Compared to the first episode of this season and this one I did prefer the former more because of the drama and tension there and the sisters working together as a team which I miss and wish was back again.
I liked Jordan and Maggie who had good chemistry and the people from last week clearly work for Aunt Vivian obviously who owns the lab where they tested the Black Amber previously.
I'm not taken with Macy rebounding Julian because of Harry who she needs to tell if she loves him not only encase he goes off with Abigael which I hope not happens but also as it's not fair her toying with Julian who clearly likes Macy.
Abigael, I can't make heads nor tails whether she cares for Harry or just has some ulterior motive which I hope gets explained.
I just want the sisters back going forward working together as a team like Prue, Piper, and Phoebe because at the moment I'm sorry to say Classic Charmed season 2 is trumping this reboot overall, unfortunately.

As devil's advocate, next/this episode seems like a sisterly focused episode. One thing I can appreciate is that they can separate and tackle different adventures/demons independently but usually do needing each other toward the end. A major criticism I have of OG Charmed was:
a) in the earlier seasons, always facing demons together - where it was really Prue fighting. Phoebe's power use plummeted in season 2 and while she could fight, that wasn't tied to advanced intuition or reflexes. And Piper, as she once put it, just "tagged along and froze things." Piper actually had quite a bit of story lines separate from Prue and Phoebe at Quake (1.13, 1.14, 3.26).
b) later seasons, Phoebe had done very little, Paige was the taxi, Piper blew things up. OG OG Charmed was super creative when it came to power development/use.
I believe the writers even addressed this in an interview: when are siblings naturally doing everything together? I do enjoy that they are all exploring and doing things tied to their own development.
Building on point B, I like the efforts made this season for a story line that transcends the whole season.
Season 2 of OG Charmed was excellent in terms of sister moments and chemistry between the actresses but the only story arc was Dan, Leo, and Piper. It does seem like there is thought behind a season story arc here and I'm genuinely interested in how they are developing it.
I think I've come to terms with there being no BoS. Guess the Book of Elders is its replacement. Though I do like earlier efforts to recreate the BoS.

Once you have the BoE, a BoS seems like a downgrade. However, they should at least be trying to recreate or rather resurrect their family's BoS since it likely has things in it that the BoE doesn't have. Things related to their status as Charmed that their mother might have left behind.
I understand most of the regulars here seem to hate the reboot, but I absolutely love it more than the original. I definitely haven't gotten angry at any of the choices made by the sisters yet, and the few choices they've made that I found disagreeable, have often been dealt with by the end of the episode they happened.
The only thing the original and even season 1 of the reboot had over the season 2 reboot is that they had far more moments of levity and normalcy. I really want more of that, but I understand that it's hard to include those moments when the sisters are in such a vulnerable and difficult situation. It feels like Season 2 has taken a lot of inspiration from the Magicians in that regard.
