There is something that bothers me every time I watch the wendigo and has done for over 12 years!! You know how Agent Ashley Fallon AKA The Wendigo freaked out when Billy lit up his cigarette and then killed him - and how it’s a recurring thing throughout the episode as Billy keeps on saying ‘it hates fire’... did anyone notice how the writers had PRUE freak out in a big way when Billy lit his cigarette in the hospital? I know they werent supposed to smoke in there as she said but it was a totally pointless thing to just randomly throw into that episode if not for a reason. Why did they have Billy light up on the hospital and Prue jump and be all like ‘no no you can’t do that in here!’ Lol is Prue part wendigo?

Apart from common sense, no smoking in a hospital. I took it as just a recurring theme that it hates fire in the episode. Maybe Prue freaked out just because she takes smoking in hospitals seriously. I wouldn't put much more into it.

I guess they did that just to get viewers to remember Billy smoked for later when Ashley Fallon would freak out later. Prue's big freak out might have just been typical Prue.
It has been a while since I've seen this episode. I'll have to watch closely.

I think it was nothing more than showing he had a smoking habit to explain why he suddenly lights up a cigarette in his scene with agent Fallon.
