Do others agree that after vanquishing the source - that Phoebe should have received a lot more positive premonitions or helpful hints to make life easier?

I think that she just have received premonitions.  There were 3 separate storylines in seasons 5-8 where she did not use her power because she was uncertain about her own future. I appreciate the advancement in season 5, but there were plenty of innocent-saving opportunities before that where premonitions could be used. |

I was always super annoyed when she tried to receive a premonition and coudln't. That was always a huge "Eff U" from the writers to the fans, IMO.

Yeah I don't know if there was a plan to help phoebe progress with controlling her powers. It seemed like in Season 7 it was heading that way. |

On Youtube, I saw this video which some guy posted on about Phoebe's powers and where he was disillusioned how they'd not progressed further than they did.
He mentioned some suggestions which interested me and too thought Phoebe should've received more positive ones after vanquishing the Source
Firstly the intuition aspect could've been used more so she could anticipate any evils moves and avoid them say when Phoebe did hand to hand combat or when an energy ball was about to hit her which she could've felt with her empathy before seeing it vision wise.
Next bit would involve sensing like if they needed to find out which particular evils hunting someone or people Phoebe could touch the BOS and a vision of the perpetrator would pop in her head including how to vanquish it spell, potion or object saving research time although that would mean not actually looking in the book and be too easy which some fans mightn't have liked.
The third bit would be sensing danger if say a bit of scaffolding was gonna fall on someone or some people and Phoebe was nearby and sensed it triggering a vision then she could've run over and pulled whoever away from that which would extend her premonition power and show more present not past or future visions which we rarely saw.
The fourth part coupled with Phoebe's empathy would have her sense an innocents location where she'd feel them triggering a vision showing where they were which would work if the vision happened suddenly and the sisters hadn't access to scrying material or something belonging to the intended victim.

I thought that in doing so--her powers would increase and she would be powerful! Yeah there could have been a cool turning point where Phoebe could have been rewarded for vanquishing the source and been enabled to actually help people. She could have had positive premonitions or have been able to help people more through seeing their struggles and understanding them more. She would have loved that. And that's how she could have developed Empathy too. They didn't even need to show the premonition in Season 5, she could have just seen the past and the future and described it. They could have made premonition the BEST power. Esp because Patty/Melinda described it as the most coveted and wanted by evil. And this was true give how much dependence the Source had on the Oracle and the Seer. |
