Still working on my update - it will take a while and I might not post it til tomorrow - but had to reply to this.
Here's an interesting idea - perhaps in our series finale (and let's not make Classic Charmed's mistake and have it go for too long - no more than four, preferably three, seasons, especially since we're doing episodes and not just season summaries like I do with my Dream Charmeds.) we *do* have Patience and Prudence die, with Paige, Piper and Phoebe left to star in their ow series - a series that can move back to The CW! It probably means we'd have to change the ages on those three so that when our series ends, they're still in their 20's/30's (this would especially make Paige quite a bit younger, but putting Peyton closer to Piper's age), which The CW would want.
Although there's a stranger idea - perhaps in the series finale, Peyton saves an innocent in order to let her own mother die which turns her from a warlock back into a witch, and the spin-off can be Peyton, Piper and Phoebe - then the older three can keep the same ages they are now, with Peyton perhaps being closer in age to Piper. And since in our set-up, this triangle of power (as compared to the pentagon of power) doesn't have to be sisters, one of them being cousins (and not a half...) would work.
What does anyone think about that?
When planning a story, I always like to figure out my beginning and my ending (and I usually do that by starting in the middle and then first working backwards to a start and then going forwards to an ending), so figuring out our ending (especially because we don't have to worry about Real Life (actors/actresses leaving...) messing with our plans!) is important, too, and I like the idea of our series doing what Classic Chamed should've done - only go four seasons and then begin the spin-off with some of their future kids. Had they done that and that spin-off became something like "Supernatural", we wouldn't have to be worrying about the ripoff!
Okay, back to the updating!
I do like the idea of Peyton turning back into a witch after saving an innocent. I actually have a few ideas I've come up with over the weekend. And it might actually tie in well here. I haven't put them into a press release yet since what I came up with would become part of the final season.
Although, I'm not sure how many seasons were doing. Three or Four. We'll have a clear picture soon, but I'd love to have an idea soon.
Again these are so rough ideas, that I just wanted to share, maybe someone can word it better, or further develop it, and put them into press releases.
You've definitely piqued my interest.
Just making sure I understand what you're saying. By "second last season" do you mean the next-to-the-last season?
Otherwise I love your idea of Peyton being a shape-shifter, especially because it means 8-year-old Peyton can now look like an adult. Or *is* she still 8? Has something happened so she's now an adult? Personally I like the idea of our Big Bad ending up being an 8-year-old who throws baby tantrums when things don't go her way!
Oh, yes, I can definitely see this happening.
Okay, wait a minute. So when Paige becomes a warlock, that's our next-to-the-last season cliffhanger? If so, it's a great one, I just want to be sure that that's what you have in mind. And this is a wonderful way to start the final season with the emphasis on our family and not another witch who isn't a Warren and who wants to take over the show!
OH! Wouldn't that be wonderful if the innocent Paige saves is a child the same age as Peyton was when she died? I can see how something like that would get through to her.
WOW! I hope someone figures this out, because it's FANTASTIC!
Totally completely love it - and this is definitely the reason why it's Prudence who should die, since as you said, she'd be able to use her element and the spirit board to communicate with her family.
YAY!
I'm really thinking that we should do this as Season 5, rather than Season 4, because I don't think we want to stretch this particular episode for too long, like Charmed did in S8 (make it only a half-season it would've been tolerable.) and I love the idea of having our last episode be its 100th episode. But as always, that's up to the majority.
I really like the idea of Julian being part of the final season premiere.
Oh, that's a fantastic role for Julian - but I hope we're imagining him looking like he did in his Charmed days and not the way he looks now - he has *not* aged well! Although now that I think about it, maybe that would be better...
Now do you plan on him being a recurring guest star or just a one-time. As usual, I'd prefer one-time, but with it being the last season, I can see how you might decide otherwise.
Did you check this date on a calendar? And I'm assuming our series will be on CBS rather than The CW for all seasons but the first one.
So I see Julian is going to be a recurring guest star. Just as long as he's not part of every episode which means he's now a co-star rather than just a recurring guest star, I guess that's okay.
But starting the Witch Hunts - oh, yeah, LOVE that for our last season!
Oops! Are you just going to use that date as a placeholder? How 'bout for now we just use "TBD" - "To Be Determined" when we're not sure?
And again I'll change that to CBS-TV.
Okay, you skipped from Episode 2 to Episode 4. Was that on purpose? What did you want to have happen between these two or aren't you sure?
Glad that you also don't count family as innocents!
LOVE this!
As always, not nuts on the idea of a boyfriend who would probably become a co-star, but I'm going to guess that by Season Four or Five we're going to have to. I'll be curious to see who we end up casting for him. And *sigh*, yes, if he can be a co-star, so can Julian, even though he's not in this episode. But don't really like them hogging into Patience and Paige's special episode. It's like Prue Halliwell starring in Piper Halliwell's wedding. This should really be part of the next episode.
So is October 31, 2021 really a Sunday? If we end up doing 5 seasons and this is part of Season Four, I'd love to see it as a real Halloween episode which this isn't. Don't get me wrong - I love this, just not as a Halloween episode.
No, no, no! We need a full episode for Paige becoming a witch again, since she didn't do that in the previous one. And we need more than one with her as a warlock.
And that's it? Nothing about the trial? I *really* think we need more information regarding how Paige turns back into a witch and Piper's trial, with each a separate episode. I particularly want to find out if Julian's character is a witch-hunter, a warlock or what.
Hopefully Paige does get a chance to save her later on.
It's strange, but this is my favorite part of this entire episode!
Thinking about it, I don't think I'm going to do any editing right now because I feel it needs a little more work and usually once I edit something, it remains that way.
This is an absolutely fantastically wonderful start, SR - I just feel like it needs more. And if anyone else wants to do something else with it, go for it!
That's what I'm also concerned with. I'd love to do it Connie-style, letting each of our stars have a significant other, but only for one season - no great Piper/Leo or Phoebe/Cole stories that last more than one season and puts all the attention on those characters, making the other characters just co-stars - save those stories for the rip-off, since we all know that that's going to end up being more important than the sisters who happen to be witches - The CW just can't help it. It's part of why we moved ours to CBS-TV.
Now if we're going to end up with Piper with someone, if we want to introduce her future boyfriend in an S2 episode (maybe as an innocent she saves), then in S3, she finds he's lost his job, so she gives him one at her restaurant, then in S4 they start dating, ending with what SR has done for S5, with him never becoming anything but a recurring guest star until S5, that to me would be perfect, especially if we don't see their wedding until Prudence's premonitions during the finale episode.
But, as always, if the majority wants a great love story, I'll bow to the majority.
Along those lines, if we want to show that either Piper or Phoebe (or even Paige - maybe the real reason she's never had a boyfriend beyond Sam...) are lesbians, that's fine with me, too, as long as we don't get preachy about it. No need to do a press release announcing "PAIGE IS A MILITANT LESBIAN" like the rip-off, just announce who's playing her girlfriend and leave it at that. And if we cast any of our characters with a non-white character (outside of the Warrens, of course), that's fine, too.
I'd like to see Phoebe have a lot of college boyfriends who can be innocents or warlocks or witches but who are never part of more than a single episode. BUT I'd like her to know that sex does NOT equal love, so she never jumps into bed with any of them...having seen what happened with Paige and Sam and Peyton, she's saving herself for the right guy, who she never meets. Perhaps we can do that in our series finale - let Prudence have a premonition showing Phoebe and her husband and her kids, but not until then.
But again, as always, that's just what I'd like to see, and being 65, I know how my ideas can be different than others, so if the majority disagree, that would be fine with me.
By the way, if Julian gets more than one episode, we HAVE to figure a way to bring back Mary Ann and Jenna (Shannen and Alyssa). I'd love to figure a way to let them be part of each season the way Grams was, but only ONE episode per season, so since they're part of the Season One finale and the Season Two premiere, those would be their only appearances in Season One and Two.
Actually I'd love to have an episode that shows that Peyton is the reincarnation of Jenna and Paige is the reincarnation of Mary Ann...so if we "fix" Peyton, we also "fix" Jenna. But again that's up to the majority.
