This was such a fantastic episode for Piper and I adore the scene where she talks to Phoebe while questioning their moral of being witches. I liked the subtle detail of her looking through the Book of Shadows. I wish Piper could've gotten more moments like this, it is the perfect example of how her wanting a normal life is done well, unlike later seasons. She provides understandable reasons to be so hesitant, they grew up living normal lives, being as regular people and are thrown into a world where now there's this part of them they have to get use to. She isn't just forcing her problems on everyone else or using contradicting motives. Piper was so much more relatable back then. Scenes like this are why I use to love Piper and Phoebe. Their chemistry as sisters is great here and each one does a good job at bringing out their character. It makes me miss Phoebe's once carefree personality and her goal to want to make up for her past. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hjoxw_T0ecY&fbclid=IwAR252o551yKApQGAt-Iza0eY73PWzGlD7xs5kCLumTfDOr5qQ7unXGcTKTw

I really love this scene for all the same reasons you said. She was so sweet and kind early on, and this scene is the perfect way to represent her being hesitant about being a witch and mourning the loss of her former life.
And Piper and Phoebe get along great here and work so well together. I truly can see them as sisters, which is crazy because in real life, these two hadn't even known each other for very long at all.
I love Phoebe in this scene as well. Ironically, she gives Piper great advice and helps her through her problems. She was much better at this sort of thing long before she got her job at the paper.
Both of them had room to grow and develop as characters at this point, but I wish they had kept these core traits in each of them: Piper being the most relatable sister and also the kindest, and Phoebe being very wise despite her moments of silliness and immaturity.
