REBOOT POSITIVITY THREAD
I know we have members who are excited fir the reboot and get turned off by thr negativity everywhere. So, consider this the "safe space" for people happy and willing to see the new Charmed.

My first and probably my last post in this thread.
Although I have yet to find anything positive about "Charmed (2018)", I'm very glad that those who have can have a sanctuary where they can feel safe talking about it and not be afraid of constantly reading negative responses.
I remember when I first joined the Cafe during Season Six, the majority of the members could not stand Prue. There was actually a thread called "I Hate Prue" and it was the most popular thread at the Cafe. In case you can't tell by my avatar, I love Prue. I understood why others felt the way they did - most were quite a bit younger than me and probably resented the way Prue took care of her younger sisters. But I didn't like constantly reading why they thought Prue was a horrible person. So I was very glad that at that time, each sister had their own PRIVATE board where only fans were allowed, so we Prue fans could discuss Prue without having to read posts written by the Prue-haters. I'm happy to say that those haters never tried to tell us how stupid we were for feeling that way, but I was still glad to have that sanctuary.
I will always prefer open threads where differing opinions are welcomed and everyone is respected no matter what your opinions are. But remembering what those early days were liked...yeah, I'm glad those who are excited for "Charmed (2018)" can discuss it without worrying about others constantly stating their differing opinions.
And who knows? Maybe reading their comments, I might change my mind. That's been known to happen...

I am a *huge* fan of the original Charmed, but I'm actually thinking I'm going to at least watch the first episode of the reboot. Before I saw the trailer, I was thinking, "Oh, no! Please tell me they didn't do this!", but after watching the trailer, I have to say, it definitely made me take notice. It was interesting! I'm actually eager to see that first episode and see if it can retain my interest. I really don't need it to, I have enough shows to watch during the year as it is..lol. I'll definitely be coming here to see what everybody thought about it. Even if I don't continue to watch, I do hope it succeeds in the ratings. It would be nice to have both the old and new be fan favorites. This time, I don't know any of the lead actresses, so it'll be interesting to see if not knowing any (I started watching the original Charmed because I loved Shannen and Alyssa as actors) has any effect on whether I like it or not. If I remember right, they have a whitelighter. (It's been a while since I've seen the trailer). I am interested to find out if I'll like him as much as I did Brian Krause. But again, I had seen Brian in something before he appeared on Charmed, so I think that helped me quickly form a good opinion about him.

I think that the reboot might actually bring back attention to the original and people will either watch both or start rewatching the old show again.
There was a lot of talk a few years ago about 'what fans have left' and at least this is something to keep our dear show alive in some way.

I didn't get a chance to watch episode two and three until today and I'd like to say I'm really enjoying this new Charmed. Macy (Oldest raised Only) and Maggie (Youngest) are my favorites and even Mel (Middle raised as Oldest) is starting to grow on me. I hope they keep up this better pacing and character development. I'm going to try to sit down and write my thoughts about both episodes later, but I just finished watching both episodes and wanted to say I think the show is doing its best to be modern and live up to the spirit of Classic Charmed.

At the moment what I like about the reboot is.
* The first episodes are focusing on the sisters.
* The secondary cast in the background doesn't take over.
* I liked the visual effects on the ice demon they first vanquished and the power of three spell the girls cast.
* Harry is just an advisor and not in a relationship with Mel, Maggie or Macy.
* It's nice to see the new characters played by different actors of ethnic minority which the original didn't do.
* And I liked the Trickster pretending to be Marisol and how it got the girls trapped in the room of mirrors too.
