Wow! Team Charmed Cafe's Saturday group was in the midst of re-reading tonight's "Classic Charmed, Done Our Way" episode when I was shocked to realize that today is the 13th, the day that I usually update Elemental Charmed and/or the response to it.

Unfortunately Carina's computer is still broken, so she can only use her phone to let us know she likes our episodes and we haven't heard from Deidre in so long that I wonder if we ever will.

But PVille (short for Phoebeville - her favorite Charmed scene) has started reading and posting reviews for EC's last season.

As always, feel free to respond to her replies no matter if you wrote the episode or not and I'll copy them to the site where I've met her.

It's official: CBS-TV's Elemental Charmed will end with its upcoming fifth season.

PVILLE: It's all too real when you read this. But, love this little alternate universe, where I'm sure I'd be left sad its ending, but glad it is ending on a high, where I'm wanting more, than a show that went on too long, and so happy that it is ending.

Executive Producer Connie Burge made the announcement Saturday during the show's annual trek to San Diego Comic-Con, though the decision to wrap the series she created comes as little surprise.

Talk of ending the series has been a much-talked-about question among the writer's room for some time. Burge told the press, "We mapped out a four or five-year plan for the series after we got picked up for a second season and moved to CBS. But the only question on our minds was exactly how much story we had in us. We didn't want to keep on going when we dried up all the plots we could make."

PVILLE: So proud of her here, for wanting to end it now, before it goes downhill. Something I wished Classic Charmed did.

Stars TBC1 and TBC2 had signaled that the end of the drama was in sight. Both actors had previously indicated their plans to do one last season of the series, and indicated the idea of a possible half-season order for the fifth season is what got a couple of the stars of the show to sign beyond the original four-year-contract they all signed for when the series was first picked up back in 2018.

PVILLE: So glad, this was very appealing for them, I'm sure.

"We all have discussed it and we've made the decision that this is it," Burge told fans Saturday. "This is going to be the final season of Elemental Charmed. It's bittersweet and emotional and we're all going to be crying in a minute. It's been a beautiful run.... Get ready, because it's going to be a very crazy and wild ride for these final episodes."

PVILLE: And, I certainly can't wait for the final episodes too. I might need to have some tissues, as I'm sure I'll be very sad it's over when I get to the final episode.

The final season will be a shortened one, consisting of 12 episodes, bringing the series to a total of 100 episodes. The show returns Sunday, September 11th at 8 p.m. Production is expected to begin on Monday, August 8th, 2022. It's a little later than usual. Due to the shortened order, they will be able to be more flexible, and the other two stars, TBC4 and TBC5, are still busy shooting movies.

PVILLE: I love them ending nicely on 100 episodes, it's so perfect.

And in real time, this is only two and a half years away.

”Elemental Charmed has meant so much to so many fans around the world and has meant so much to all of us at CBS,” Charles Smith, network president of CBS-TV, said in a release shortly after the news broke at Comic-Con. “I’m a huge fan of the show myself, and I’ve seen every episode. The relationship and bond between these five stars have been such a blessing. So I am very happy that we can give Connie and her writers the chance to finish their story the way they have envisioned, and to give viewers a fantastic conclusion to five spectacular seasons.”

Saturday's Comic-Con panel ended with a sweet video tribute and Burge's final message to fans: "Thank you for joining us on the ride with these five amazing women. I cannot wait to see what you think of how we've chosen to close the doors on our Elemental Witches for this final stretch of 12 episodes."

Shannen Doherty and Alyssa Milano set to return for "Elemental Charmed's" final season

PVILLE: YAY! Shannen and Alyssa are back to guest star, no doubt, they'd want them back.

Following the news last weekend at Comic-Con that "Elemental Charmed" was coming to an end with one more season, it has now been officially confirmed that fans can expect to see Shannen Doherty and Alyssa Milano reprise their roles of Jenna and Mary Ann Warren one more time in the final season, which starts production for the final season on Monday, August 8th, 2022. Both Doherty and Milano will appear in the opening episode of Season 5 to kickstart the beginning of the final 12 episodes of "Elemental Charmed" which will premiere on September 11th, 2022.

PVILLE: I really have loved to bits Jenna and Mary Ann's episodes.

Great way to open the final season with them. I admire you guys for not putting them into the finale and taking attention off our stars, which canon did with the last episode, I really didn't like all the family members showing up.

It comes as no surprise since both actresses have previously made guest appearances on the series once every season, usually in an episode either opening or ending a season. It was only a matter of signing them both and securing them at the same time.

Executive producer Connie Burge revealed, "I wanted to announce this at Comic-Con last weekend, but with the announcement of our show ending, we wanted to make sure that we were taking a second to reflect on our show's legacy and let that sink in and let our fans prepare for goodbye before we went and revealed the returning faces for the last season."

PVILLE: It sure will sink in for me. Part of why I'm taking so long to start S5, I'm kinda wanting to hold onto EC for as long as possible. But, I'll likely get into it soon, and maybe read one episode a week.

Doherty later spoke about her return and the series’ ending in a recent press interview: "I'm excited to come back one last time to 'Elemental Charmed'. I've enjoyed being a part of this amazing series, and I'm so proud of the work Connie, the writers, and the cast have produced over the years. Alyssa and I have enjoyed getting to play the parts of Mary Ann and Jenna. So I'm looking forward to our return."

PVILLE: Good for you, Shannen. Such great casting.

Milano also made a comment referring to the series ending: "I'm sad to see this show ending since I've enjoyed popping in and out of the series for the four years, but I'm excited that Shannen and I will get a chance once again to appear in the first episode of a season, in this case, the final season.”

PVILLE: Me too, Alyssa.

Burge didn't reveal any hints about what role the two will play, but did add that she’s certain that fans will think waiting will be worth it. She also hinted at the possibility that the two actors might make cameos in the final episode to be aired on Sunday, February 16, 2023, but only quick cameos since she wants the final episode to revolve around the "Elemental Charmed" actors.

PVILLE: I love the title.

PIPER'S HOMECOMING CRUISE IS ANYTHING BUT RELAXING — With Piper cleared of all charges, and Peyton keeping her promise to get out of Dodge – at least for now - the other Warrens prepare a welcome home cruise for Piper, but in typical-Warren fashion, it doesn't go without a little trouble. The first few days are wonderful, but when her actual birthday arrives, things turn dire when the Demoness of Possession starts inhabiting innocents on the cruise.

PVILLE: YAY, Piper is free and back home. I won't be so sure, she'll be back. But after all that drama, I do like us having a standalone.

WOW! A demoness on a cruise. But, I like it.

As the Warrens search the ship for the Demoness, she gains control of the birthday girl. Finding out, Paige transports herself and Phoebe back to the Manor, so they can check their family book of shadows, but they are unprepared for an uninvited visitor – a warlock who is the Demoness of Possession’s accomplice.

PVILLE: Oh no, if Piper being in prison wasn't bad enough. And, am not surprised Paige and Phoebe find a warlock waiting for them at the manor.

Back on the cruise ship, Prudence has a premonition that reveals more to the demoness that it does to her – what happened during Prudence and Allen’s honeymoon many decades ago, something Prudence has tried hard to keep secret. But what will happen if the Demoness reveals the secret?

PVILLE: And I love that it ties back to something from Prudence's past. Very cool. Which will no doubt help them to save the day.

PVILLE: I really enjoyed this one, a fun story to have right after the Piper trial arc.

I remember "Ghost Whisperer" did a ghost on a cruise. I wouldn't be surprised if you got inspired by that show to do one set on a cruise with EC. Because, I like it.

PVILLE: Manor Bound. I wonder what this means. Has to be about the manor.

BIRTHDAY BLUES - The Warrens throw Phoebe and Paige another joint belated birthday party, but in typical-Warren fashion, it doesn't go without a little trouble. Something is keeping the five Warrens stuck inside Warren Manor. None of their Elemental powers give them a means of escape, not even Prudence’s Element of Spirit.

PVILLE: I love a birthday, especially since I remembered in S1 they had theirs close together.

Now, the title makes sense, trapped in the manor.

As long as they're stuck, the five women try to sort out their future:

PVILLE: Now this is a great one in our final season. I sure wonder if some of what they think about sticks near the end of the series.

Phoebe, who only needs a few more credits before finally graduating college, has been given the opportunity of a lifetime - the chance to intern at a major newspaper in Boston - and she'd get to work for her favorite reporter. But despite Salem's proximity to Boston, Phoebe is still wary of being away from her family, especially now that they know that Peyton is possessing Andrea.

PVILLE: I'm so glad you guys kept her in college in the whole series. Yeah, I really do get why Phoebe would be worried especially with what is going on with Peyton.

-Piper wonders about her own future with Matthew, who should return shortly from his business trip. Does she really want to distract her family from the problem of Peyton and Andrea with the idea of planning a wedding?

PVILLE: Now I so get why. I sure hope she decides to do that at the end of the series.

-Paige can't stop wondering if she will ever figure out a way to save her daughter, Peyton, and if not, will she be able to figure a way to vanquish her that won't let her return, forcing Paige to vanquish her yet again.

PVILLE: This breaks my heart. Poor Peyton. Poor, poor Paige.

-Patience is considering retiring from the police force and just taking pictures for fun for a change.

PVILLE: I like this one.

-And Prudence has a health issue that she's trying to keep secret from her family while preparing them for the inevitable.

PVILLE: OMG, Prudence.

To their surprise, when Matthew walks in the door, the five women can walk out.
