'm all here for that. Charmed was never "dark" to me. It always makes me curious how Shannen wanted the show to go.
Man, imagine a reboot created by Constance and Shannen?
