Been seeing some random Charmed episodes and randomly I decided to check out the episodes with Drake in them and I want to say going back and watching I absolutely loved the chemistry between Phoebe and Drake, it was by far one of my favorite romances in the show. Drake was pretty much Phoebe's best love interest, considering how toxic her relationship with Cole was (and destroyed her character) and the rest of them were uninteresting or bad, especially when during that point Phoebe's love life had grown repetitive and boring, Drake really stood out. He was such a charming guy and seemed to be perfect for her, he also made Phoebe less annoying when he's around her when she was my lest favorite, I could've easily bought these two as endgame. Their chemistry in Show Ghouls alone made me love them a lot! I'll always love this scene right when Drake is about to leave you could see some of Old Phoebe. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tjwx4f5WKHkOn top of that I enjoyed every moment he was onscreen, you could feel how fun the actor was having and was doing his best with what he had to work with, he was by far one of the best characters on the show, if only he'd stayed. However I always hated the way they ended Drake's arc. Turning Drake into Cole's errand boy last minute not only made Cole's entire existence revolve around Phoebe and her love life, even in death. Despite that it makes me excited when we eventually get to this point. What do you guys think? |

I loved Drake, and Billy Zane did seem like he was having a ton of fun playing him.
Drake was the best option for Phoebe to end up with by far. She tended to mirror who she was with, meaning that while Cole brought out her darker nature, Drake brought out her lighter one. He was fun and completely accepting of magic while not being so tied up in it like Cole. Phoebe was so in love with magic itself that she needed someone who not only knew about it but was magical as well. And because she tended to play off of who she was with, the better of a person someone else was, the better Phoebe herself would be.
She and Leo would be a good match in most cases, except Leo was a little too happy to be the type to stay home and be more content with the simple things. That's not a bad thing at all, but Phoebe was a little more adventurous than that.
Drake exemplified all three things that made him and Phoebe a great match: magical, outwardly good and kind, and with a great sense of fun.

I loved Drake based on his personality and zest for life.
He was a well-written character though my only gripe was him being sent to Phoebe by Cole which I would've preferred not having happened.
Drake like season 2 Cupid was a good match for her relationship-wise who would've made Phoebe realise she didn't need a baby to be happy giving up her quest as a result obviously.
It's a shame, Billy didn't occur more starting after he made the deal with the sorcerer through to the end when he passed.
Drake would've definitely made the first half of season 7 more bearable as a result and not with just making Phoebe feel more like her season 1 and 2 self which we saw from 'Carpe Demon' to the 'Seven Year Witch'.
His 3 episodes had he been around all year could've been spread out.
Phoebe and Drake had good chemistry and similar interests which worked well for them.
That time made me like Phoebe as a character again which could've lasted all year during Drake's tenure.
Drake could've got Phoebe her premonition power back by having her get in touch with people again helping her earn that through adventures they both had like in 'Show Ghouls' then.
Another story might've had him suspicious of the Avatars intentions like Kyle did whilst getting used to the deal he made which be and Phoebe could've secretly investigated finding out what that was which I wouldn't have minded storyline-wise also of course.

If you could switch character arcs, I'd switch Drake and Cole (with Drake having two seasons and Cole having two episodes), the way I'd switch Mark with Leo (Mark getting 8 seasons while Leo gets one episode) which, in turn, would let me continue to love Piper and Phoebe. The idea of Phoebe reflecting the guy she's with is an interesting one--I just don't see Coop that way. Oh, yeah, with my switches, I'd also switch Coop and how-ever-many episodes he had with Cupid and his single one. *sigh* If only! So glad we can do things differently for CCDOW! |

In my opinion Drake seemed to combined the best attributes of the Season 2 Cupid and Billy. I loved the scene because her smiling with him was really an old Phoebe thing to do. I also loved his parting words "Think of me when you dance" I really wish he hadn't just be a plot in Cole's scheme, he really would've been the perfect guy for her. Thus she wouldn't have needed to man hunt and could've returned back to Phoebe.

I would like if Phoebe had truly been ashamed of her season 4 actions and chose to not date for a long time until she meets Drake in season 7. Then I wish he hadn't been bound by the rules of his curse and was allowed to live, having come into her life on his own rather than as some pawn of Cole's.
I could see her in season 5 taking time to work through all that happened and mourn Cole and their unborn child. Then Wyatt is born, Chris comes back, and her focus is on her nephews. Then the whole thing with the Avatars takes up time and attention as well. Maybe by the time Drake comes around she's worked through her issues and forgiven herself, and that's when they start their relationship. It would be ironic in a really fun way that after a relationship with one demon nearly ruined her life, a relationship with another one would turn out to be one of the more positive things that happened to her.

Or if Drake had to die, have Phoebe pregnant with his child in S8 (wouldn't happen because Alyssa didn't want to wear the "pregnant tummy" that Holly had to wear in S5 -she was actually pregnant in S6 and S8, but this is where we get to decide what we would've liked to see). That would've given her a chance to become a grownup version of Phoebs, rather than the childish version of PhoeME that we got stuck with. Of course, The WB wouldn't have liked it - they wanted all of the hunky male guest stars, not understanding that fans were more interested in the sisters than their guys (Cole and Chris unfortunate exceptions). No wonder The WB died. |

You can do it as episode summaries, as season summaries, as press releases (like we did Elemental Charmed and like how we're doing Classic Charmed Done Our Way (CCDOW)) - whatever works for you!! Phoebe was solely responsible for the uglier aspects of her nature. Cole didn't cast some spell to make her misbehave. I suspect the main reason Drake may have been "better" for her was because he was willing to give up his powers. Which I think is nonsense. If Phoebe wanted the likes of Cole or Drake to give up their powers, she should have been willing to give up hers. Being a witch would have endangered them anyway with them being powerless.

If Phoebe wasn't going to end up with Cole than Drake should have been the person she ended up with. I have always loved the idea of her ending up with someone, who not morally evil but born evil, she is someone who is attracted to the dark side, so her ending up with someone like Coop never made sense to me.
I would also have enjoyed to watch what Grams would say about it or her family knowing that now there is a demon in their family tree but atlas they didn't go down the, in my opinion, correct route for her romantically. I still would have her be the mother to three girls but I would had wanted a demon to be the father.

Phoebe/Drake was my favorite pairing for Phoebe. I really wished Phoebe ended up with Drake. They had great chemistry.
I also wished we got Drake than Cole, but if we had to keep Cole, Shannen and Julian had better chemistry than Alyssa/Julian.

I wouldn't have minded if Drake was introduced in any of the earlier seasons provided his character wasn't butchered of course otherwise had him be Phoebe's main boyfriend in season 7 as I mentioned previously.

I wouldn't mind him having powers, but I wouldn't want their kids to be half demon (if this is even possible). If so, maybe just shimmering? Drake could continue teaching at magic school with Paige/Leo. Maybe their children could be more easily influenced by evil? Since their father is a Demon? He does have a few "netural powers" which I would have loved him to keep. I love Shimmering but I would have loved if he had Conjuring or Thermal Blast (which I know is a power that is associated with Evil). |
