I was always annoyed by the ending. So Phoebe (Imara) can get away with coming onto a man and its see as okay, yet if a man claims said woman came onto him unconsentually and the man is framed as "wrong". One thing that bugs me about this episode is how easy Phoebe gets out of the lawsuit with her column. Elise basically gives her a free pass because the lawyer “lied” about getting sexually-assaulted. Like imagine if they switched the genders. It’s pretty screwed up how they resolved that subplot.
I really dislike how the show had to come up with such contrived ways just for Phoebe to remain "perfect" at her stupid column. (remember when work places were actually interesting and served a purpose?) Most situations would get people fired instantly. According to Phoebe and Elise, men can't be sexually harassed by women. yet when a man tries to speak up for the fact he was hit on he's the bad guy! Its also incredibly hypocritical considering Phoebe did this exact same thing to Leslie without having her body taken over and just strutted out the door. Or her relationship with Jason. Elise has just become one of Phoebe's P3000 robots at that point. Isn't Phoebe suppose to be an expert on love advice? I think sexual assault would fall under that category!
The lesson of Phoebe’s work sub-plot is: if an employee comes to you accusing another of sexual assault, you can dismiss the claim entirely and fire them on the grounds of your disbelief. That is incredibly messed up and pretty ironic considering Alyssa Milano’s involvement in the #MeToo movement. It's also pretty messed up that Phoebe doesn't even think of the fact the man might have been lead on/perswayed by Imara, she just goes along with the lie and assumes he's bad. She clearly knew Imara used her body to come onto that man and still persisted he was the "evil" one in the situation. Just like her to be callous and self centered. I also hate the facial expressions Alyssa gives Phoebe in later seasons, such as her wide eye expressions it just adds to making her condescending and uncaring nature.
