Will Ellen Tamaki play Niko in season 2 then based on the news below that she's booked a recurring role on NBC's new show 'Manifest' filmed in New York, unlike Canada where Charmed is. deadline.com/2019/08/manifest-andrene-ward-hammond-ellen-tamaki-recur-season-2-nbc-series-1202705626/"and Ellen Tamaki (Charmed) are set for recurring roles opposite Melissa Roxburgh on the upcoming second season of NBC’s hit missing plane drama series Manifest, from Jeff Rake, Warner Bros. TV, Universal Television and Compari Entertainment." I hope she does as I liked her character and seeing it's only a recurring, not a regular role Ellen could film both roles either at two different times or do a Simon Cowell a la Britain's and America's Got Talent where he does both shows at the same time although that could be a problem I understand. I know she won't be around when Charmed season 2 starts as she's filming Manifest now then which the script could explain why maybe because Niko's coming to terms with what happened in season 1's finale or wants to learn to accept Melonie and her sister's magic by herself perhaps.

But I heard unlike most networks, The CW tends to renew all their shows regardless of ratings. I remember reading this past season, they didn't cancel anything at all that was a freshman show. Is that a first. It is hardly a hit, but I wonder how S2 will do with these new showrunners I heard being hired. TheCW has canceled plenty of freshman shows if ratings werent up to par and they failed to bring in viewers on Netflix but if you're able to get to S2 then you are golden for at least 4 seasons, that much is certain. They also are obligated to have x amount of CBS produced shows on the network which Charmed is one of those shows. So yes, the show will at least have half the life span of the OG series.

Which would work if they have good season 3 and 4 plots ending on a high like Supernatural season 5 with their original apocalypse storyline not dragging on afterward of course.

This sounds okay except I don't want season 2 been all about romance and sex scenes or Mel, Macy, Maggie whining constantly about things.
I don't want Harry and Macy getting together if it's them that is because he should just be the girls White Lighter father figure and friend nothing else to them. If anything does happen it's once through Supernatural forces trying to distract them whilst they're after an innocent perhaps Harry and Macy see the light and sickened by their actions never do anything again.
I like that they'll venture outside of Hilltowne and go elsewhere something original Charmed rarely did.
And I'm interested learning more about Harry's life and his family if he had a wife, brothers or sisters what happened with his son Carter in terms of how he got sick and how he became a White Lighter if they do a 'Saving Private Leo' style episode different with him obviously.

I just started watching the reboot again a few days ago. I had watched the Pilot episode when it first came out and I hated it. The acting sucked and I just really wasn't a fan of it at first. I started watching again a few days ago and realized that it's not bad once you get past the first episode. I'm currently on episode 7 and so far the show is decent.
I saw the promo poster for season 2 on twitter and I don't know if it's just me but I feel that Harry wasn't needed on the poster with them. Like I know he's their whitelighter but the show is mainly supposed to be about the sisters. And I see fans online trying to push the writers to put Harry in a relationship with Macy and I really hope that doesn't happen. I think it's too early to be pushing romance storylines between one of the sisters and their whitelighter. I don't want Harry and Macy to happen at all. Why can't he just remain their whitelighter/friend? I just think it's too early to be doing romance stoeylines but from what I've seen the writers say it looks like they're gonna try to push this Harry/Macy relationship anyway

Exactly. I mentioned that in a post previously.
Season 2 should focus on the sisters and innocents, their family, and Harry's backstory rather than who next they'll sleep with.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_YZPIT7Xus*** SPOILERS *** So the Book of Shadows has been destroyed by a mysterious demon that killed Harry (but he came back before the end of the episode), the Power of Three and the sisters' individual powers are gone for now and they all live in Seattle with their Manor (so Hilltown is gone too). It seems like Mel will write their own Book of Shadows during the season and the sisters will learn more about what it means being witches. Their powers will be back before the end of the season but this time they'll have to gain them.

So they are relocating. Looks like the new showrunners are really rebooting. A brand new location means all the characters from S1 are gone but the sisters and Harry.
I'm sad the book is destroyed. That part I don't like.

Wow I didn't think this much would change.
That means no Niko or Jada then?
Obviously they don't have a repairing spell like the Vanishing one original Charmed did to fix the house and BOS I guess.
It will be interesting seeing them adjust to a new environment and new spell book subsequently.

I like the idea of them starting fresh because the first season was messy, sloppy and had no pace with its structure. There wasn't even a connected story other than Macy's demon side and what happened with their mother. But those elements get swept away (still hate what happened with Charity and Fiona) however I am looking forward for season 2. As for their supporting cast, unsure about Niko. But honestly if any of them had any high chance of recurring it would be Parker. As much as it pains me to say it he's the mostly likely to make guest appearances.
Out of all the love interests in Season 1, Maggie/Parker is the only one to be left without any conclusion. Parker had to go off to "control his demon half" while Jada was forgotten late in the season and Niko/Mel seemed very concluded (Galvin is also dead, so there's that as well) there's also the fact Nick Hargrove is close friends with Sarah Jeffery.
According to the wiki of the reboot Nick Hargrove and Ellen Tamaki will no longer be series regulars, this does NOT deconfirm them however, it just means they will no longer be main characters. I'm honestly fine with this, Parker would work better as an ally who shows up here and there to help the sisters and not a terrible love interest with little personality who's only purpose is defined as Maggie's demon boyfriend. If Parker would come back I'd like for their relationship to conclude, but have him be an ally who helps out in certain stories and plots. Maybe the Jordan character they introduce will make up for the lack of interesting love interests?
I really hope this season De-powers them in some way the girls were way to powerful for the level they were at. They didn't have the experience of first time witches, but rather were given power boosts to compete with some of the strongest foes. Season 2 seems to downplay their powers and hopefully will develop there powers in a natural way.

So looks they are starting fresh and going a full-on re-do of the show.
De-powering them with all those powers is a smart decision. From what I read, they seemed to be adding too many powers to the sisters.
And now, it looks like the supporting cast but Harry is all gone, and they have relocated the characters to a whole new town.
I haven't seen any of the show, but I wonder if the new showrunners might just do things right.

The first episode back only got 696k with a 0.2 in the demo. Ouch. And that's only the first episode, wonder how low the show will go this season. They are lucky they are on the CW.
