Murphy’s Luck.
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the, Charmed characters they all belong to Aaron Spelling productions except Melissa
Hale who's my own, creation.
Authors Notes: This's series three of my, Charmed season, which continues a week after "All Hell Breaks Loose"
Note: Hiya folks & welcome to my new season of Charmed. My stories will be different as they were then but still have the same outcome so the episodes fit together. Everyone who was there will still, be here minus Prue & Phoebe who's dead of course & some other characters that were introduced will be back this season. I'll still be using spells from the show & some I create myself which be different but still have the same effect & better sounding. I may use some stories from season two as episode fillers to outweigh the main storyline going on here or I may not. I'll see about that when it comes along.
Extra Note: A Darklighter curses Melissa after she helps a girl falling off a building ledge which has consequences on the eldest Charmed One for the time being. Will Piper, Cole Paige save her before it's too late? Plus, Cole must decide whether he tells Mel he loves her despite Phoebe Halliwell being dead two months since.
Episode Seven
P3 Nightclub Exterior Thursday Twenty October
A crowd waited outside whilst security guards checked their bags letting in a few at a time.
Clubroom
Inside music blared over the sound system as Cole and a bartender named Dave talked by the drinks station with Piper
and Paige mingling at their usual booth in the corner and Mel off in the lady's restroom.
The two men converse about Phoebe plus Cole's feelings for Mel he now has apparently.
"So, when are you, goanna tell Mel you like her then?" Dave inquired.
The ex ADA shook his head stating. "I don't know Dave." "Phoebe only died two months ago."
Dave nodded understandably saying, "Right."
Cole went on spouting. "Doing that would dishonour her memory you know what I mean."
"Perhaps." The bartender stated. "Grief affects people in different ways but then you can't help who you fall in love with
either hey? Especially if you've known the person a long time who's helped you deal with that."
"I understand." Cole laughed a bit touting. "Though if I did tell Mel and her family fought out Piper would certainly kill
me."
"Families are protective of one another naturally," Dave repeated. "But you can't keep things bottled up forever Cole."
"You’re going to have to tell Mel how you feel some point mate."
"I know agreed." The brown-haired man nodded before Piper and Paige commented what happened in the last two
weeks.
"I get Mel wasn't going with anyone till we'd defeated the Source after she called off her engagement with Sam but it's
a shame Eric and his father left," Paige uttered. "Mel and Eric had good chemistry I think."
"Absolutely but nothing happened Paige," Piper remarked. "I mean they didn't date or anything."
"True but the potential to was though." The younger half-sister added. "And if Eric fought out Mel was a witch again
although he forgot that after the Collectors died, I'm sure he’d accept that still then."
"Perhaps." The club owner sparked. "But with things happening quicker than anticipated it's probably best we all keep a
clear head in terms of the future currently."
Golden Gate Bridge
The sun rose over The Golden Gate Bridge next day before the door on a rooftop opened up with a young blonde
woman walking out from that.
Rooftop Building
A girl named Maggie strolled over towards the edge of the building. A Darklighter appeared invisibly behind her there.
"What am I doing?" Maggie said. "This isn't me."
Her assailant replied. "Of course, it is." "It's all my fault." "The car accident, the fire, my brother's death." "I hurt the
ones I love."
Looking on sadly the girl spoke. "I hurt the ones I love."
"I have to stop it." The Darklighter added.
"I have to stop it," Maggie repeated. "I don't deserve to live."
"This is who I am." The bald guy boasted. "Cursed."
"I'm cursed." She cried coming up to the edge ready to jump.
People and Police Officers gathered below looking up at Maggie as the Darklighter disappeared.
"She's going to jump." One person noted.
"Someone do something." Another surmised.
Roaming down the street opposite Mel seeing the crowd glanced up noticing what they cited.
"What the?" She expressed horrifyingly before astral projecting suddenly in behind Maggie.
Surprised what happened astral Mel spoke out alerting the woman ahead. "Don't do it." "I'm sure there's another way
to sort out whatever's happening."
Placing her hand out the eldest Charmed One continued verbalized. "Please come away from the ledge?"
Shocked Maggie catechized. "Who are you? How did you get here?
Shaking her head astral Mel stated, "That doesn't matter." "What does is you." "Now take my hand."
The woman put her hand out saying, "Stay away from me."
"This isn't the answer please." Her helper pleaded.
"Yes, it is." Maggie reacted. "I deserve to die after what I did."
"No, you don't," Mel explained. "There's a better way than that." "Talk to me."
"You don't understand." The younger woman cried. "All I wanted to do was help people." "Now all I do is hurt them."
Maggie lost her balance falling over the ledge screaming. Mel grabbed her arm before she fell any further then.
The crowd below gasped horrified as Maggie whispered. "Let me go."
Shaking her head, the golden brown-haired woman slated. "No." "Come on." Trying to pull her up more.
Her grip on the woman faltered causing her to fall screaming with the crowd reacting also.
"NO!" Mel shouted astral projecting back into her body afterwards.
Thinking quickly the witch cast a spell making the wind blow Maggie onto the awning of the building next door rolling
safely onto the ground before the crowd surrounded her.
"WINDS OF AIR GATHER AROUND. HELP THIS GIRL TO THE GROUND."
The police dispersed everyone checking Maggie over subsequent amazed how there wasn't a scratch on her there.
"You okay miss?"
Maggie seeing Mel in the distance put her hand out calling. "Wait." As her saviour walked off noting she was alright.
The Darklighter seeing this muttered angrily. "Of all the luck." Before he went off himself.

Clubroom
Sitting around one of the round tables Mel finalised details with the manager of a band she'd booked to play P3 the
following evening.
Newspaper clippings and a 415 article on Maggie were laid out in front of her also.
Paige walked downstairs whom Mel seeing acknowledged before restarting what she'd said, "Okay everything's sorted
and the minibus's booked for around 5 pm so the band should get here 5.30 then." "If there are any problems give me
a call and I'll sort it okay?" "Great see you tomorrow evening."
The bob haired woman hung up then sighed reading one of the clippings showcasing the bad luck the person she'd
saved had recently.
"Hey, Mel you okay?" Paige probed quietly.
Looking up she quipped. "Not really." "I saved a girl an hour ago who tried committing suicide falling off a building."
Her aunt went wide-eyed shocked. "Oh, my days."
"It was lucky I thought off a spell quickly," Mel explained. "Although reading from these articles and 415 print Maggie's
had a lot of bad luck recently it seems.
"Maggie Murphy, the Irish woman that featured on that local documentary Monday last week?" Paige questioned.
"I guess although I never watched it." Her opponent spoke.
"How come that happened with all the charity work she's been doing?" The other solicited inquisitively.
"Well, there was a car accident, a house fire and her brother dying which Maggie was someone involved in." Mel
stumped.
"Jeez, no wonder she wanted to jump then." Paige figured. "It was a good thing you were there."
"Indeed." Her niece admitted.
"Wait no-one saw what you did right?" The longer-haired woman voiced.
Shaking her head Mel answered. "No, I was across the street."
"Right." Paige acknowledged before resuming. "It's a shame nothing can be done for then."
An idea popped in Mel's head as she said, "Hmm." thinking carefully.
Police Station
Half an hour later Darryl took Maggie inside the main room at the Police Station. She stopped at the doorway.
"Miss Murphy?" Darryl quizzed slightly.
"I-I can't go in there." She replied.
"You don't have a choice." The cop ordered.
"Am I being arrested?" Maggie posed.
Shaking his head Darryl remarked. " No, but there's some paperwork we have to get through."
"Are there guns in there?" The lady asked.
"It's a police station, miss." Her opponent stated.
"You'll want to keep those out of the way because they might go off." Maggie implied. "Things like that happen around
me and I don't want anybody getting hurt."
"I'm more concerned about you hurting yourself." Darryl aforesaid. "Come on, nothing's going to happen."
They ambled into the room.
"You don't understand." She mentioned.
"Trust me," He said.
"You can't help me. Nobody can." Maggie cried.
Both sit on a bench.
The Darklighter tottered in seeing Darryl and Maggie. He marched outside and magically changed into police officer
clothes before going back in staying near the corner of the room listening.
"We're going to find somebody who can." Darryl engaged. "But first you’ll have to answer a few questions about what
happened an hour and a half ago."
" I don't know." The smaller girl countered. "It felt like a bad dream, but then not in a way," "A voice in my head."
"Everything spinning."
Could she be schizophrenic but off her medication perhaps Morris thought for one second before reviving. "Is there
somebody you want me to call?" "Family, friends?"
"No, keep them away from me, they're safer there," Maggie emitted. "I shouldn't be here." "I shouldn't even be alive.
"If it hadn't had been for that angel.
"Angel?" He asked nosily.
"Yes, she appeared out thin air when I was on the rooftop and reached out her hand and then when I was falling it was
like something slowed me down like, she guided me onto that awning." The girl voiced.
"The angel?" Darryl interrogated again.
"Hmm, she saved me," Maggie indicated.
"What did this woman look like exactly?" The homicide detective said,
She murmured that as Darryl saw Mel standing outside the office.
“Excuse me.” He crooned getting up going over to her closing the door behind him.
"Mel, what're you doing here?" Darryl queried.
"Checking up on Maggie." Mel expressed. "Is she okay?"
"Safe for now by you it seems if you were outside 413 North Fergus Ave an hour and a half ago then. He pointed.
"How's she coping now?" The woman queried.
"That's not for me to say but psyche which we have to send her over to obviously. " Darryl noted.
“Maggie's not crazy Darryl," Mel commented. "She’s just had a lot of bad luck recently."
They see her knock over a coat stand, through the door which lands on the bench before plastic cups fall on the floor."
"I'm sorry." Maggie broadcasted.
"Look I might've stopped her killing herself earlier," The Charmed One replied. "But that doesn't mean she won't try
again unless I help her."
The copper looked worried slightly hearing that. “Help her how exactly?” “What’re you going to do Mel?” “Please don’t
tell me.”
Putting her hand out Mel related. “Darryl it’s okay.” “I’m just going to give Maggie a bit of good luck hopefully.” “This
won’t harm or affect her, you or the Police Station anyway I promise.”
Calming down after a minute Darryl trusting her nodded saying, “Alright wait here a sec.”
He walked back inside and got Maggie a cup of coffee which he gave her afterwards then. “I brought you some coffee.”
“Thanks.” The girl re-joined.
Darryl spoke to a policewoman sitting next to Maggie “I'll take it from here officer.”
“Okay detective.” She commented progressing her duties subsequent.
He sat following to the woman again.
“I’m not lying about the angel you know.” Maggie referred. “She did save me.”
“I believe you, Maggie.” Morris harkened.
She takes the cup of coffee but knocks it accidentally on him. Darryl jumps out of the chair.
“Oh god, I'm so sorry.” Maggie cried horridly.
Sneering the man posted. “That’s okay.” “I'm just going to go wipe this off.”
“No, you should stay away from me.” “People get hurt.” She sparked.
Getting up Darryl looking towards Mel behind the entrance door nodded telling her to come in as if saying this poor girl
needed help now.
Mel did that as a police officer staggering past Maggie accidentally tripped over her. He knocked the water-cooler down
which spilt onto all the cords and plugs.
The officer spoke out angrily. “Thanks a lot.” After getting up then moving off.
Maggie looked heartfelt as Mel; eyes closed concentrated on what she’d done recently trying to create her own spells
whispering. “FROM THIS MOMENT ON YOUR PAIN IS ERASED, YOUR BAD LUCK AS WELL, ENJOY YOUR GOOD LUCK
MAGGIE YOUR FREE FROM THIS HELL.”
“I hope, this works.” She thought out aloud eyes opening as Maggie’s forehead glowed affecting her.
The Darklighter saw this also. Darryl came back in and slipped on the water. Maggie stopped him falling.
“Thanks.” He observed surprisedly.
“Did I just help you then? The girl stuttered amazed.
Spying Mel quickly Darryl commented. “Certainly, you did.” “Have a seat.”
Maggie did as the cop continued adding, “You okay?
“I’m fine sure.” She answered suddenly with a newfound sense of hope.
Darryl looked over at Mel wondering what she’d done as the woman leered striding out the main door afterwards.
The Darklighter followed replying quietly, “Not so fast.” As magic dust flowed out of his hands hitting Mel behind making
her stop sensing something almost.
He black orbed out as she turned around thinking why the temperature in the room had dropped suddenly for a second.
Veering back, she perambulated to the car park situated underneath and got inside her car once she was there.
Police Station Car Park
Driving off one of Mel’s tyre’s burst making her slam on the brakes steering sideward avoiding a man she saw ploughing
into a pole causing her left hand to get wedged between her seat and driver door as her airbag deployed also.
The guy ran over getting his cell phone out calling 991 as he went to check on the woman.
The Darklighter conferred in the distance nearby. “Your turn to be cursed, witch.” Before black orbing thereafter.
Bay General Hospital
Piper and Paige paced down the corridor looking for Mel who’d been brought in a while ago by paramedics.
They saw her in a side cubicle and went over.
“Are you okay?” Piper asked worriedly. “We’re her cousins.” She lied to the nurse who nodded back acknowledging.
Mel responded smiling slightly as a nurse finished stitching her right forehead. “As well as can be expected.” “At least I
didn’t hit the guy in front of me.”
“What happened?” Paige quizzed.
“Well, after I was driving off from seeing Maggie in the Police Station one of my tyres burst which caused me to swerve
hitting one of the poles in the car park.” The other noted.
“Your tyre burst?” Her mother wondered curiously thinking how that might’ve happened exactly.
“Yeah my back one,” Mel mentioned.
“We did a CT scan soon as she came in.” The nurse spoke, “Because of her head injury which didn’t show a concussion
thankfully but her left arm had been wedged very tightly against her seat and driver door also which twisted,
unfortunately, causing her radius and humerus bones to break that had to be reset and now bandaged which the doctor
did earlier of course.”
Piper and Paige looked on worriedly before Mel pronounced. “It’s not as bad as it sounds.” “I just need some pain killers
to help whilst my arm heals which take around 3-4 weeks and come back in if I experience any headache, vomiting, or
blurry vision then meaning I can go home when the hospitals discharged me.”
“Which should happen after I’ve got the paperwork for you hopefully.” Her carer submitted getting up then.
“Thanks,” Paige commented as the Nurse strolled off to do that next.
Front Door Halliwell Manor
The door handle fell off as Piper, Mel and Paige toddled inside to the hall next.
“Ah great,” Mel countered picking that up with her right hand.
“That’s okay,” Piper said taking it from her. “Your father can fix it back on when he gets home.”
They go into the lounge where Paige trips over Mel’s foot falling to the floor.
Lounge
“Are you okay?” She enquired. “I’m sorry about that.” “I should’ve looked where I was going.”
Picking herself up the other responded. “No, you’re alright it was just an accident.”
Stepping back Mel expressed. “I think I’d better stay away from you guys for the time being before anything else
happens potentially.”
“Sweetie.” Piper protested.
Holding out her hand Piper’s daughter listed. “Mum please I don’t want you or Cole either getting hurt so I’m going to
head to bed.”
Her mom gave Mel a look saying she shouldn’t be alone after what’s happened which the older woman remitted. “I’ll be
careful and watch out where I’m going, I promise.”
She left as the others talked about recent events.
“Wow, I know you mentioned things were bad but I didn’t think it was that bad.” Cole speculated.
“Neither did I.” Piper sighed softly.
“Do you think Mel could be clumsy at the minute?” Paige examined.
“No.” Her half-sister stumped. “She’s not that type of person Paige trust me.” “I knew someone who worked at the
restaurant I managed before I bought P3 and he was clumsy.” “Something supernatural happened after Mel saw Maggie
I bet.”
“You think?” The shorter-haired person spoke.
“Certainly,” Piper answered. “Considering Maggie had bad luck which Mel sorted and now she has it too makes me
suspect.”
“Okay, what do you think might’ve happened then?” Paige remarked.
“Well, that’s what we need to find out Paige.” Leo’s wife stated. “Do you have any ideas Cole maybe?”
“Off the top of my head a Leprechaun perhaps.” The half-demon suggested making Paige laugh then.
“Leprechaun please you do know their myths?” She snorted.
“No Paige there not.” Cole insisted. “They exist normally taking on the form of tiny old men granting bad luck then.”
Their considered mischievous and have a pot of gold hidden at the end of a rainbow.” “If someone catches a
Leprechaun, they have to grant three wishes provided the users lets them go eventually.”
“Like Genies you mean?” Piper established.
“But different naturally.” He nodded.
“I don’t believe it.” The half white-lighter shook her head astoundingly hearing they existed.
“I’d have to go to the Underworld and find out whether that was what happened even with Bounty Hunters on my tail
still which’s dangerous of course but.” Cole declared.
“We understand Cole.” Mel’s mom raised. “Thank you.”
“I’ll try and be as quick as I can,” He said shimmering out consequent.
“Maybe we could look in the Book of Shadows as well if Leo doesn’t answer encase what’s happened isn’t to do with a
Lephacrahun,” Paige muttered.
“Right.” Piper nodded before adding. “Come on.”
They hiked upstairs doing that afterwards.
Attic
Half an hour later Piper and Paige talked as the second closed the Book of Shadows.
“What’ll we do Piper there’s nothing in here?” The younger sister stirred.
“I don’t know Paige.” Piper countered fingering her hair.
Cole shimmered in a little worse for wear. “Hey,” He said slumped slightly.
“You alright?” Paige posed a bit concerned.
“Sure yeah.” The ex-lawyer told catching his breath. “Just a little worse for wear.”
“Did you find out anything?” Piper debriefed.
“Not really,” Cole shook his head saying. “Except that it’s not a Reparation which caused Mel or Maggie’s bad luck then.”
“You?”
Shaking her head Paige submitted. “Nothing.” “We called Leo but he wasn’t answering then checked the Book of
Shadows and couldn’t find anything which has me wondering whether the spell Mel cast backfired possibly.”
“It wouldn’t have Paige.” Her older sister preached. “Because Mel intentionally helped Maggie not making that happen
obviously.”
“Unless someone else did it,” Cole noted thinking something.
“Like who?” Paige brought up.
“A Darklighter maybe.” The guy presented confusing the woman slightly.
“Why would one go after Maggie then Mel when they attack Whitelighters normally from what she and Piper told me
about them?” She proposed.
“Because Maggie herself could be a future Whitelighter potentially.” Piper sited once an idea popped in her brain.
“Really?” Paige thought.
“She fits the profile,” Cole acted.
“And it’s not the first time one of those went after one of them.” The middle Charmed One supplemented. “When my
sisters and I first became witches, we meet a girl named Daisy who was future Whitelighter then.” “She left her
boyfriend Alec after finding out he was a Darklighter who always fought her till Leo stepped in cloaking her.” Alec
poisoned him before he came to us for help where I switched powers with Leo healing him who then helped me sense
Daisy before Prue vanquished him.”
“There may be something in the Book of Shadows on these particular Darklighters called ‘Spirit Killers’ if I remember
correctly.” The man exclaimed.
Flipping through the pages Paige came across something. “Cole’s right.” “Spirit Killers Darklighters who force good souls
to commit suicide through telepathic suggestion.” “Classified dangerous.”
“Which is how one first going after Maggie by making her jump,” Piper suggested.
“That’s their usual MO.” Cole displayed. “Although they’ve been known to do others.” “They prey on victims giving them
bad luck making it their fault till there worn down and kill themselves.”
“Stopping them go to heaven and meet the Elders who offer them the chance to become a Whitelighter.” His opponent
communicated which Cole agreed.
“Bingo.” He nodded before Paige announced. “Jesus.” Placing her hand across her mouth.
“No wonder he wants Mel.” She buttered next. “To break her spell and reinstate Maggie’s bad luck.” “We can’t let that
happen.”
“We won’t,” Piper voiced defiantly. “Is there a way to kill them?”
Flipping again Paige laid out. “There's a spell to banish a ‘Spirit Killer’ but not kill them.”
"Err." Her half-sister sighed fingering her hair again.
"Even so Mel would have to vanquish the Darklighter because she's the one he's after of course," Cole responded.
"But we don't even though what it looks like." The newest Charmed One rooted.
"Maggie might tomorrow morning if we asked her." Piper digested before that came around with Maggie helping a woman down the corridor of a mental home, she volunteered in.
Mental Home
"It's okay Miss Idleman." She revealed. "Let's get you into the sunlight and see what's going on in the world." "That's it,
you're doing great."
Mel and Paige are talking to a doctor behind the communal doors who’s really the Darklighter of course.
"Maggie's made a remarkable recovery," He told. "Severely depressed yesterday now she's smiling, laughing, and
helping others." "Nevertheless, that's only temporary I'm afraid."
"How so?" Mel enquired.
"Because oonce you've been on that ledge, Miss Hale you never forget it." The Darklighter narrated. "That deep dark
place it never goes away." "It haunts you, beckons you back.
His words affected Mel slightly.
"That's not true." Paige shook her head.
"Oh, really?” The man declared. “Are you a psychiatrist?"
"No." The woman remitted. "But I work in Social Services and have seen lots of clients recover from depression before
with help."
"Not people in Maggie's situation." The Darklighter spat. "She still feels responsible for all the tragedies in her family's
life." "That pain doesn't just magically go away."
That further upsets Mel's feelings.
"May we see her?" The elder woman requested.
"Absolutely." The bald man nodded before Mel and Paige pushed the button opening the communal room doors.
She and Paige strolled down the corridor, as magic dust pooped out of the Darklighter's hand hitting Melissa again.
He disappeared as Mel and Paige reach Maggie.
Seeing them she got up and touched Mel’s hands. “It’s you, my angel.”
Noticing her cast and stitched up forehead she said, “Oh no what happened?” “I hope.”
“It wasn’t you don’t worry,” The other said. “I had a little accident.”
Maggie exhaled “Thank god.” “I hoped you'd come so I could commend you and ask some questions.” I’ve so many.”
“Maggie, I think you have the wrong idea about me.” Mel narrated.
Shaking her head, the blonde woman displayed. “No, I haven’t.” “You saved my life.”
“Look there was a lot going on yesterday. I mean, it was really confusing, there were so many people.” Maggie’s saviour
spoke.
“That doesn't change what you did.” The other marked. “Who are you exactly?”
“My name’s Melissa and this’s Paige.”
“Hi, Maggie.” Paige acknowledged.
She answered smirking back. “Wow, two angels.”
Mel’s aunt’s eyes widened hearing that.
“No, I'm not that.” The longer-haired person laughed trying to get Maggie of the scent.
“In what way did you save me and appear up on that building?” Maggie approached.
Mel thought of a quick lie quoting. “I was just lucky been there I guess.” “How are you feeling?” “Better I hope.”
“I am thanks to you.” Maggie alliterated. “I feel great.”
“Even though you're here?” Paige inquired confused a little.
“I'm alive.” The other commented. “And more importantly feel alive again.” “I'm able to give, and I'm able to help
people which I haven't been able to do for a while of course.”
“That's sweet Maggie.” The social services assistant conveyed.
“Certainly, I can't believe how everything's changed suddenly.” Maggie talked. “I mean I know I'm stuck here for a
while but I feel like myself again like a thousand-pound weight's been lifted off my chest.”
Mel beamed hearing that whilst Paige went on. “Maggie, I need to ask you an important question.”
“Sure, anything.” The girl dipped.
“Has anyone new been in your life recently you don’t know about?” Paige tested.
“Well, there’s the Doctors and people here,” Maggie responded.
“No, I mean anyone suspicious like.” Her opponent asked.
“Why do you say that?” The other declared.
Looking at one another Mel said, “Because we think the bad luck you had recently wasn’t your fault but intentionally
done to make you jump.”
“You mean the voice in my head that kept telling me I was hurting people and not helping them,” Maggie countered
shocked.
Nodding her head Mel commented. “Right.”
“Oh god.” The woman uttered. “What if it comes after me again?”
The golden-brown haired lady looked sad hearing that as her mind wandered off then.
“They won’t if you give us a description so we can tell the Police,” Paige told bravely.
Shaking her head Maggie spoke, “I don’t know what they looked like.” “Only this voice in my head telling me to jump.”
That confirmed Piper and Paige’s suspicions of a ‘Spirit Killer’ already but pissed the second one off not getting the
Darklighters identity.
“I’m sorry I couldn’t be more help.” The blonde girl stoked.
“It’s okay you previously confirmed our suspicions anyway.” Paige proclaimed before taking her hands adding. “We’ll try
and get this person I promise?”
She and Mel strolled back through the doors with the second admitting, “At least Maggie’s safe.”
“For now, perhaps but we still don’t know what the Darklighter looks like,” Paige reported. “Or when they’ll attack you
again.”
“Well until there uncloaked, we won’t do will we.” Her niece returned.
“Maybe something else in the Book of Shadows we look up or some other piece of information Cole has could help us
conceivably.” The younger one re-joined thinking to do that.
“Possibly although you’ll need to do that before I join you then as I must stop by P3 and get things prepped for this
evening,” Mel stated.
“Should you do that by yourself exactly?” Paige queried.
“Mom will be there who can drive us back.” Her partner squashed.
“Okay, I’ll drop you there.” The other person countered.
“Thanks,” Mel exclaimed before they left.
Clubroom
Piper came over as Mel finalised the evening's events.
“I know we’re heading back once you’ve finished things but I just need to go and get one thing quickly.”
“Oakey dokey,” Her daughter said.
“I can’t leave you by yourself, sweetie.” Piper declared.
“There’s staff in the stockroom so I won’t be alone.” Mel ramped.
“And if the Darklighter attacks?” The younger woman announced.
“Mom I’ve been a witch 15 years and dealt with many supernatural beings.” She countered. “And considering what
happened last year with Vicereas I’m cautious already.”
Touching Piper’s arm Mel added. “I’ll be fine.”
“If you’re sure then,” Piper commented.
“Affirmative.” The taller woman ordered. “Now please go.”
“I’ll be back quick as I can,” Her mom re-laid before leaving.
The Darklighter appeared unnoticed behind black dusting the phone which rang Mel speaking to the manager of the
band.
“Is this some kinder joke Miss Hale,” He submitted. “Sending us a minibus that’s unroadworthy.”
“Excuse me?” Melissa expressed confusedly.
“There’s a leak somewhere and the brakes feel squishy.” The manager stated angrily. “We can’t drive this thing.”
“No, you’re wrong.” She spoke out conservatively. “It is roadworthy.” “The company service and maintain their vehicles
regularly.”
“Not this one it seems,” The guy summoned. “Either you get us new transportation or we can’t perform then.”
Panicking Mel pushed. “I apologise and will sort that straight away.”
Hanging up she fingered her hair breathing heavily wondering she’ll do obviously.
The Darklighter advanced saying, “No you won’t” “You’re a fraud who can’t do her job properly because you don’t have
a backup act and won’t find new transportation this late mmeaning P3 loses money and your mom gets angry who’ll
fire you probably.”
“She won’t do that because I'll fix everything." Mel ascertained which the Darklighter bit back. “No, you won't."
Prompting the woman to go outside getting fresh air.
San Francisco City
The Darklighter told more unkind things as Mel strode down the street.
"It's all my fault what happened yesterday." "The car accident, the doorknob breaking, and aunt Paige tripping."
Mel stopped as the guy inserted. "I'm a terrible person."
A tear rang down her eye as she tried ringing someone but her cellphone wouldn't work.
Her assailant told her to resume moving which Mel did afterwards.
Clubroom
Coming back Piper noticed Mel not there.
She checked everywhere asking staff if they'd seen her who hadn't before calling Mel on her phone which didn't work.
Next, she tried Leo but he never reacted also.
Piper phoned Paige located in the attic with Cole then.
Attic
"Hey, Piper." Her half-sister queried.
"Paige is Mel with you there?" She searched.
"Nope just Cole and me." Paige quipped. "Why?"
"Dammit," Piper said touching her hair. "I left P3 to get something quickly then came back finding her not here."
"Could Mel have gone out for fresh air?" The newest Charmed One suggested.
"Possibly though if the Darklighter's with her." Piper worried. "I tried her cell but she never picked up then called Leo
but he's not answering."
Paige ran into Mel's bedroom grabbing something before coming back using that with a map and crystal trying to scry
for her niece which didn't work.
"Why's it not functioning?" She pondered nervously.
"Because the Darklighter's magic is blocking it's an attempt to as he knows Mel's a witch," Cole mentioned. "And Leo's
probably not responding as he's helping some of his charges."
"If Mel's in danger Cole he would sense that or the Elders should do at least," Piper uttered on Paige's cell which was
now on the loudspeaker.
"But Spirit Killers are elusive." The half-demon explained. "They're hard to find and people don't know about them
because they work in secret is why many of them are rarely vanquished.
"Could you shimmer to Melissa?" Paige stammered.
Cole shook his head remitting, "Not if he's poisoned her more than he did Maggie and quicker so she'll die now
relinquishing the others good luck as I mentioned yesterday evening."
"Then how do we find Mel before she kills herself?" Piper considered.
"Maybe Maggie could sense where she is having good luck and being a future Whitelighter also." The man pitched.
"That could work," Mel's mom said hopefully. "Alright, you two grab the map and meet me at the psychiatric home.
She hung up before Paige and Cole did that next.
Fisherman's Wharf
Mel wandered here as a slow version of 'The Sound of Silence' played out.
Verse
Hello, darkness, my old friend. I've come to talk with you again.
Because a vision softly creeping. Left its seeds while I was sleeping.
And the vision that was planted in my brain. Still remains. Within the sound of silence
"That's it, keep walking to our familiar place." The Darklighter noted unseen by others around him. "We don't want to
make things worse, do we?"
'Okay, Mel, get a grip." She thought out aloud. "You're a good person who does good things."
"Then why's so much happened already?" The bald man mocked. "Why do I hurt the people I love?" "I've been in this
dark place before remember last year?"
The woman passed some shops as the Darklighter sustained. "No one can help me." "I'm all alone." "So, I must keep
walking, yes, keep walking."
Mel crossed the road not seeing cars come at her been zoned out.
They swerve to avoid hitting her and one another causing a pile-up to happen to alarm the woman who put her hand on
her mouth.
“Oh no,” She denounced not believing what occurred.
“Look what happened.” The Darklighter spoke. “Look what I did.” “That’s on me.” “I must leave before the Police get
here.” “Run!”
Mel did that as Piper, Cole, and Paige arrived at the psychiatric home.
Mental Home
Maggie was playing Gin with a woman when the others veered over
“Hi Maggie, do you remember me?” Paige brought up there.
“Of course, Paige.” The woman grinned going over to her.
“Right yes.” The half Whitelighter-Witch broached. “This’s Piper and Cole.”
Maggie accredited them whilst Paige enhanced. “We need your help finding Mel Maggie.”
“Why is that?” Maggie cross-examined.
“Because she's in trouble actually.” Cole stitched. “The same kind you had recently.”
“Oh dear,” The girl abated putting her hand over her mouth. “How can I help?” The girl bade.
The gang took her outside the room where Piper held up the map Paige had before in the Attic.
“By giving us some of your luck.” Piper docked. “We need you to close your eyes and concentrate anywhere on this map
then point to it.”
“I don't understand.” Maggie catechized. “How will that help?”
“It will trust me,” The other said.
“Okay,” Maggie responded closing her eyes concentrating on the map.
Feeling a pull, she pointed out her hand which landed by The Golden Gate Bridge.
“That’s 20 minutes away,” Paige confirmed.
“Thank you,” Piper commented as they hiked away.
“We should drive and park up near there as so not to alert the Darklighter of our presence.” Cole
“Right.” The girls both agreed as they walked off to Piper Jeep.
Golden Gate Bridge
On there alone Mel moved towards a ledge whilst ‘The Sound of Silence’ resumed playing.
Versus
In restless dreams, I walked alone. Narrow streets of cobblestones.
Neath the halo of a street lamp. I turned my collar to the cold and damp.
When my eyes were stabbed by the flesh of a neon light. That split the night.
And touched the sound of silence.
The cars passing by the thought she was viewing the bay ahead.
Cloaked behind the Darklighter articulated coercively. “It's okay, Mel you don't have to be afraid.” “I know what needs
doing.” “It's the best thing for everyone and something I should've done a long time ago.” “Jump.”
She sauntered forward more near the edge.
Piper’s Jeep
“Why would the Darklighter make Mel go to the Bridge?” Paige grilled as she, Cole and Piper cruised along the road.
“Because it’s a place she’s familiar with compelling her more to jump obviously.” Cole affirmed,
“But Mel’s strong though from what I’ve seen.” Paige retorted.
“True.” Piper pointed. “Although this isn’t the first time, she’s been knocked down already.” “Last year a demon Mel
didn’t know about cursed her with empathy after she’d helped him making her feel half the world’s emotions which got
so bad, she almost topped herself off a mountain till Cole stopped her then.”
Her half sister appeared stunned learning that. “Oh god.”
“Indeed.” The driver told. “Now the Darklighters taking Mel back there again however bit differently by amplifying her
bad luck clearly.”
“We need to get to her then.” The passenger sized as the Jeep sped on.
Golden Gate Bridge
The Spirit Killer rewed his efforts on Melissa. “That’s it, keep moving.” “It’s the only way to save my family.”
“Why am I doing this?” Mel alleged hesitantly. “It’s not me.” “I’m stronger than that.”
“So, I don’t curse them like I have me.” The guy aforementioned.
“Curse.” She repeated crying.
“I don’t want to feel like this. He continued.” I’ve got to end it.”
“End it.” The woman uttered upsettingly.
“Jump.” The Darklighter muttered there.
Street Near the Bridge.
Piper, Paige, and Cole pulled up getting out locking the doors behind sprinting up towards the entrance ahead of them.
Golden Gate Bridge
Coming on they ran forward searching for Mel whilst navigating the long pathway across.
The Darklighter resumed speaking getting frustrated things weren’t transpiring quickly. “What am I waiting for?”
The gang see Mel distantly.
Paige said the spell she’d got from The Book of Shadows words changed slightly making the Darklighter visible to them,
“DARKLIGHTER STANDING IN OUR SIGHTS MAKE HIM VISIBLE TO THIS WITCH’S EYES.”
Piper tried freeze/blowing him up but Cole reminded only Mel could defeat him overcoming what’s happened to her.
“Mel get away from there.” She shouted. “This isn't you.”
“The Darklighter’s making you do it.” Paige attached.
“He’s poisoned you like he did Maggie.” Cole concluded.
Seeing them the other responded. “No, I didn’t.” I'm, all alone.”
“Alone.” Mel noted seeing herself only and no-one else.
“He tried to kill her.” Her mother stated “Now he's doing it to you.”
“There’s no Darklighter just me.” The Darklighter regarded.
“Only me.” Mel replicated.
“I must do this.” He persisted.
“Do this.” The girl cried climbing onto the ledge.
“No, you don’t have to.” Paige yelled. “Your stronger than him.” “Please listen to us.”
“Mel you’re a good witch.” Cole remarked. “Whose helped a lot people and still could do.” “Don’t let him take that away
then.”
“What about Prue and Phoebe?” Piper added. “If you die, we won’t avenge their deaths.”
“And the Darklighter will destroy Maggie also.” The ex-lawyer put sincerely.
“Don’t listen to them,” The bald guy murmured worryingly. “I must die before I hurt anyone else.” “I don’t want this
anymore.”
“I DON’T WANT THIS ANYMORE!” Mel shouted almost falling headlong.
“No!” Paige pleaded. “We’re not lying Mel.” “The Darklighter’s there.” “Please turn around.”
She breathed heavily as something registered in the other making them do that seeing the Darklighter finally
afterwards.
“It's true,” Melissa said.
Her attacker glanced surprisedly wondering what way Mel had broken his spell when other victims hadn’t, “How did
you.”
“You monster hurting people this way,” The girl marched over saying kicking him in the balls before punching the Darklighter to the ground.
“It's a gift.” The man coughed holding his cut lip. “You'll jump for me sooner or later.” “You always do.” “I haven't lost
anyone yet.”
“Maggie and I are two you did today.” Mel answered angrily.
“Perhaps.” The Spirit Killer dropped. “But I’m still here.” “And no-one can't stop me.”
“Watch me.” His former victim spoke defiantly reciting an incantation she’d made up. “ALL THE VICTIMS THIS
DARKLIGHTER KILLED THEIR BAD LUCK NOW I GIVE TENFOLD. MAKE HIM SUFFER AND MAKE HIM PAY THROUGH THE
CRUELEST DARK EVIL WAYS.”
The spell made him jump off the bridge landing dead in the water as Mel gazed on whilst Piper and Paige hugged her
before he sank to the bottom.
Clubroom
“How did you know the invocation you used on the Darklighter would work?” Paige queried later while the band who
couldn’t play originally performed now after the bad luck had reversed making the minibus suddenly work.
“I didn’t initially.” The older person divulged as she, Cole, and Paige sat in the corner booth near the stairs. “But figured the way he’d cursed people might do which I dished out proving good ultimately.”
“And the fact Mel overcame The Spirit Killer’s hold also aided the spell too,” Cole remarked.
“Of course. I don’t want that happening again.” She agreed.
Her aunt mentioned subsequent. “Well Maggie’s okay.“ “Her conditions improved and her family got in touch again
which’s great.”
“I know fantastic.” Mel grinned. “It worked out in the end.”
“That it did.” Paige smirked as Cole peered on knowing he’d have to tell Mel his feelings some point whilst Piper and Leo
conversed at the bar.
“I’m sorry I wasn’t there honey.” Leo apologised. “I would’ve come if I’d known.”
“It’s not your fault Leo.” Piper muttered. “Spirit Killers are elusive people.” “You have other charges also so we can’t rely
on you all the time.” “Besides things worked out well with Cole’s help.”
“Thankfully.” Her husband stated.
“And Mel’s okay and will continue being so.” His wife verbalized whilst they continued talking before the scene faded out
and ended afterwards.
The End

The End
