I thought I would put together this thread to celebrate the music that was featured on Charmed. I find the original soundtrack to really contributed to the show and the older music took away from the show in some respects.
Here are some of my favourite soundtrack moments throughout the show:
Song: Sand & Water - Beth Neilson Chapman Episode: Dead Man Dating Description: This song plays as the Charmed ones watch Mark's funeral and as he walks into the hereafter. Heart breaking!
Song: Just My Imagination - The Cranberries Episode: She's a Man, Baby Description: I didn't include any other P3 performances on this list - but I loved all of them dancing. They seemed to make a point of it with this performance.
Song: That's How Love Moves - Faith Hill Episode: Ex Libris Description: This song is playing while Piper is preparing for her date with Leo. Also shout out to the Goo Goo Dolls in this episode!
Song: I Miss You - Stevie Nicks Episode: Charmed Again Part One Description: This song plays as the stock footage of San Fransisco plays for the first time in season four. I feel this song was a tribute to Prue and I love it!
Song: Bell, Book & Candle - Eddi Reader Episode: Charmed Again, Part One Description: This song played at Prue's funeral. I loved her funeral and this song was another tribute to her.
Song: Courage - Sarah Polley Episode: Long Live The Queen Description: This song plays at the end of the episodes when Piper and Paige lay in Phoebe's bed with her.
Song: Kylie Minogue - Come Into My World Episode: House Call Description: Paige is getting ready for her date with Henry - it's a montage type sequence of her trying on clothes.
Song: San Fransisco - Vanessa Carlton Episode: Death Becomes Them Description: This song plays after the credits to night time shots of San Fransisco. Not sure why I love it so much!
If anyone else wants to use this format:

Song: "Falls Apart" by Sugar Ray Episode: They're Everywhere Description: The song plays after the opening credits.
Sugar Ray are my favourite band, and ironically, the lead singer, Mark McGrath, was originally cast for the role of Dex in Season 8.
Song: "The Chemicals Between Us" by Bush Episode: Awakened Description: After Piper is first released from the hospital from contracting Oroya Fever, the song plays as Piper is cleaning P3 as a consequence to the spell the sisters cast.
Song: "Take a Picture" by Filter Episode: She's a Man, Baby, a Man Description: The song plays in the background in P3 in the beginning of the episode.

Song: "Take a Picture" by Filter Episode: She's a Man, Baby, a Man Description: The song plays in the background in P3 in the beginning of the episode. I had no clue that Mark McGrath was originally cast as Dex!! That is so cool, thank you for posting this. It would have been cool to see him play this role because it would have avoided the very awkward Sex and the City themed episode - because the actor who played Dex was actually in Sex and the City... I think Dex was all in all a pretty terrible character so I don't think I would have liked him very much no matter who played him. I'd actually be more interested in seeing McGrath play Leslie from S6 instead of Nick Lachey. Not that I dislike Nick Lachey - for being a pop star I think he did a decent job with again, a pretty bad role. It would have been so great if there were more men in the show like Darryl - a great man, an even better character and the best part? None of the sisters dated him!! I think the show lacked male characters who didn't date the sisters. Also, I do like Sugar Ray - but when I think of Mark McGrath I think of how he hosted two seasons of the Pussycat Dolls Present (haha). This show was legit though and he was a great host!

I'm probably going to be a little bit "controversial", here, as I do like some (not all) of the Replaced Songs over the Original Songs, sometimes. So, you'll probably be introduced to some of that. I'll be sure to label them, as such, to keep things clear and organized. I'll probably have to do this by season because there's just too many that I like!
Favorite Season One Song Moments Song: (REPLACED Song) Unidentified Song Episode: S1E4 "Dead Man Dating" Description: Mark's Funeral Note: IK, this is EXTREMELY controversial because IK how much the original means to a lot of people. I just like the haunting sound this replaced version provides to the scene more than the original. Unfortunately, I NEVER figured out what this song is called nor who sang it, not even with my song identifier plugin.
Song: (REPLACED Song) Entice - Breathe it In Episode: S1E8 "The Truth is Out There...and it Hurts" Description: Post-Intro Song/Breakfast scene Note: IK, I'm picking ANOTHER replaced song instead of an original, but I think this song flows MUCH better with what's happening in the scene compared to the original song. Thankfully, this one has been identified!
Song: (ORIGINAL Song) Tal Bachman - She's So High Episode: S1E10 "Wicca Envy" Description: Post-Intro Song/Prue Getting Ready Note: FINALLY an ORIGINAL song that nobody listed, yet! I've seen the replaced version, and let me just save you from the horror of it. The original is better, as it flows with the scene well.
Song: (REPLACED Song) Jodie May - Oh What a Day Episode: S1E12 "The Wendigo" Description: Post-Intro/Prue & Phoebe arriving at the hospital, to see Piper. Note: And, back to replaced, IK, I'm sorry! But, this song really sets up the haunting story of this episode MUCH better than the original.
Song: (BOTH Original AND Replaced) Unidentified Song Episode: S1E18 "When Bad Warlocks Go Good" Description: Ending/Phoebe & Prue clanking glasses Note: Funny enough, this song is in BOTH versions via Original AND Replaced, however this song still has yet to be verified, unfortunately. I really like it, though.
Song: (REPLACED Song) Alicia Grant - Sweet Memories Episode: S1E22 "Deja Vu, all Over, Again" Description: Andy's Funeral Note: IK, ANOTHER controversial choice, but I really do like the song! I like the bittersweet feeling, it brings.
All I got, for now. Until S2!

SEASON ONE AND TWO
Never watched Charmed via streaming. So all mine are the original and DVD versions.
In no particular order:
Song: Just My Imagination - The Cranberries Episode: She's a Man, Baby Description: Ending sisters dancing to band.
Song: Calling All Angels - Jane Siberry Episode: Deja Vu All Over Again Description: Song played during Andy's funeral
I've Got You Under My Skin Torn - Natalie Imbruglia (Album: Left Of The Middle) Description: Post-credits intro song
The Witch is Back In The Air Tonight - Holly McNarland Description: Post-credits intro song
Déjà Vu All Over Again Animal Instinct - The Cranberries (Album: Bury The Hatchet) Description: Post-credits intro song
Reckless Abandon Pocket Size - Human Touch (Album: 100% Human) Description: Post-credits intro song
That's all I got for now.

I like the bittersweet feeling, it brings. All I got, for now. Until S2! I updated my S1 list with a moment from S1E18 "When Bad Warlocks Go Good". Now, for some S2 picks! Favorite Season Two Song MomentsSong: (P3 Performance) The Cranberries - Just My Imagination Episode: S2E5 "She's a Man, Baby, a Man!" Description: Ending/P3 Performance/The sisters dancing to the Cranberries. Note: Obviously have to put this! Song: (REPLACED Song) Leslie Hunt - American Dream Man Episode: S2E6 "That Old Black Magic" Description: Ending/Piper & Dan kissing Note: I actually discussed this with some friends of mine about how THIS version REALLY pulled this scene, together and ending it with a BANG compared to the original. Almost, as if this song is describing Piper's thoughts about Dan LOL Song: (REPLACED Song) Leslie Hunt - All the Way Episode: S2E10 "Heartbreak City" Description: Post-Intro/Lonely Phoebe Note: Not only am I listing another replaced song, but it's from Leslie Hunt, AGAIN LOL I just think this song flows with the moment better than the original. Song: (REPLACED Song) Unidentified Song Episode: S2E11 "Reckless Abandon" Description: The sisters cleaning up baby Matthew Note: This version just flows better with the scene, compared to the original. Unfortunately, it's never been identified Song: (ORIGINAL Song) Judith Owen - I Promise You Episode: S2E13 "Animal Pragmatism" Description: Piper daydreaming about kissing Leo. Note: Don't worry, I have an ORIGINAL for ya! This is the ONLY song, that works for this scene! The replaced version sucks! Song: (REPLACED Song) The Moxy - Save You Episode: S2E20 "Astral Monkey" Description: Ending/Piper crying in Leo's arms. Note: I do like BOTH versions, but I think the replaced version works just a LITTLE bit better. All I got, for now, until S3!

Disclaimer: S3 does not have a lot of music moments, as S3 utilizes P3, for this. Which is fine 'cause BOTH Original AND Replaced versions will have the SAME P3 performance. So, anything that's a P3 performance, will just be labeled "P3" 'cause it won't matter which version of the show you're watching, it'll be in both places. Favorite Season Three Song MomentsSong: (P3 Song) Barenaked Ladies - Pinch Me Episode: S3E1 "The Honeymoon's Over" Description: Ending/P3 Performance/Piper & Leo kissing Note: This Piper & Leo kissing scene will always be nostalgic, for me, regardless how I feel about them LOL Besides, I like S3 Piper LOL Song: (ORIGINAL Song) Beth Hart - Delicious Surprise Episode: S3E2 "Magic Hour" Description: Beginning/Piper being annoyed at Wedding things Note: This song is actually played TWICE, throughout the series. The first time is actually back in S2E22 "Be Careful What You Witch For", as the Post-Intro, but I think it fits better in this scene LOL The replaced version isn't too bad, but the original is definitely better. Song: (BOTH Original AND Replaced Song) Pachelbel: Canon in D Major Episode: S3E2 "Magic Hour" & S3E15 "Just Harried" but using the S3E2 "Magic Hour" clip 'cause it was first. Description: Piper & Leo attempting to elope. Note: This song is played in BOTH versions, of the series via Original AND Replaced. I love how classical it is and even played it, at my wedding Song: (P3 Song) Snake River Conspiracy - Breed Episode: S3E4 "All Halliwell's Eve" Description: Ending/P3 Performance/Angel Cole Note: I just can't get over Angel Cole. Cracks me up, everytime LOL Along with this being a cute Phoebe & Cole moment, for me, anyway. Song: (P3 Song) Marvelous 3 - Cold as Hell Episode: S3E5 "Sight Unseen" Description: Ending/P3 Performance/Phoebe & Cole's First Kiss Note: Phoebe & Cole's first kiss will always have my heart, sorry! Plus, a cute Phoebe & Prue sisterly moment, IMO. Song: (REPLACED Song) Cristina Harris - Banging Away Episode: S3E10 "We all Scream for Ice Cream" Description: Post-Intro/Prue's Dream Note: IK, I'm picking ANOTHER Replaced song, but I think it's a really beautiful song especially to set the mood up, for Prue's dream. Song: (P3 Song) ORGY - Opticon Episode: S3E18 "Sin Francisco" Description: Ending/P3 Performance Note: I think it's a an interesting song, and it's (also) the last P3 performance of the season, and I like how it's only the sisters, hanging out. All I got, for now. Until S4!

Disclaimer: I may include a "Soundtrack Moment" that doesn't really have a "moment" centered around it. These will probably be (most likely) the P3 performances. Favorite Season Four Song MomentsSong: (ORIGINAL Song) Eddi Reader - Bell, Book & Candle Episode: S4E1 "Charmed Again, Pt 1" Description: Prue's Funeral Note: Funny story, I actually don't mind the replaced version, BUT the Original song seems to be played a lot longer, than the Replaced version LOL It's the only reason why I picked the Original version, for the sheer fact, it's played, just a little bit longer 😆 Song: (ORIGINAL Song) Tonic - Breakdown Episode: S4E1 "Charmed Again, Pt 1" Description: Paige Dancing Note: I'm not exactly a fan of the Replaced version, and there's just something catchy, to the original, that fits this scene, better. Song: (Performance) Dave Navarro - Hungry Episode: S4E5 "Size Matters" Description: "The Spot" Performance Note: For a brief moment, there's a cute shot of my girls Phoebe & Paige, having a blast, and I love it! Plus, the performance is really good and catchy. And, I like Piper's line "5 minutes away from being 'five minutes ago'" 😆 Song: (REPLACED Song) Hungry Lucy - Into Pieces Episode: S4E6 "A Knight to Remember" Description: Post-Intro/Piper reminiscing in Prue's room. Note: IK, I'm back to picking Replaced music, now. I really do like this song MUCH better than the original. I like the hauntingness of it, and I feel it really captures Pipers emotions, here. Song: (REPLACED Song) Alan Moorhouse - Starlight Serenade Episode: S4E9 "Muse to My Ears" Description: Ending/Paige Painting/Piper & Leo feeding each other and kissing in the kitchen/Phoebe & Cole dancing at P3. Note: Probably one of my favorite endings, BUT I like the Replaced version better 😬 I think it just wraps up the episode much nicer than the Original. Song: (P3 Performance) Rebecca Ryan - Big Trouble Episode: S4E16 "The Fifth Halliwheel" Description: P3 Performance, after the Seer makes her pregnancy prediction. Note: This performance is rather unique, as the YouTube version doesn't really sound like what we heard, in the show. And, I really like the version played in the show. Also, I like the streamer lights used, for this performance. I believe this is the ONLY P3 performance with such decor. Song: (ORIGINAL Song) Sara Polley - Courage Episode: S4E20 "Long Live the Queen" Description: Ending/Paige & Piper comforting a distressed Phoebe Note: I will ALWAYS pick the ORIGINAL version. NO other song will do! I will die on this hill! Until S5!

Favorite Season Five Song Moments Song: (ORIGINAL Song) B*Witched - Blame it on the Weatherman Episode: S5E2 "A Witch's Tail, Pt 2" Description: S5E2 "A Witch's Tail, Pt 2" ending. Note: I only like the original version and NOT the replaced version.
Song: (P3 Performance) The Flaming Lips - Do You Realize?? Episode: S5E9 "Sam I Am" Description: P3 Performance/Piper & Phoebe dancing/Paige breaking up with Trevor. Note: I mainly like the section with Piper & Phoebe dancing, together. Super cute!
Song: (P3 Performance) Michelle Branch - Goodbye to You Episode: S5E12 "Centennial Charmed" Description: P3 Performance/Piper & Phoebe hanging out with Darryl & Sheila Note: Aside from this terrible episode, I like this music moment of showing us the Charmed Ones (in this case, Piper & Phoebe) ACTUALLY hanging out with Darryl & Sheila. Plus, this is Sheila's FIRST appearance.
Song: (ORIGINAL Song) Kylie Minogue - Come Into My World Episode: S5E13 "House Call" Description: Post-Intro/Paige getting ready. Note: Absolutely love this moment, as it reminds me of S1E10 "Wicca Envy" of Prue getting ready to Tal Bachman's "She's So High" LOL
Song: (P3 Performance) Beth Orton - Thinking About Tomorrow Episode: S5E14 "Sand Francisco Dreamin'" Description: P3 Performance/Phoebe, Paige & Piper sleeping at the club. Note: I (mainly) just like the moment of them sleeping 'cause it's super cute LOL
Song: (P3 Performance) Pat Benatar - Heartbreaker Episode: S5E17 "Lucky Charmed" Description: P3 Performance/Piper & Leo hanging out, at P3. Note: This is like the one P3 performance that I actually like as a performance. I (absolutely) LOVE Pat Benatar, and this performance is awesome! Also, it sounds like a re-record, anyway 'cause it doesn't sound like the original track.
Song: (Performance) Rose McGowan - Fever Episode: S5E20 "Sense & Sense Ability" Description: Ending/Paige singing Note: I really love this performance and always will.
Until S6!

When I do list them, it'll probably just be for the songs and not what's actually happening, in the scene.
