A couple weeks ago, GrannyCharmed started this thread: What Would Your Version or Rebooting Charmed Be Like? with this post: If you were in charge of rebooting Charmed, (and you wouldn't be doing it in the way one coming out later this year is doing. You'd be told you have to give this series a new title and it wasn't allowed to use the Charmed label). A demand from the network/CBS is you have to come up with a story inspired by Charmed, that focuses on a set of sisters who happened to be witches. What would be your ideal story? Well, that thread very simply took off as members had fun throwing ideas into the pot. After a while, one specific idea, featuring a witch named Prudence who has the Elemental power of Spirit, her older daughter named Patience who has the Elemental power of Earth, her younger daughter Paige who has the the Elemental power of Air, her older granddaughter, Piper, who has the Elemental power of Fire and her younger granddaughter Phoebe, who has the Elemental power of Water, join together to make up the Elemental Witches, ended up hijacking the thread, not leaving any space for other ideas. So I've decided to got ahead and transfer all of the posts that have to do with this idea (including the posts that inspired it) and hope that other members will continue adding new ideas to it. Remember, you can always edit any posts to show your own ideas, even if they don't fit previous posts. This is purely for fun and there's no wrong or right way of doing it. This thread is very strictly a rough-draft, brainstorming thread. Who knows? Maybe someday someone will turn it into a Role-Playing Game or an actual story or a virtual series or even just a series of virtual press-releases. But for now, enjoy reading and let's continue to have fun!

I'd like to try something slightly different and have 5 family members form a Power of Five with the Pentagram as their symbol, instead of the Power of Three with the Triquetra. I was always fascinated by the Pentagram mythology in 'Apocalypse, Not' and how Phoebe explained that it was originally a symbol of good magic, which is true in real life Wicca/pagan traditions. It is the inverted pentagram that is associated with evil. I would love to see Grams and Patty as main characters, with Piper and Phoebe still being Patty's daughters. Paige's character could be reworked into Patty's younger sister who doesn't have kids but can play the "fun aunt". There would be a big age gap between she and Patty, so she would be halfway between her sister and her nieces in age. Most of Prue's purpose and personality would be taken up by Grams. Here are my ideas: Prudence/'Prue'/'Grams'/'Mom': Much the same as the Grams we know and love, Prue Halliwell would be the strict, fiery matriarch of the Halliwell family. I imagine her as very much like Prue, initially strict but because she will have suffered fewer losses than the "real Grams" she would become more mellow and softer, which is why I gave her Prue's name. I would give her the power of Pyrokinesis, so her power is the most offensive and befitting of her 'Demon Slayer' role. Patience/'Patty'/'Mom': Pretty much Patty as she was in the original series, although with more of what I imagined her to be like when she's younger: kind, caring, sometimes irresponsible and impulsive and not always in touch with reality. Nevertheless she is the most selfless person of all always has time to help those in need, which is why I renamed her 'Patience'. I would give her Shapeshifting and Transmogrification powers as it would suit her vivid imagination. I could picture her changing fireballs into basketballs or something wacky like that! Paige: Again, she is basically the same as her namesake, except she is Patty's sister, not Piper and Phoebe's. I'd give her a form of Telepathy with which should could read memories/fears/hopes/dreams, rather than direct "inner speech" thoughts, as I imagine her to be the most perceptive and intuitive of the family. She would function as the "balance" of the family as Piper was in the original series. Much in the same way Prue would lecture Phoebe on being irresponsible in the original series, Grams would be the same with this "Paige" but, like Phoebe, her power is the one that is usually the most helpful. Piper and Phoebe would be much the same, although Phoebe would not have premonition power, being too similar to Paige's telepathy power, but perhaps Telekinesis (including levitation) like the OG Prue, so she can still be the kick-ass sister. And Piper would have her Freezing power and nothing else. Above all it would be an interesting dynamic to explore amongst the various parent-child relationships, as well as the sisterly ones.

Perhaps in your family, the pentagram originally includes a set of twins who were vanquished, allowing Piper and Phoebe to become part of the family secret. That reminds me. In a setup like this, would Piper and Phoebe know about being witches all their lives? The best part is with having the three older Halliwells there would be no real need for whitelighters or Elders! So would you call your reboot "Pentagram"?

My reboot/inspired show would revolve around a mortal father, his four daughters and their eccentric maternal aunt who comes to town to reveal to them that they are witches. Backstory: Husband witnesses his wife being murdered by an ancient demon hellbent on killing and obtaining the power of their family. Turns out the wife knew that this would happen so she made sure to provide him with a binding potion to rid their children of their powers and memory of magic and a cloaking spell so magical creatures can never find them. So, Ben (let's call the dad that) runs off with his girls (ages 8, 4, 2 & 6 months old) and raises them as mortal girls in a very strict and protective manner. 26 years later on the eve of his wife's death, Ben is visited by his wacky sister-in-law Roxie to warn him that somehow evil specifically the demon who killed Cait, his wife has found a way to break the cloaking spell that has protected them for so many years and now they must tell the girls of who they really are if they want them to survive. (The whole aunt coming to warn them is very much in vein of Witches of East End-a show that was the perfect replacement for Charmed). In terms of powers I would like for the sisters' powers to mirror the powers of the Charmed Ones. So I'm thinking Sensing danger (kinda like what Prue had in AHBL), Pyrokinesis, Deflection and Healing. The Oldest Sister will be the most fiery when it comes to personality so it comes to no surprise that she inherits the power to wield fire. Sutton is strong-willed, stubborn and very opinionated. She is a TV host, author, columnist and super political (CW would love that). The Second Sister is a caged bird. A free-spirited, bold and independent individual who dreams of leaving her hometown but for the life of her can never leave. Mariah works as the head chef at her father's restaurant and is clearly the apple of his eye. Even though she's her father's favorite, they are always at odds about Mariah's dream to live her life the way she wants to. Mariah will have the power of Deflection. Kelsey is the most level-headed and stable of her sisters. At a ripe age of 28, she already has a wife, a son and a job as a nurse. She is the sister that everyone comes to when they have a problem and they often forget to ask her about her's. Like her older sister Mariah, Kelsey too is yearning for a little excitement in her life. So, when she finds out from her aunt about her magical heritage; she is eager and ready to start this new chapter in her life. As a nurturer, Kelsey has the limited power to heal others. June more affectionately called "Junie" is the youngest of the four sisters. She is intuitive, smart, witty and artistic. She is an up and coming artist and is also a bit of a nerd. She also wields a photographic memory. Out of all her sisters, she is the one less interested when it comes to witchcraft and magic and tries her hardest to steer clear of it but fails miserably. June has the power to sense danger.

Unless, like Deano (and I have a hunch like the rip-off), fighting demons is more important than protecting those who are innocent of the existence of magic - my definition of innocents.

Both Deano's and PurelyWyat's are reminding me of this one - truly still my favorite reboot idea, especially if it didn't include sisters named Prue, Piper and Phoebe or Piper, Phoebe and Paige. The funny thing is it *sorta* reminds me of the rip-off... I thought it would be fun if we put together our own "pitches" for a Charmed reboot. The only rules in place are what we've already heard about the proposed reboot which is that the series would be about four sisters who happen to be witches. This is mine!
CHARMED A series about four sisters who happen to be witches. Watch as they explore their new-found destiny, discover the truth about their family history and grow closer as a family as their destiny brings them closer together. And it appears their discovery has come just at the right time as "evils" grip on the world is almost at a point of no return. Can the Warren sisters build upon their strengthened bond and use it to battle the forces of evil? MELODY WARREN ( Kate Mara) is the eldest Warren sister. Aged 26, Melody is well travelled, cultured and street smart but despite being the oldest sister she hasn't naturally filled the usual responsibilities of an elder sibling. Often unreliable and impulsive, some would even say selfish, she isn't a particularly good role models for her younger sisters. Having spent the majority of her adult life travelling around the country and abroad, Melody almost feels like a stranger in her home, struggling to strike a bond with her sisters Maya and Meghan in particular. However, when she discovers the truth about her and her sisters destiny and about their family secret, she begins to settle back into life in Salem, finding common ground with her family. The most intrigued about both the destiny that awaits them and a past they never knew existed, Melody begins to uncover the truth about their heritage. She is shocked when she discovers her memory was erased as a child to keep the family secret under wraps and to save her and her sister lives but she is more "cutup" as she begins to wonder what her life may have been like had she grown up knowing about magic and begins to blame her mother and grandmother for robbing her of her true identity believing not knowing as shaped her into the person she is today. MAYA WARREN ( Evan Rachel Wood) is the sensible one, a confident leader who is fiercely protective of her family. Aged 23, Maya seems wise beyond her years practically filling the role as the eldest that Melody seemed disinterested in fulfilling. A successful journalist, Maya is the main breadwinner in the household and became like a mother to her younger sisters while also caring for their grandmother Martha in her later years. She is dating police detective Sean, who she met by chance through her job as a social worker. Maya was the most reluctant to embrace her and her sisters destiny and was unnerved and almost ignorant about the reality of magic. However she eventually comes round as she watches as the bond between her sisters grows. While she generally takes the lead, she doesn't find herself competing against Melody who starts growing into the role as the leader. MEGHAN WARREN ( Rachel Hurd Wood) has always dreamed of being doctor and now working as a medical intern, it seems nothing will stop her fulfilling her dream. But the discovery of the family secret worries Meghan and she begins doubt whether she can complete her training while fighting the forces of evil and wonders whether she can ever truly be a good doctor if she is always going to be distracted by "family emergencies". Despite this, her powers grow the quickest and masters her magic quicker than her sisters. Meghan is smart, kind, resourceful but ultimately caring. Close to older sister Maya, the sisters are like more like best friends than sisters! She is a bit hopeless in love and is secretly jealous of Maya's relationship with Sean and both Melody and Mercy's "knack" for picking up guys. Despite Maya being their grandmothers carer in her later life, it was Meghan who was closest to Martha and is devastated when she dies, almost blaming herself for not doing more medically to help save her! MERCY WARREN ( Haley Ramm) is the youngest sibling and boy does she take advantage. Playful, flirtatious and often troublesome, Mercy feels almost lost after finishing college, struggling to work out what direction to take next in life. Mercy is also the most liberal of the sisters, openly exploring and flaunting her sexuality. Becoming a witch gives Mercy purpose and she soon discovers her knack for helping people. But underneath her confident (perhaps almost overconfident) and fiercely independent exterior lies a naive, vulnerable young girl who struggled without the presence of her mother in her life. While magic makes her a little more responsible, she still can't help getting herself into sticky situations and she often becomes an easy target for demons and warlocks. Mercy is thrilled when Melody becomes a more permanent fixture in her life, finding her eldest sister more interesting than the sensible middle sisters. She also has a love/hate relationship with brother Theo. THEODORE WARREN ( Nicholas Brendon) is the sisters eccentric older brother who has known about the family secret his entire life. Too old to have his memory wiped when his mother and grandmother attempted to protect his sisters from the evil knocking on their door, Theo swore to protect and guide his sisters when they eventually came into their powers. Despite his lack of active powers, Theo is an extremely experienced witch who is practically a walking, talking Book of Shadows with a whole heap experience and connections in the magical world. Particularly close to oldest sister Melody, the pair remained in close contact despite his sisters travels around the world but he often clashes with outspoken Maya and rebellious Mercy all of whom (plus Meghan) see him more as a father figure than a brother. Though he has no actual active powers, Theo believes he way have low level telepathy and empathy and he is very good at reading people and often finds himself in tune with the thoughts and feelings of those around him. SEAN CALLAGHAN ( Kirk Acevedo) is a bit of an unknown quantity. Other than being a police detective and Maya's boyfriend, not much is known about him and few ask any real questions but Melody takes an instant dislike to him. We do know he is older than Maya and that he served in a yet unknown war in the US army. I love that their last name is Warren and not Halliwell, so Warren women really did keep their maiden name! AND that the letter that starts all of their names is the same as Melinda Warren's!

Thank you Esmeralda. When there was talks about a reboot centered around 4 sisters in 2013, this is how I wanted or pictured it to be. When writing this I thought of it as it's own show and not a reboot or something in the universe mainly because I don't want whitelighters in this. So, I gave the third sister healing properties. As for the youngest, she'll eventually have premonitions and she would experience them in the "first season" but it would not be so precise as Phoebe's. Junie's flashes of the future would be more obscure. For example, a future event would be someone's house will be caught on fire or someone will get stabbed. Junie could be sitting on her stool getting ready to paint something and she would see smoke coming out of her canvas or a pool of blood on her floor. Her premonitions will be more of a puzzle that she has to solve than how Phoebe's were something she had to stop. Even though my story is leaning to be very serial with the whole "demon comes to town to kill us & steal our powers" stuff, there will be standalone episodes of the girls just protecting and saving innocents.

I'm playing with a different version of my own but it's still very, very embryonic. The idea of four sisters is what got me going - but rather than Wiccan witches, I want them to be Astrological Witches. Rather than sisters, they're cousins, but all four sets of parents died when the girls were young, so they've been raised together by another relative. Despite great differences in personalities, they're as close as sisters. All four cousins were born in the same year, but under different signs: Finola, who has bright red hair and a temper to match, was born in early March, so she's an Ares, a Fire sign. Elizabeth, who has deep brown hair and is calm and quiet, was born in late May, so she's a Taurus, an Earth sign. Angela, who has blonde-almost-white hair and is flighty and dreamy, was born in early June, a Gemini, an Air sign. Wanda, who has deep black hair with bluish highlights and changes moods quickly and often, was born in early July, a Cancer, a Water sign They can each create and control their own element. I like "Born Under a Sign" as a title. That's as far as I've gotten. If anyone likes this idea and wants to do more with it, go for it! You're right, Pheebs - this is GREAT fun!

And gotta admit I really like this idea, too. Your age difference between Patty and Paige wuld be similar to my own mom, my twin uncles, and me. Mom was 20 years older than I am, while Uncle Jimmy and Uncle Johnny were are 10 years older than I am and were much more like older brothers than uncles, so I could definitely see Patty's older sister playing the same role for Piper and Phoebe as they did for me. What I like best is that means that Paige doesn't have whitelighter powers. My mom also had another set of twin siblings, a brother and a sister, who were right in the middle between Mom and the other set of twins, so 15 years older than me, who were also like an older brother and sister for me. Thanks, Es. The idea of a cross-generational dynamic really appeals to me; although Prue and Piper took the lead in CC, they couldn't REALLY order their own sisters around when it came down to it. I think it would be very interesting to see Grams have to learn to become "equal" to her children and grandchildren and work with them, rather than always telling them what to do, in order for their Po5 to work effectively. I'm glad you liked the age gap between Patty and Paige; again I think this would be a very different sisterly relationship than Piper and Phoebe's. Though, if you noticed, I made Patty very much the opposite of the Oldest Child stereotype. I envisage Grams/Patty/Paige to have a similar dynamic to the OG Prue/Piper/Phoebe in terms of their personalities, with Piper and Phoebe pretty much the Babies. Though, as with your family, "Paige" WOULD feel a lot more sister-like to Piper and Phoebe than an aunt, so there's a lot of crossover there. Sometimes I found the sisters' roles too rigid in the OG series. Not ALL eldest siblings are "the responsible one". Yes, indeed! No WLs or Elders to be seen. I toyed with giving Patty healing powers actually, but it did take away a lot of the suspense in the original show. No WLs would simply allow the Halliwells to be more creative with their spells and potions. I think Piper and Phoebe would perhaps not know about their powers until the Pilot. I imagine Grams and Patty agreeing to stop the Po5 from forming when Phoebe was born by binding all their powers. However, the spell is naturally broken when Phoebe reaches the magical age of maturity (16, 18 or 21). This way, I think of the show as having a Sabrina-esque quality in which Piper and Phoebe get into a lot of magical mishaps to the exasperation of their grandmother and mother, with Paige being the "Salem" of the family I hadn't thought of a name yet. I'm not sure about "Pentagram". Perhaps "Blessed Be" as it is a friendly nod to "Charmed" but still different. "The Power of Five" sounds too much like "Party of Five" Gotta admit I really like this, too. Not nuts on the name Sutton, but got a kick out of you setting her up as someone that The CW would like. Also wish you'd included premonitions, since I've always felt that to be the most important power since it shows the sisters who needs saving. Unless, like Deano (and I have a hunch like the rip-off), fighting demons is more important than protecting those who are innocent of the existence of magic - my definition of innocents. I wouldn't want fighting demons to be more important than saving Innocents. I'd always prefer a mix, which is why I gave my Power of Five two offensive powers (pyrokinesis and telekinesis), one defensive (freezing) and two supportive (shapeshifting and telepathy). I would make sure every family member's power and skillset got equal billing as I too find "Charmed: Fireball Extravaganza!" boring. The main reasons I switched premonitions to telepathy is that I find the former a bit restrictive in its scope and potential for growth. Plus, I've recently got into Marvel's 'Cloak and Dagger' tv series and the two main characters are able to "see" people's fears and hopes through visions when they touch them. Sometimes they see distinct memories and other times they can see more abstract/dream-like thoughts and ideas. I thought this seemed like a cool mix of OG Phoebe's power and telepathy. Ohh, do I love what you have set-up dear. I was thinking about playing around with an idea similar to yours. Typical Granny, wanting to find a way to include a Grams in hers. What I had in mind was the Charmed Ones being a mix of a Grams/Patty/Phoebe. But your idea works much better, and I like this set-up. Your version is good, that no need to bother adding in whitelighters or Elders, they have enough knowledge and wisdom among many generations, it wouldn't be needed dear. I think I like this because it's still exploring a sisterly relationship but a dynamic among different generations. Thanks Granny, much appreciated. Haha, can't beat a bit of Grams. I do wish that Penny and Patty had been more regular features. I agree - I'd would be happy to see the back of the WLs and Elders. Any of these reboot ideas on this thread would be much more female-centred, without the predominantly male WLs/Elders swooping in to orb the sisters away, heal them or boss them around. The Halliwells could achieve the same goals with their own magic. Plus, with five witches, we really wouldn't need any more magical creatures taking up space

Oops! Sorry, GrannyCharmed, I almost missed yours! Own world dear. I think for this thread we'll try and not have anything that exists in the Classic Charmed universe. Trying to make a better attempt at doing what CW is trying to do with theirs. Oops! I missed the fact that it can't exist in the CC universe. Then mine obviously doesn't work. Actually the more I think of it it, the more I like *your* setup, Grams, although like Deano, I prefer Prudence rather than Penny for Grams (and I'd have her do the full Prudence), Patience for Patty and Paige for Phoebe (and, yes, I'm giggling that without even trying, I left Piper out of it - she took up too much space as is!) The more I think of it, I think five might end up being a bit too much, especially during battles - and much as I hate them, I know they'd be part of it, as long as they're not the most important part of it - unless you go back to my idea of giving Prudence (Grams) premonitions and leaving her out of the battles, but let her be their version of Leo with all of the knowledge needed to help them out - a bit like how Astral Echo used the older brother. I think I like that idea best - a combination of a number of the ideas, especially if the other four powers were the elemental powers that I gave mine - Patience: Earth, Paige: Air, Piper: Fire, and Phoebe: Water

Actually, that might work. Have it being four powers and using the elemental ones to make up the other four and have Prudence/Grams just being the guide like Leo but has Premonitions. So it's really the other four who make up the unit for battles. That reminds me of that show Witches of East End, which had a focus on two sets of sisters making up four they focused on. A Mother, Her Sister, and two daughters. I do think to have five women making a power of five, does feel a little crowded. But just shifting the Prudence/Grams character away from what makes up the power of four, and making her the guide but giving her just the power of Premonitions, That would work. I put together my own. Just a little rough, of course, I loved what others have done and just decided to come up with something of my own. "Elemental Witches"BACKSTORY:Prudence "Grams" Warren once said everything happens for a reason, but nothing comes without a price. Decades ago, Prudence learned that her family would soon become the powerful Elemental Witches. Her two daughters, Patience and Paige soon learn the craft from their mother, in order to prepare them for what will eventually happen to their own children. Paige gives birth to a daughter, Peyton as a teenager. But when Paige's powers are unbound, all hope is lost. Peyton eventually falls prey to her warlock father who eventually gets her to use her powers for evil, and when she kills an innocent willingly she becomes a warlock. Peyton eventually is tragically killed, before Phoebe is born. But when Patience gives birth to her second daughter, Phoebe, Patience and her mother and sister agree to have her two children sent away to be raised by their father and have a normal childhood and be protected. The family also relocates to the other side of the country and a cloaking spell is placed on Piper, Phoebe and their father for protection. Piper and Phoebe have been raised without any knowledge of being witches until Prudence has a premonition which shows that someone is after Piper and Phoebe and that the two are in danger. Their father is murdered, by a warlock who had come to get their powers, Patience, and Paige eventually comes to the aid of Piper and Phoebe and tell them the truth about being witches. Piper and Phoebe finally embrace their destiny and learn they both have the elemental power of Fire and Water, and their mother Patience has the elemental power of Earth and their aunt Paige has the elemental power of Air. Together with the guidance of their Grams who has premonitions and knowledge to guide her children and granddaughters. The women set out to battle and protect the innocent from warlocks and demons. CHARACTERS:
Prudence (Grams) Warren: Has the Elemental power of SpiritPatience Warren: Has the Elemental power of EarthPaige Warren: Has the Elemental power of Air Piper Warren: Has the Elemental power of FirePhoebe Warren: Has the Elemental power of Water and we pretty much stuck with that. The only thing we changed was the name from "Elemental Witches" to "Elemental Charmed" to give proper credit to Classic Charmed. And from there it became a Charmed Cafe project with AW giving us our own sub-sub-board in the Fanfiction section.

Feel free? I love reading fanfics, so writing them and doing ideas isn't something I do much at all. If someone can help me work a better way of using Peyton, feel free. I just wanted some meaty backstory and a reason Piper and Phoebe get sent away to live with their father. Thanks in advance. Just like I told Pheebs, I don't think you need to change yours at all, SummerReading - I totally completely love it, especially with what you do with Peyton - in all cases, you took what I did and brought it together, making my idea even better. The only thing it needs is just a bit of editing, something I love doing, so I hope you don't mind me proof-reading yours - just to make it read a bit smoother. Naturally, being Es, I had to add more from Deano's ideas and some of my own. If you don't like what I added - if it's not what you had in mind - feel free to edit it back to what you had – you won’t upset me if you do, especially because I’m not nuts with what I came up with – it’s done more as a way to inspire others to have the same fun of trying to make it better. I did change your title just a bit so it could properly give its nod to Charmed while still making it its own show, the way I wish the ripoff had. In the same way, If you or anyone else deciding to have fun doing something more with the idea doesn't like that title, feel free to change to back. Hmmm, that really didn't come out quite the way I wanted it to, so if anyone else wants to continue with the fun of editing it - go for it! I'm particularly not happy with what I did with Patience's Elemental power of Earth, so if anyone can do something better, go for it! Deano, I switched parts of your description of Patience and Paige because I like the idea of the wacky aunt, and it fits their Elements better. And Patience would serve as the balance between Prudence and Paige long before Piper and Phoebe are born, keeping that role after they're born.

You must have read my mind, Es, as I was just about to say that I'm usually on the fence with regards to elemental powers because I struggle to think up practical uses for the Water and Earth powers. Fire's usefulness is obvious and I think the Air power could be depicted in the form of flying power or air ripple blasts (like Goddess Piper). However, I can't help be forcibly reminded of the Sea Hag and her silly water balls whenever I think of Water Manipulation However, I now see you've answered this by giving Phoebe freezing powers - would this resemble OG Piper's power, P. Bowen's ice-breath power or evil Piper's ice-freezing power in 'Bride and Gloom'? Earth seems to be the hardest power to think of something for. Perhaps an enhanced physical state so that the user was almost as perceptive as other land animals? I am thinking specifically of enhanced hearing, vision, speed and strength. Not superhero like, but better than humanly possible. I do absolutely LOVE the idea of Grams having the Spirit element in the form of premonitions.

Thanks Pheebs, this is very interesting and should help give others ideas. I'm beginning to think that maybe I'd have Patience have terraportation - using earth to transport (not sure how that works, but like the idea), while letting Paige be the one who could move things. Just skimming Paul's book, I found his Wind-Mover had something similar to TK. Paige explains it this way: So? What do you guys think? Now for sure I have to re-read the novel to see what Paul has the others do! I may not even decide to use them, but I am curious and it's been years since I read the novel last - about the time S9 first came out.

I can see how Earth is difficult. What about a power that allows them to control or manipulate the weather? I can see how Earth is difficult. What about a power that allows them to control or manipulate the weather? Thank you for all those resources, pheebs; they're an interesting read. I am beginning to think that maybe teleportation IS the way to go with the Earth power. If one had so-called dominion over the Earth, it would make sense for them to be travel to all areas of it unencumbered by technology. How about a similar teleportation to the Nymphs, who could do it via trees/soil etc. So each of the Charmed Ones and Leo find one of the Elementals - but when they do the ritual, they find they're missing one - and that's when they realize it's Spirit- and that's Darryl! Obviously he doesn't get premonitions, but it didn't take me long to make that particular jump. Yes, Deano, they ended up making a pentagram. I really tried hard to bring your idea of that into my backstory, but couldn't quite do it. If you can, go for it! I'm going to re-read the novel today and see what exactly each Elemental could do. When I find out I'll go ahead and post it here. I might end up changing my mind regarding what each Warren can do - or if I don't, maybe someone else will. What I liked best about these ideas so far is the only mention of men have been my own - Allen, Sam and Victor - and they're all dead. Of course men would eventually become part of the series, but at least of right now, none are stars or even co-stars, so different than either Classic Charmed or Ripoff Charmed. I could agree on TK for Paige, as you could argue that it is a manipulation of Air. Would you limit Piper's Fire power to just Fireballs, instead of Fire-throwing and Fire-starting? I think if she had Fireballs only she'd be less like to become "Power of One" because they are easier to avoid or deflect. Honestly, other ideas that have come to me for Patience are empathy or healing. Taking from the info pheebs has quoted, Earth seems a lot more abstract a power and so you could say that those with Earth powers are the kind, nurturing, "heart of the family" types like Patty. Either that or, yes, your teleportation idea would work.

How about a similar teleportation to the Nymphs, who could do it via trees/soil etc. Actually reading a different article on Wicca, nymphs *are* Earth Elementals so that sounds like a great idea. Oh, you're right! All right, low-level fireballs (get rid of low-level villains, but not high-level - how's that?) it is. Could she use one to get her stove going if she was having troubles with it? OH! You're right about that, and that truly fits Patty. In case you can't tell, especially because in mine, she's in her 40's, I see her more like our Patty than the one you described. I guess I see all of them as they were, just at different ages - Prue as a grandmother, Patty closer to Grams' age since she didn't die young, Paige older than her half-sisters, Piper the same and Phoebe still a student for the first time. Still reading the novel and haven't ran across the other Elementals yet, but, oh, am I enjoying this read! I so love how Paul writes the Charmed Ones - they're the Charmed Ones I love even when he includes the angry part of Piper, the slutty part of Phoebe and the ditzy part of Paige! But he does it in a way that makes me smile. Th way I love how Sheryl J. Anderson writes the classic set (hehehehe!), I love how he writes the reboot set (hehehehehe!)

Although I think this power was similar to Pyrokinesis or an advancement of it. I forget.

Thanks. I was nervous because doing something like this isn't something I do often. But, I'm so glad this thread has inspired others, as it has me. To come up with something. Me, too. It's become a board project which is always a lot of fun. We did the same thing a number of years ago when we were imagining what Charmed Children would be like without having to give each sister three kids. I had all sorts of fun combining the various versions into one which eventually inspired my own "Dream Charmed...with Children". This looks like we're having fun coming up with our own Rebooted Charmed. No problem at all - like I said, it's something I love to do, since I'm not good at coming up with original ideas, but I love using others' ideas by giving the ideas a twist... Like I keep saying - that's the fun of doing this as a group - something you might not think of, someone else might. And what they come up with might inspire you to come up with something even better! YAY! I'm so glad! OH! I must say I really like that idea, too, even though it would be something that would come out later. Hmmm. Obviously neither had I since I didn't know what you had in mind. But now it's making me think in all sorts of different directions. I'll think on it while I'm reading the rest of Paul's book and then let you know what I come up with. I will say that I'm thinking of getting rid of Pearl and letting Peyton have whatever power Phoebe ends up having. I'd let Peyton stick around long enough for Patience to meet and marry Victor and have Piper, making the family think that those five will be the Elemental Witches with each of Prudence's daughters having one child, who are cousins. Then let Peyton turn on her family and be vanquished, like what happened with Billie and Christy without that horrible crying scene of Billie's. But then Patience has Phoebe and they know it's those five who are the Elemental Witches. Then, a couple seasons into our series, Peyton can be shown as the true Big Bad - I like the true Big Bad being both female and a Warren... As for the powers. Yes, it's very difficult to come up with ones that will work. I'll try and have a little play later tonight or tomorrow, and see what I can come up with. Especially with all the ideas that Pheebs gave us, that sounds great! Me, too. I'll keep reading Paul's book and let all of you know what he thought each of the Elementals should be like. But nothing says we have to do the same things he did - all the fun of coming up with our own universe with our own rules![/quote]

This looks like we're having fun coming up with our own Rebooted Charmed. It has, hasn't it. That sounded like it was fun with Charmed Children. It inspired you to do your own - That great! But with a reboot or ripoff (as you put it) right around the corner, this is the perfect board project to keep us all busy or those who don't like or want to see it. Exactly - all part of the fun. It's so nice that everyone is coming together and contributing their own ideas. I hope that it inspires other members to jump in with their own, or think of ideas to further other ideas. Thanks. Was swirling around in my head. I just didn't think much more, because of course we're only at the start of the story outlines. YAY!!! I'm glad. I can't wait to see what Paul's book does to inspire you. I do think a set-up like that would work better with just Peyton and not Pearl. I love the true Big Bad being female and a Warren too. That really makes this story that much more personal and adds conflict between the Warren's over their disagreements over Peyton. Obviously, I can see them all taking sides and having different opinions. Very true with the ideas that Pheebs gave. It's what inspired me coming up with the Peyton story. Can't wait! That's absolutely right. We can all have our own rules and own story. After all Pheebs story is based on sisters and a brother, what I played with was being inspired by your set-up with Elemental powers and Deano's and parts of Pheebs fueled my own idea's. For what I might consider, I think the rules on Witches becoming Warlocks if they kill an innocent and a Warlock saving an Innocent willingly becomes a Witch fits perfectly with the idea's I want to play with.
