That's a good explanation, but I still don't like it, and IK I'm in the minority on that. I'm gonna double down that S2 Prue is NOTHING like S1 Prue, at all, and how Connie established her, to begin with. She can still "find herself" without being a completely different character which is why I like how S3 handled her growth. It remembered her bossiness, unlike her S2 counterpart. I think S2 Prue is just trying to find herself, she had Mortality Bites happen, explores her love without Andy, learns about her mother’s death and Sam, just so much going on for her here, I think naturally she’d seem off and is just figuring things out. I’m actually rewatching S2 at the moment and I personally don’t see how she is drastically different? I think she is probably less rigid and focused more on magic but doesn’t seem to be overly that different but maybe I’m just not seeing it? I don’t know? She went through so much in S1, coming to terms with never being able to say "I Love You", showing she does have a motherly side and open to being a mother one day and healing her relationship with Phoebe. She finally opened herself up and was less bossy and showed a more softer side that she maybe didn't even realize she had that progressed into S2. Prue's been on a path of searching and finding herself.
Like you pointed out, Morality Bites might have really affected Prue, and I even wonder if she didn't see her future self running Bucklands, if she would have still quit. It seemed to really change her, and why she was soul searching, maybe out of fear of turning into the person she became in 2009's future. I do think her being a photographer did come out of nowhere, since they didn't establish she had any interest in it until she decided to become one. That could've been touched on earlier on.
Like you, I'm just not seeing how she was overly that different compared to S1.

I agree! She also went through a lot in S1! But yes, like you said, once she was open to saying I Love You and considering being a mother in a near and possible future. It did open her up to be more vulnerable and softened her, which I think was great for her character development! But yes, I think seeing her possible future and how she ended up, I think it deeply impacted her in a negative way and she didn’t want to go down that path. Of course, the photographer thing did kinda come out of no where but I think her quitting, continuing to find herself and passion in her life was very in character and supported her later character development. I think it was great! I also don’t think she is drastically different in my opinion from S1 to S2? In S2, you can see how she is still a little bossy and at times rigid but not like S1.

I make this joke that's she's just kinda there, floating around, not really doing much. I like the uptight and bossy Prue who isn't into magic and wanted to keep it more on the down low than just all accepting of it. It didn't make any sense, to me. For me, I'm not the biggest Prue fan, either, but I like her more than Piper. 'Cause I don't find Prue to be all that interesting of a character. Even if I'm to forget her S1 & S3 persona and just focus on her S2 persona, she's a very passive character with not much going on with her. Her reactions to situations around is completely dull and uninteresting. The only time she's interesting, at all, is when she's around Jack, and she has this fun playful side to her that doesn't last long, soon as she quits Bucklands. There was NEVER any sign nor indication of the Prue character being interested in Photography, at all. That the whole Photography plot just falls flat. The interesting thing about Prue was taken away. I REALLY admired the historical knowledge Prue. I wish that gift of her's still remained even after Buckland's, but that went away after she quit. You can make this gift work without the AH if you must, but the show didn't even go there. The things I love about Prue is instantly gone, as soon as S2 begins and all hope is lost, after she quits Bucklands.
Like I said, S3 brought that bossy Prue back but still sidelined her. Now, I have to say one thing, your avatar is my FAVORITE Prue ever! I will DIE on the hill that S3E9 "Coyote Piper" is the BEST Prue, EVER! If Prue could've been like that, the WHOLE time, she'd instantly be my favorite character, easily! Unfortunately, it's only in one episode T_T

Like I said, S3 brought that bossy Prue back but still sidelined her. Prue's historical knowledge should've been used more I agree. I mean, even in demonic situations, she could have some knowledge that can translate to help.
Photography plot really went nowhere. The craze died so quickly. May as well have let Prue do it as a hobby, until she found a full-time job in S3. Her photography was barely even used in S3 at all, other than one or two episodes reminding us she still has a full time job.
I will DIE on the hill that S3E9 "Coyote Piper" is the BEST Prue, EVER! If Prue could've been like that, the WHOLE time, she'd instantly be my favorite character, easily! Unfortunately, it's only in one episode T_T Quick Prue fans someone go cast a memory loss spell to make Aaeiyn instantly lose her memory of S1-S3, except for that one episode, then she'll instantly become a Prue die hard fan.

I will DIE on the hill that S3E9 "Coyote Piper" is the BEST Prue, EVER! If Prue could've been like that, the WHOLE time, she'd instantly be my favorite character, easily! Unfortunately, it's only in one episode T_T Well, she kinda is. Let’s be honest. lol. I think that Prue only really existed in the first half of S1 and then she sort of relaxed, got less rigid and slowly accepted magic and her destiny as a Charmed One. I don’t necessarily think her character development was actually bad and thought it was actually really positive. You actually see moments of Prue being bossy in S2 as well as S3 but it isn’t overwhelming like the first half of S1. I actually don’t consider Prue to be passive or boring in S2 at all. But that could be different perceptions that we have. I do find the Photographer storyline to be odd and out of nowhere, I totally agree but it is somewhat explained. I would have preferred Prue to continue using her historical knowledge but they just decided to not go down that root. When she quits her job at Bucklands she explains that life is short and she doesn’t want to be working for a job that she doesn’t care or isn’t passionate about. So she likely lost her passion for her job and that is fine, a lot of people have multiple careers changes. I love this particular Prue as well, but for me, I think she is shown here and there throughout the series. But that is just me. lol.
