Probably. All Reboot talk should be contained within this board. And we'll see how things progress and evolve closer to air date and with the show on air.

First off, it's so great that this trailer has brought back so many members who have been gone for a while. As someone put it, the best part about this site is that you can be gone for a while when Real Life gets busy, but we're always here waiting for your return. Then there's something else that makes this site special. It has to do with this: It just doesn't make sense (from the screenshot alone) why they're like that. Looks stupid. Ugh. This is just telling me to stop what I'm doing and rewatch Charmed. For real, are you going to be like this with EVERY little thing? I get it, you don't want a reboot, fine. You know you can just not like it and not watch it? Doesn't have to be a crusade where you pick apart every tiny thing they release. If when they actually air it you have legitimate criticisms, alright, but what you're doing now (what I've watched you do for months now) is transparently biased and frankly it's getting a bit ridiculous. It's literally a photo of them sat on chairs for heavens sake. If you can seriously take something so innocuous and turn it into a reason the reboot is bad, you clearly made up your mind already. Why not leave the reboot boards for people who haven't? Especially when reboot talk is restricted to this little section, it doesn't really seem fair. I've loved Charmed for 20 years. I'm not happy with a reboot. I'm allowed my opinion. Sorry you don't like it. Doesn't mean I'm not allowed to be angry and upset. Some are excited. Some aren't. This forum isn't about the reboot. It's about Classic Charmed. It will always be about the Warren witches. I'm not happy. I vent. This isn't a positive-only board. If you find my comments unfair, don't read them? Ignore me. And post your own opinions to start new thoughts. I've been sitting here (at work, no less), for around three hours in anticipation of the trailer. So actual photos of (possible) on-screen moments is the only thing I have to judge. This is the first in-character piece of the reboot I have. I'm going to talk about it. I'm not bashing the actors. I'm not disrespecting members. So I'm free to have and post my opinions. This site is a Classic Charmed site, not a Charmed: The Reboot thread, so actually giving it a board of its own is being pretty generous. If someone wants to start a new ProBoard for Charmed: The Reboot where only positive feedback is allowed and they post a link to that site here, they're more than welcomed to do that. BUT in the mean time, AW is absolutely right that if you find her comments unfair, your best bet is to put her on Ignore. I've done that with numerous people over the years as I'm sure others have put me on Ignore, which is just fine with me. Without that function, I'm sure I would've left a long time ago. It's why ProBoards has included that function. A lot of our members love Cole. Some find discussion bout him boring. Some of our members hate Chris. Some of our members love him Some of our members don't like the first few seasons of Charmed. Some do. Others don't like the last few seasons of Charmed. Some do. If you run into someone whose opinions don't agree with your own and constantly reading their opinion is getting annoying, then it's best to just put them on Ignore. Best of all, if you do want to read something one of your Ignored people wrote, there's always a button that will let you do that. Ignoring someone is a bit time-consuming, but worth it. 1. Find one of that person's post and click on their Display Name (so if you wanted to ignore me, go to one of my posts and click on "Esmeralda". This will bring you to their profile 2. Under the "Follow" button is their username. Highlight and copy it.(If you're ignoring me, highlight and copy "esmeralda".) 3. Up in the Menu, click on "Profile" This will bring you to your own profie. 4. Click on the "Edit Profile" button. This will bring you to the Edit Profile screen. 5. Click on the "Privacy" tab. This will bring you to the Privacy screen. 6. Near the bottom, you'll see "Member Block List" Click in the the "Enter a username" field and paste the username you copied. (If you're ignoring me, after you paste, you should see "esmeralda" in that field. 7. Now you have four choices: A. Hide this member's post - self-explanatory B. Do not let this member start a new conversation with me - this member can't PM you. C. Do not let this member follow me or my activities - I don't use the Follow function, but I think it means if that person is constantly replying to your posts and knocking you, if you click this, they can't use the Follow function to do this. D. Block notifications from this member - if the member does something that concerns you, you won't be told about it. You can click on just one or all. I usually just click on A, but if the person is *really* annoying - and I've had my share of those - I'll click on all. 8. At the bottom is a "Save Privacy Settings" Click that and you need never read a post by that person again. This function has helped us keep peace and helped more of us enjoy our time here, helping this being the longest-running Classic Charmed only board on the Net. I hope it helps all of you who have had this problem. Well said dear. I agree absolutely. I've seen the trailer. Not impressed. I can tell it's not Classic Charmed feel. Looks scary to me. But can't wait to see what my daughter and granddaughter think later tonight. If I don't continue. I can still live theough them sharing it and of course the Cafe.

So Harry tied them up to get them to listen to him. I was going to myself why do they look like they are tied up in the photo. Hoping Harry is just a whitelighter and more a father-like figure to the sisters and never a love interest. Don't I hope.

Jumping back in here after being gone for ages, but...I’m not sure how I feel about this reboot after a few watches of the trailer. I’m not too thrilled on the skill level of the three leads compared to Shannen, Holly and Alyssa...or even Rose during her initial season.
Macy (the Prue/Paige replacement) has potential for me to become a rather likable character. She’s not bad, but she’s not great either.
Mel (the Piper replacement) is already set to be the most annoying/irritating for me given her delivery. It’s bordering on overacting. Also, in a few scenes her facial expressions literally go from being angry to uncertain within seconds (for example the foyer scene before Macy knocks on the door). It seems like she is unsure of herself in the role, which makes me see the actress and not a character.
Maggie (the Phoebe replacement) is the most interesting to me so far. I like her wit and the actress seems like she has connected to her character more so than the other two leads.
I will say, besides Maggie, the most interesting characters for me are Harry and their mother Marisol. This is probably because those two appear to be the most seasoned actors in the reboot. It was probably for budget reasons that relative unknowns were cast as leads. However, given the fact The CW went ahead with a full season order, I almost wish the producers would’ve cast more experienced actresses. Then again my thoughts my change once I watch the pilot this fall.

Honestly I'm pumped about the reboot! Of course I'm nervous about how it will turn out, but I'm just happy to have my favorite show back in some form. It's a reboot and a standalone series, so you don't have to worry about it messing with the original Charmed continuity. Here are my thoughts about the trailer: Pros: - The House. It looks very similar to the original Manor and the attic really captures the essence of Charmed. I'm glad to see they aren't changing everything completely
- The Book of Shadows. While I miss the original book of shadows, this one still looks cool and I'm excited to look inside.
- The sisterly bond. Obviously we only have the trailer to go off of, but it looks like they're bringing back the sisterly bond which is nice. I just wish Macy wasn't "long lost" since now they'll have to build that relationship instead of having it already established. I guess this was there way of combining the "estranged Phoebe" arc from season 1 and the "long lost Paige" from season 4.
- The acting (mostly). There were a few cringe moments, but for the most part i was pleasantly surprised. I was bummed when I saw the casting so it's nice to see that I may like them after all! Maggie especially seems like she fits right into the Charmed universe.
Cons: - The age of the actress playing the middle sister (Melonie Diaz). She is supposed to only be a few years older then the youngest, when in reality she is 12 years older. She is also 6 years older then the actress playing the oldest sister. Just because the actress is short doesn't mean she can pull off the character's age. She looks like she could be their aunt or something.
- The kidnap scene... Obviously we don't have the context for the scene but having them tied up and told all the exposition seems dumb. Also he removed the rope pretty quickly, so what was the point.
- How cheesy Mel and Macy are when they use their powers. Also, why aren't the sisters using their hands to freeze time? It'd be one thing if Macy squinted her eyes for telekinesis like Prue, but it doesn't look like she is.
- That Spell. We didn't hear much, but there is a split second where we hear the sisters saying a spell. Charmed spells are in English and they rhyme. Part of the fun is hearing the sisters try to make up their own spells. From the trailer, it sounds like the spell was just latin... Which just seems like the writers didn't want to worry about writing creative spells. They took the easy route. The latin spells worked for Vampire Diaries, but I like the Charmed spells the way they were.
- The Demon. Again, we didn't see much, but it looks like they're using too much CG for the demon they showed. It wasn't terrible, I just wasn't impressed.
- The Spirit Board. It was just a plain black board, and they even called it a ouija board in the video title. The spirit board in charmed was something only good witches (dead or alive) could use. From the looks of it, they're going to use it for a cheap scare.
Ultimately i'm very hopeful for the future of this series and I really hope you all give it a try. We're all a little nervous but I'm cautiously optimistic about it.

Not sure this was confirmed as I was confused if she was a half or full sister. But the actress playing the oldest sister said in this interview Macy is a half sister.
I would not be surprised if Macy's father is a demon or warlock and the reason her mother sent her away. Maybe even killed her mother as a way for his daughter to reunite with her half sisters and return to town.

I think we all knew she was half, but glad it's finally confirmed.
I do like the idea of the science vs magic play and how she rationalized it. If done right, I think it could be a fun arc.

i hope none of them have. Then they won't try to be like Classic Charmed. I don't want them to be. That's what will let Classic Charmed remain Classic Charmed.
If her father is a demon - and I'm going to guess he is - I just hope the fact that the actress is half-black doesn't mean that her father is black. That's *not* my idea of diversity...even Classic Charmed (black cop; black Angel of Destiny) was better than that!
I think hiring three actresses who just happened to be Latino but who have no chemistry with each other was done just for diversity's sake and a horrible mistake. The chemistry is what made the first Classic Charmed set so special. The ones in charge of the reboot should've hired due to chemistry; not skin color.
Of course, this is just the pilot trailer. There was no chemistry between Shannen, Holly and Lori. Maybe they'll either change one of the actors (replace the middle one, please) or the actual first episode will show what the trailer didn't - chemistry.
Although then again if there's instant chemistry between the full sisters and their half-sister I won't like that either. At least the half-sister's power isn't a hybrid. Hopefully she's just a witch with whatever-her-dad-is powers and fix that horrible mistake from Classic Charmed. Then even if her dad's a demon, she can still be human - both bad and good, something I know a lot of fans wanted Classic Charmed to have - no black-and-white (pardon the horrid pun!) morality.

So I watched the trailer again... I just can't find myself liking this. If it was titled something else, change the dialogue a little bit to take out them being the Charmed Ones, edit the powers a little bit, then I could like this. Maybe the pilot episode will change my mind, I'm really not too sure.

The great thing about Charmed was that everything fit well together to give the show a special feel. The actresses' chemistry together, the story, the setting, the time period. Everything worked as a cohesive whole, and the classic Charmed feel came from that.
This show almost looks like it's trying to mimic that without real substance behind it. Charmed never tried to capture that special feeling. It was just born from everything working well together.

They're trying too hard. Sounds about right.
I rewatched the trailer this morning. Yeah, I see the acting issues. Especially from the middle sister. The other two seem fine to me.
Still don't like the Whitelighter use. THE MAGIC OF CHARMED WAS FIGURING IT OUT ON THEIR OWN, TOGETHER AS SISTERS.
This trailer should only be from the pilot. Which means ALL THAT HAPPENS IN THE PILOT. They accept a half sister faster than Phoebe does in Classic. WHA?
I keep reading YouTube, article, and other forum's comments. Haven't checked twitter since the Upfront. It's not getting good social media reception. Something's gotta give...

Honestly, if it's getting this much bad press from the fans, then I can't see this show lasting past the 10th episode... they might axe it after it goes on mid-season break. Now, of course that would be bad, especially for Ser'Darius Blain since he's been so vocal and straight up rude to the fans expressing their dislike. Hate it say it, but karma could very well kiss his butt. I'll be surprised if it airs after the break, let alone get renewed for a second season.

Yeah the first trailer straight away indicates that the acting issues are from the new middle sister, her facial expressions and body language are very over the top. And it remains to be seen whether or not they accept her straight away, I know in the original show with The Source coming after them they had to accept Paige quickly if only for survival reasons.
I would also appreciate a link to where the actresses have said negative things, I can't find any kind of source.

Wow, I’m so late! Ok, I have so many comments but I’m just going to throw out my initial thoughts.
Pros:
- The actresses who play Mel and Maggie look like sisters. Their chemistry is believably sister-like. Too soon to tell with Macy.
- I think I’m going to like Maggie the best. From my first impression, Sarah seems the best actress.
- I like the house (even though it’s not the Manor) and also the gothic, small town setting.
- The inclusion of Marisol and her backstory right away in an interesting addition. I also liked the added horror/thriller elements that accompany the mystery of her death.
- The world-building/mythological seems to have been more thought out. Hopefully it is more consistent than Classic Charmed ‘figure it out as we go along’ approach.
- I’m here for the girls first BIG mystery concerning their mother’s death.
- Mel doesn't seem to be that much of the 'angry lesbian' stereotype we were led to believe. I think she's just griefing for Marisol.
Cons:
- Why do these modern shows look so low-budget and cheap? Classic Charmed was absolutely gorgeous to watch; the sets, the music, the lighting. The reboot definitely feels goofier and more Scooby Doo-like.
- Not that I was expecting this to happen, but these girls just cannot match the talent of Shannen, Holly, Alyssa and Rose. I don’t know why, but it seems to be a trend amongst modern actors to really EXAGGERATE everything i.e. theatrical dialogue delivery and cartoonish face-pulling. The original girls could convey their characters’ emotions so powerful in a simple line of dialogue: the pain they felt after losing loved ones, the joy of helping Innocents, their relationship highs and lows. You really FELT what they were going through and it made them so realistic and relatable.
- Harry the Bloody British Whitelighter. I am SO sick to death of the ‘Loveable Awkward British Nerd in a Woolly Jumper’ stereotype. I’m so disappointed by Harry’s introduction. At least Giles from BtVS was nuanced and somewhat original. Harry seems more like a rehash of the idiotic Simon Marks rather than Leo. I also hate that he is there from the start, telling the girls everything. That will kill a lot of potential suspense-building.
- The Books of Shadows. Sorry, no. It just looks AWFUL! So tacky.
All in all, I think the reboot has promise and I’m going to give it a chance. I’m pretty sure it won’t live up to Classic Charmed, but as long as it’s fun and with good enough plots, I’ll probably stick with it. At the end of the day, I don’t really want it to replace Classic Charmed. It can just be a fun addition to the Charmedverse.
Sidenote: Is anyone else getting HUGE Witches of East End vibes?

Ultimately i'm very hopeful for the future of this series and I really hope you all give it a try. We're all a little nervous but I'm cautiously optimistic about it. I agree with your sentiment completely. If the reboot tanks, we'll always have Classic Charmed. We're not losing anything, but potentially gaining a new show to enjoy and a reinvigorated Charmedverse and fanbase.

I got Witches of East End vibes. Funny i said on paper it sounded like WOEE and Supernatural. The mother reminds me of Joanna. Plus the house is actually the Witches of East End house they filmed at since that show shot in Vancouver too. The middle sister is so out of place. If they ever recasted like they did with Classic Charmed and Lori. I hope its her. Also the guy who was rude to Classic Charmed fans too on Twitter I'd be thrilled.

Firstly- there is a lot of debate about positive / negativity on this board that I just want to call out. YES everyone has an opinion but I kind of do get tired of coming here sometimes, for a show I think so fondly about and feel that "kind" and newer users who haven't been here as long, have older fans jump down their throats or have their opinions dissected, told that they are wrong or even replied to like they are stupid. Can I just ask that there be more kindness on this board and to think about how you say/write things and how that might have an impact on the participation here. Moving on - I am on optimist and don't take things as seriously, and crack down to the smallest details. I like to see the positives in every episode first and foremost. I love Charmed and am excited about a Reboot. About the Reboot Trailer - I quite like it. I was quite proud of the homage that it pays to SWTWCs and Charmed Again. One thing the original actors and people on this board should recognise is that it's the ego's of the actors, writers and the WB that ultimately led Charmed in the wrong direction. Food for thought for those who are borderline-trolling - IMO. Thank you for also showing us the block/ignore tools. I've never done this on any social media platform but I want to come here as an escape from my work and busy life to talk about the good times and the bad times - just more constructively. In watching the three new actresses at a promotional event, I liked how they spoke and interacted with each other. In the trailer I like the new Leo "guide" and I LOVED the conflict between the sisters. I do like how it is a Charmed Mystery. I just hope that they have thought it out and are not just running with it like Lost or Season 8 and that there is more to Season 1 All in all. I will take the advice of the shows writers, creators, actors etc and take a shot in watching the new series. Already the people I've shown the trailer to are shocked that the original actors aren't in it. However, when all 4 the actressess either don't want to do it (remember we only need 3 at a time), or can't get passed not being able to work together, and there is a demand we both Charmed and a feminist show in this environment - well then I SINCERELY "wish them well"
