Found this new podcast interview with Holly Marie Combs where she talks about Shannen Doherty, being born to a 15yr old teen mom, and having a miscarriage on the set of Charmed. Including telling Kern about being pregnant, and how unhappy he was saying she was one year too late, and her not staying in touch with Shannen. Also some stuff on her other roles like Picket Fences and Pretty Little Liars, and her other marriages.
Also some good insights into her life and being a mother.
Interesting interview.

Say what you will about Piper, but I think Holly is the best actress on Charmed and she does have an appeal to her. I also admire how frequent she is in interviews and conventions, showcasing her activity with fans and people. Its also interesting to hear a lot of behind the scenes drama involved people arguing over relationships.

I watched and honestly I was pretty bored unless Holly was talking. But was it just me or did she not really sound like herself? Now I never watched PLL so I haven't seen her since Charmed. Is it just that she's older?

Is it just that she's older? She still sounds like Holly to me. Butthen I've seen her on PLL a little just for Holly and caught some convention panels over the years watching them here and there. Perhaps Es you still remember so well on her Charmed days and she just feels older and it's a shock to see how much older she is now. Maybe. |

I noticed in the interview She openly addressed that she does not keep in touch with Shannen but still admires and respect her and still won't forget the memories it seems. That's one of the few parts that I like - she said sometimes when you're very good friends for a very long time you get "too close". That has happened to me, so I can understand that. |

Listening to some of this and...
Her being confused by the network saying that she didnt have the same star power as Shannen...it's true. Holly was in plenty of shows but wasnt nearly as high profile as Shannen was in the 90s.
Her not being close to Shannen anymore is still one of the saddest things to me, I can see them growing apart at times but especially after her cancer it should've made them grow closer again. Of course I dont know what happened in their life but still sad that they arent attempting to mend that 20 year friendship.

Around the time of Rose and Alyssa's twitter fight, Shannen and Holly made posts at the same time, and Holly liked Shannen's tweets. Me too, Shannen almost hangs out with Sarah Michelle Gellar on a daily basis now from IG, and seems like she is Shannen's new Holly (that she hangs out in person). I never knew they were that close before. But, I've heard rumours that Sarah is a Republican as well. It seems the 2016 Election may have really done some damage. Hopefully when the election is over, they might start hanging out again in person. Isn't Shannen turning 50 next year, I wonder if they'll hang out then or Shannen will invite her for her 50th. Sad to see, but none of the cast seem like BFF's as in the main four stars, apart from Shannen and Holly who truly were the only ones, none of the others ever really hanged out at all unless it is a convention. Even Holly and Alyssa seem more like associates then actual friends, who only talk here and there. |
