Billy Drago, a character actor whose best-known roles were as Hollywood villains, has died. He passed on Monday, June 24 in Los Angeles, according to his publicity firm. No cause of death was given.

Born William Eugene Burrows Jr., Drago appeared in more than 100 film and television roles.

His most well-known roles were as hitman Frank Nitti in Brian De Palma’s 1987 film The Untouchables and In TV series Charmed he played Barbas in several episodes over five seasons, alongside Shannen Doherty, Alyssa Milano and Holly Marie Combs.

He also guest starred as scary bad guys in popular cult shows Supernatural and the X-Files.

Survivors his sister Patt;, brother Steve; and his two sons, actor Darren Burrows and Derrick Burrows; as well as several grandchildren. His wife, actress Silvana Gallardo, with whom he worked on many projects, died in 2012.

No details on a memorial service have been announced.

Sad to hear Billy's passing. He was good as Barbas whom I know him for plus his one stint Supernatural episode then.

I know him from more than just Charmed. Supernatural and X Files too.

I just knew him from Charmed - never saw him on anything else, but he'll always be one of the bad guys I loved to hate, even if I think they reused him too much - he should've just been the Demon of Fear and only come back ever 1300 years - he was never as scary as he was in S1. But that was the producers' and writers' faults, not him. He always did a great job acting as the Demon of Fear.

Yes after our re-watch of S1, he was fabtastic in his first appearance. I do think he got reused too often. But the actor still played him well. As Es said that was the writers and producers fault not him.

He was fantastic and totally scary in his first episode, watching that one in HD. Oh boy, was it terrifying, and he played him so well and every time, even if, I wished he wasn't brought back so often, at least I could enjoy his portrayal of it.

I had heard. I didn't realize how young he was at the time of his death . . . only 73. I not only remember him from "CHARMED", but also television miniseries like "THE CHISHOLMS" and "NORTH AND SOUTH: BOOK II". But I especially remember him from the 1987 movie, "THE UNTOUCHABLES".
