-This was a very Charmed episode and I didnt mind it for the most part.
-It was nice at how much time TCO had together in this episode since I feel like they spend a lot of episodes apart and broken up into 2 sisters handle 1 storyline while another sister is paired up with one of the men in another.
-Still despise how much screentime and importance the guys have (outside of Harry).
-The Pixie actress was great and I liked just about everything they did with the character from beginning to end.
-Mel has THE WORST reaction timing, not only did she just stand there with more then enough time to freeze Harry when he took the book, she just stood there as some rando SHOOTS AN ARROW at her girlfriend!
-Maggies powers continue to grow since she can now full on communicate and break spells, at this pace she will probably go full on telepath instead of touch telepathy.
-Did Macy give up her virginity at the end? Is that what was implied?

I want to re-watch before posting all of my responses, but:
-this was a very nice episode in terms of 'solving a mystery' and all sisters working together.
-Oh, Mel: I thought she was going to freeze the arrows before they hit her and then episode would end. It's the classic Charmed dilemma where fans scream at the scream at an opportunity to use a power and it doesn't happen.
-I like Maggie's powers. They are really exploring the potential of the younger sister with the passive power. The OG Charmed had no interest at all in the passive/premonition power.
-OG Charmed had a lot of guy time. What is interesting for me is comparing the treatment of it. Romantic storylines are just part of any show.
-I think it's implied with Macy losing virginity. They've been getting along well and it's nice to have a mortal embrace the witchy stuff rather than the usual 'faint and fall' chronotope. This Charmed is good with follow up, so if it happened, I'm sure we'll know and deal with the fall out.

This Charmed is good with follow up, so if it happened, I'm sure we'll know and deal with the fall out. 1. As with any show of course they are going to stand around while something happens but they take it a bit to extreme in this episode where Mel has the opportunity to use her powers. She literally just stands there and watches them shoot at her girlfriend and is shocked when it hits her. 2. I would say they had plenty of interest in passive powers but they knew you cant do that much with passive powers. Phoebes premonitions were the most important power in the show (in the beginning). It helped them save countless lives and Phoebe trained her mind to get "active" premonitions but again...you cant do many interesting things with a passive power when fighting demons so she became a fighter. Of course as the series went on they could've given her more active premintions while in a fight. 3. OG Charmed had a lot of guy time later on in the series, but the first 4 seasons the guys did not get that much screen time and they didn't always help the sisters save the day. Parker/Harry have done more towards saving the sisters/helping them towards their goals then Andy/Darryl/Leo/Cole did in the first 3/4 seasons. The show also didnt bother hooking up EVERY sister with someone within 10 episodes. Prue had a complicated long term relationship with Andy, Phoebe dated around, and Piper had relationships here and there in the 1st season. 4. Having Macy just lose her virginity that easily would be so embarrassing, its been important to her and for her to give it up to a guy she's been seeing for like 3 episodes is kind of ridiculous.

Don't like the sound of this direction they are going with Macy and losing her virginity.
I thought they handle the virgin story better than her giving it away to a guy she has only been dating for a few episodes, and from what I hear most fans think the Macy/Galvin relationship has no chemistry at all.
It is a refreshing change to see a show have a character as a virgin in her late 20s especially. Let alone on The CW, I haven't watched many CW shows, but is that uncommon?

The last episode was the closest the show has gotten to Charmed. Unfortunately, it was like watching a really bad episode of Charmed. If you are a fan of both tthe original and the remake then this episode will likely be a winner. Jada, Maggie, and Parker would have made an interesting set of characters in a non-direct reboot of Charmed. If they just focused on three core characters and worked on their bond as a trio then the show would potentially be worth watching.

The good news is, this episode didn't make me almost fall asleep with boredom. I completely fell asleep in the middle of it. Even the dream I had didn't have this episode or this reboot in it.
I woke up gave it another try, but the experience was so dull that I had to play a video game alongside to make it through the end.
There was only one moment which caught me by surprise. After watching the promo, I expected to hate the Pixie with passing of a billion burning suns because she reminded me of nymphs and the annoying magical creatures of Charmed. But the Pixie was a really talented actresses. Her transition from this happy, naive, innocent to shock, horror and sadness at having killed people....that is the kind of acting I want which the leading ladies continuously fail to deliver.
But what is possibly the worst thing is giving Galvin a quest to pass some tests so he could get the super secret ritual to get demon blood out of Macy. And Macy just tosses her virginity for her boyfriend's horrible storyline?
Also I wish someone would just nuke the million sub-plots they having going on as if they're Game of Thrones. Characters have to be a hell lot of interesting first, including the ones the show is supposed to be about in the first place.
But so far it seems like the reboot is about Parker, Galvin and Harry, with occasional appearances from Jada and their romance with the sisters
I give this episode an F.

I don't get the obsession with virginity. Neither the show's or this board's members. It's 2019! It's a really personal thing. So Macy waited until she was ready, and she was ready in this episode and I'm glad that the show ultimately treated it as a non-event, although that's likely because that's how the show's writers treat most things in this show.
