Prue the Elder

I was thinking today about a Charmed movie and unique ways to incorporate Prue. I know the idea of Prue being a white lighter is nothing new - I have saw this idea on this board before. But, what if Prue was more than a whitelighter?

Since demons are always trying to reorganize the underworld, why not have the good beings reorganize the "upper" world? At points in the show the Elders seemed just as evil, if not more so, than some of the demons. So imagine this...

After Prue's death, she became a whitelighter. This could explain why the sisters were never able to summon Prue - she wasn't with Grams and Patty in heaven for that long. She was pulled out by the Elders to become a whitelighter to guide the next generation of witches. This made her too busy to see them - this and the fact that it would have prevented them from moving on.

So maybe in a movie, Prue had been working all these years to reorganize the Elders. She knew first hand the cruelty that the Elders put her, her sisters, and other witches through. Through her advocating for a better system, she was named an Elder - a sortof "head" Elder, at least when it concerned direct practice with witches. I think this could be such a fabulous re-entry for Prue. She was away from her sisters, but was still working tirelessly to make their lives better.

What a fantastic idea for bringing Prue back, forbuss! I'd never thought about Prue being an Elder before. I love the idea that as a whitelighter she'd not only be helping guide future witches but also help reorganize the structure of Up There to make for a better system considering what she'd experienced during her time as a witch and what she'd seen her sisters and other witches go through because of the Elders. This seems so much like Prue. While she'd be happy about being reunited with her mother, Grams, and Andy in the afterlife, I'm not sure she'd been content staying there forever and just being a passive observer to what was going on below.

Imagine future whitelighters going to Prue when inquiring about troubles lurking -- Like she'd actually have answers or at least some knowledge after everything she'd seen as a witch and then a whitelighter. There were so many times Leo went to ask the Elders about something and he'd come back and be like, "Yeah, they don't know anything about that." (Having just looked back at the episode Sympathy For The Demon, it reminds me of when Paige comments after Leo has talked with the Elders regarding a demon manipulating Cole, "Oh, the Elders don't know anything, what a shock" lol.)

Day One - Up There

"Welcome Penny," one of the Elders said as he guided her through the crowd, “We certainly hope you will be happy here.”

“Yes, yes, me too,” Penny Halliwell said as she was guided through the crowd of drab gold and brown robed figures. She looked at the Elder’s robe who was leading her along with scowl of utter disgust. “But those robes certainly won’t do. No, not at all.” The woman snapped her fingers and instead of the robe the man had offered her for her position as an Elder, a lovely crimson one appeared. “Ah yes, much better.”

The woman slipped it on and looked around the room, “Why is it so hazy in here? It is so white, but so very hazy. Ah, a new soothing gold tone would be so much better, don’t you think. Byron wasn’t it? Be a good boy and see if we can get some better lighting Up Here.”

“Ahhhh….” Byron started.

Penny clapped her hands, “Run along! Lots to do to make this place presentable.”

The Halliwell matriarch-turned-Elder moved around the room making suggestions at will (which were actually orders she expected to be followed) to make the place more homey.

Day Two - Up There

‘Grams’ as Penny Halliwell was also called, looked around Up There.

Now it looked strikingly like the first floor of the Manor. Much, much better. Grams was sitting on the sofa sipping a cup of tea when some of the other Elders came in and gathered around her.

"Penny, you were brought here because of all the good you have done..." one of them said to the woman.

"Exactly, Levi wasn't it? Had a dog named Levi once. Good dog. Now let's get down to business, who runs this place?" Grams asked pointedly.

"What do you mean?" Levi asked.

"Who is in charge?" Grams repeated the question.

"We are Elders, no one is in charge. We mill about, discuss the important matters, and vote as a group." Levi explains.

"Oh that will never do. I'll take point. Now what are the issues?"

Day Three - Up There

Penny looked around at the Elders who believe that she is being a little bossy. Shaking her head, she only saw about ten other women in the room.

"This won't do at all." Grams sneered and snapped her fingers. All the men disappeared. "Men as Elders, no wonder the world is in total chaos."

She looked at all the women who were looking shocked.

"Where are the others?" one of the female Elders asked.

"The men?" Penny had her nose in the air and rolled her eyes. "Where they belong. Men have no business being in charge of anything."

Flash:
We see all the male Elders standing on the cliffs looking over the flaming pits of hell.

Day Four - Up There

Penny has listened to the female Elders complain about how the men are just as important Up There since the day before. Penny sneered. Looking at them was just putting a bad taste in her mouth.

"So what you are saying is that you miss these men?" Penny asked.

"Yes, quite a bit.”

"And you want to be with them again?" Penny asked with an upraised brow.

"Yes, it is our greatest hope that all the Elders be gathered together again,” the spokeswoman for the rest of the female Elders said.

Penny looked at the gathered female Elders who were all nodding in agreement and rolled her eyes.

"Well alright, if you insist. But just remember this wasn't my idea." Penny snapped her fingers and all the women disappeared.

Flash:
We see the female Elders join the males on the cliffs above hell.

Penny looked around and smiled as she settled on the sofa and lifted her teacup to her lips. "I could really get used to being an Elder."

Oh, man, I love that story!! And imagine how much different Charmed might have been if GRAMS was the Head Elder rather than just a Wiccan priestess...and Prue would gladly agree to be a whitelighter if Grams was Head Elder - I don't think she would otherwise.

Es, WOW! I love this so much more than Prue being Elder. As for me personally love Prue being the new whitelighter to her nieces and nephews. I just don't think Prue fits or would even want the job of an Elder. She'd want to do more good on the field and being a whitelighter fits her more.

I certainly love Grams as Head Elder. Especially if they never knew that until the final episode.

Funny that in this set up with Grams as Head Elder, I'm imagining Melinda Warren fitting as Wiccan High Priestess. Especially being the start of the Warren line. It would be cool if she had that role.

Thank you very much, I've always imagined that and that's my favorite thing about Prue. In "Apocalypse, not", Phoebe says there are 11 planes of existence. For me, Prue went to one of them. Perhaps a plan would have tilted towards the evil side. The angels would have allowed Paige to complete the power of three when it was not her destiny. In Charmed Again, Grams says she can't say anything, maybe because she doesn't want to lie. In the finale, there isn't even a photo of Prue, what if the sisters end up forgetting her existence since she is no longer there. I also really like the idea of ​​Prue being Chris' previous life.

This is another interesting premise! I always love exploring the idea of parallel words, where there can be alternate timelines, different versions of oneself, etc. It's sad to think the sisters would forget Prue after some time, but thinking of how little Prue was mentioned later on in the show, it would make sense! Day by day, a little more of Prue slips away from their world the longer she's on this different plane. Would Prue still remember them or would she slowly start to forget them too? I could imagine one day, had she still remembered them, she'd try to find a way back to them. I wonder how she'd go about helping them remember who she was and how her sisters would react to slowly recovering their memories of her and then Paige meeting her big sister for the first time...

I'd never thought of Chris being a reincarnation of Prue until reading it on here. They really do resemble one another, and I actually like this idea as well!

From what I can tell, that's what the rip-off did for their Season Two and I don't think it worked out very well. Neither do I think this would.
