When it comes to Charmed Phoebe was by far the best character on he show in Seasons 1-2 and the first 4 episodes of Season 3. Before she turned into the worst character on the show. And when it comes down to why she's my favorite or what got me more invested in character analysis there's quite a few scenes that made me wish Phoebe was this all throughout the show. Look at her first onscreen appearance in Season 2 premiere Witch Trial, after being followed by a shot of a dark sky and full moon the first thing we are greeted too is Phoebe calling Prue and Piper "sister witches" and being excited for their first anniversary of becoming witches. (Which come to think of it, why didn't this continue being more of a thing)
What got me to love Phoebe though was her line "Well I'm always gonna want to be a witch, that's for sure" knowing what happens not long after and later seasons really hurts to look at it, but for Phoebe as Phoebe it works so well and felt like her love of magic all put into one line. It was my favorite Phoebe moment in the show!

It was my favorite Phoebe moment in the show! Thank you so much for this, Codebox! My birthday's tomorrow and this felt like an early birthday present as you put it so perfectly why Phoebs is my favorite sister. (FYI, Patty is my favorite character, just because I always feel more like her looking down at the sisters, since I'm so much older than them - I'll be 67 tomorrow, so I was 45 when the show started - although like Phoebs, I don't like Patty that much during "The Perils of Poor, Poor Pitiful Piper" aka "PhoeME and Her Fantasy Men" aka "Two Witches Plus One Living Whitelighter Equals the Power of Three?") I'd so love to see more analysis from you about things you LOVE about "Charmed" and not what you hated. Thanks again!

Codebox, I like the scene you've chosen as well. I think my own favorite would be in the second episode where Phoebe tells Piper that magic is a gift and that Piper is a good person. She was so flaky (although still likable) in this season, yet she came out with that wonderful speech.
I too really liked her enthusiasm around being a witch. A lot of the time on the show it was portrayed as a difficult thing, as something that got in the way of their lives. And I can definitely understand: I'd never be able to handle it. But it's enjoyable to watch Phoebe dive into magical situations as though it's not a burden at all, and like it's fun.

In our board re-watch, I love Phoebe in S1 and S2, with her love of magic, being a witch and also being the voice of reason and offering support to her sisters, even if she wasn't in a relationship at the time. Especially when she reads the book and does her own research using her Laptop. That speech she gave to Piper in the second episode is my favorite too. One of my all time favorite subplots is Phoebe in 'Dead Man Dating' when she tries to save an innocent being hit by a car, such a fun plot. I especially love her conversation with Prue, who is so proud of her, and that is the perfect birthday present to her. It is the first time in the series that Prue is very proud of Phoebe.

I love this one too. She is such a good person here, first for her willingness to work to make up for Prue's birthday presents that she's always slacked off on, and then trying to save her innocent. It's such a great representation of Phoebe, because who else would think to get a job as a hotel psychic? I love how they write her in this episode. She's fun and unique and is perfectly balanced between her silly side and the side of her that wants to grow up and do better.

So agree with you on everything about why Phoebe was just so amazing in this one, showing all the best sides of her character. I especially love the way that Prue and Phoebe got closer in this scene during the episode. I love how proud Prue is of her. When re-watching S1, I really loved how close Prue and Phoebe got over the season. So many great moments they had. I also really loved their sub plot in 'The Wendigo' when Phoebe was working at Bucklands, and them reuniting a mother and daughter, gets to me every time.
