Instead of dying. Prue would be stuck in the painting or the astral plane for the series. So the sisters would still meet paige and go on with their lives working to free Prue. Like they do in the finale. Would it be better?

And if she's still alive, how can Paige be a Charmed One? Her trapped doesn't take away her powers.

Sadly no, that only works if Shannen wasn't fired but left on good terms, where she would be able to come back. That would annoy me more, knowing we'd never get closure/follow-up on Prue.

And if Prue is alive, she can't be replaced by Paige in the Power of Three.
