I have never picked up on this before, but this season sure did like having episodes with demons or evil beings from the past being summoned to wreck havoc.
Painted World (the warlocks)
That Old Black Magic (Tuatha)
Ms. Hellfire (Barbas)
Pardon my Past (Anton)
How to Make a Quilt... (Cryto) Be Careful... (The Genie)
Several episodes did not even have evil beings: Morality Bites Animal Pragmatism Awakened Astral Monkey
And with the exception of the premiere and finale. The Charmed Ones are rarely the targets of demons who want to take out the Charmed ones.

This is true.
The Charmed Ones didn't have a a big ego thrust upon them like they did later when the show focused on their kids being the innocents. Even Season 1 has Hannah, Rex and Rogdreges chasing after them or their powers.
Even the not so great episodes have good back stories.
I love Season 2.
Also another theme is the 'lessons' learned - basically in each episode which builds on their characters and the mythodology of being witches.
But you are so right - the demons didnt target them because they were the Charmed Ones.
Usually it was innocence that were targets or TCO's stumbling upon trouble.
Its why I wish the Season 7 and 8 finales were about saving innocents - rather than themselves (and well Billie)

Excellent attention to detail! I agree with your assessment. Wish it was a little less Dan centric, though.
