Shannen was so excited to have Ellen taste those sandwiches. I’m not sure if I’d like them either ;P But I’d try them for her and her mom. Maybe I’d be surprised? 😊 So cute when they bring her mother out.

Help me out here, what are these sandwiches called? I've re-watched the moment where she says the name several times but I don't understand what she's saying. "Something" ham sandwiches?? I wanted to google what's in them but when googling for Southern ham sandwiches only recipes for normal ham/cheese sandwiches come up.

So the opening clip they showed before she came out was from She’s A Man, Baby, A Man? I’m surprised of all the clips they could have chosen, this is the one they showed. Though I’ve always wondered for this episode (and maybe this is a stupid question, like it should be an obvious answer or something, please forgive me)... Did they edit her voice the entire time to make her sound more like a guy? Or did she actually try to make her voice deeper, kind of like how Rose changed her voice up when she was the Evil Enchantress? I feel some scenes feel like her voice was edited, others feel like it was Shannen really changing her voice up to speak lower. Lol, I want to know the answer to this one.

That's actually a really good question, I've wondered about it too. Would be a good question for a Q&A panel.

I love how she wasn’t supposed to reveal her new power, but she did it anyway 😊 I can’t believe the producers described her astral projection power this way (or, maybe I shouldn’t be surprised lol?). Why do I feel I’m never going to be able to see this power the same way again? xD

I am not surprised with what I've learned about Kern, recently. After seeing the interview I payed special attention to it and yeah, you could maybe see it that way (especially the first few times where she astral-projects), but no, not really. I wonder how many people saw the Zen moment and then got their hopes up high and then where disappointed when they saw the actual power on the show

I’ve got some videos coming, I promise! I’m trying to find one that was such an adorable clip with her and some fans. It was a really short clip, and now I can’t find it! I don’t know why I didn’t save it to any of my playlists... I’m going to be disappearing down the rabbit hole on YouTube for a while as I search for it lol.

So, deviled ham sandwiches it is 😊

Those seem like some really interesting ingredients to mix together... Not sure how I’m feeling about it still. An acquired taste, I suppose ;P

shandofan: That's actually a really good question, I've wondered about it too. Would be a good question for a Q&A panel.

I have researched this episode before and cannot find the answer about Shannen’s voice. The Charmed Wiki has behind the scenes photos of her in the makeup chair for becoming "Manny" but nothing else about whether she’d practiced and did the deeper voice herself or not. I believe it’s possible it was a mix of both: Her voice may have been edited but at other times it may have just been her talking in a lower tone.

When Prue is first turned into a guy, where Phoebe is like, "I didn’t burn. I’m okay." and then Prue responds with, "I’m not", Shannen’s voice sounds totally edited to me. But later, when she’s (as Manny) talking with Alan at P3, it actually kind of sounds like Shannen to me (with the deeper voice, obviously) without editing (or, at least, with little editing). Even when she is talking with her sisters later in the attic towards the end of the episode. I actually like this episode (Prue as Manny makes me laugh and I just love the ending with the sisters dancing to the Cranberries) and have watched it several times and I’m always left wondering whether Shannen practiced changing her voice specifically for this one.

If anyone reading this knows the answer, please let me know!

Random Side Note About This Episode: With the P3 scene with Prue/Manny and Alan talking... When they start to talk and Prue takes a drink, she like coughs/chokes a little on her drink and I just find this kind of cute. I don't think it was scripted, it just kind of happened as the scene was filming, and they kept it in.

Yeah, me neither with the whole Kern thing. With our latest board rewatch of Hell Hath No Fury, I really don’t like what they did with Paige’s personal gain/spell backfire in this one. I find insulting and it completely unnecessary, and why not do something like we saw with Phoebe in I’ve Got You Under My Skin with the lottery ticket? Apparently, it was supposed to be a nod to how her character, Tatum Riley, dies in Scream (I’ve only seen the opening scene to this movie, but I do know how she dies). Nod to a former movie or not, I just don’t find it funny. I imagine Rose probably felt uncomfortable with this, too.

Lol, I wonder ;P With Prue’s astral projection though... I’d always kind of wanted her to teleport at some point? Use her mind to move herself from one place to another? I suppose this would be too similar to orbing, though. But then again, shimmering and blinking are kind of similar to orbing, so they'd just have to change the effect up if Prue's powers had ever grown to her teleporting ;P

Another random side note because I’ve been so stuck on this since I joined the Café in the summer... How did you quote multiple phrases in my single post AND have the avatar & timestamp still display? Like how it shows in your responses to me? Are you able to quote a person’s single post multiple times in a reply?

I for the life of me cannot figure this out. I can get the first one to show up with the avatar and timestamp displayed when I quote a person’s post, but then I have to copy paste any other specific parts of the post I want to talk about into quote boxes, and these just show the text without the avatar showing up (as you can see above). If I attempt to copy the avatar and timestamp over, it just shows up as "shandofan Avatar" (not the actual image of your avatar) with the timestamp.

I don’t know if I’ve described this well at all. It’s kind of hard to describe lol. If I’ve made any sense, can you help?

Thank you! I also googled "Deviled Ham Sandwiches" now, and what I found looks interesting, but seems there are so many different recipes. Some pictures look really good, but nothing looks like what Ellen described ("soup in a sandwhich"). Anyway, I might try something like that out sometime, I love to try out new sandwiches.

so what you need to do is instead of editing in the "Preview Tab", you switch to the "BBCode" tab. There you will see that a quote is structured like this:

You can break now break up the quote in any fashion you like. The part of the quote tag contains a reference to the author, timestamp and original post, so if you want to preserve that when breaking up the quote, you copy that. So, breaking up above's example into two quotes would look like this:

Exactly. There is no reason something else couldn’t have been done to show Paige the consequences for using magic for personal gain.

I'm not too keen on the whole teleporting/shimmering/orbing/blinking powers, because they make everything too easy sometimes. Also it makes warlocks and demons super dangerous, I wonder why no demon/warlock ever blinked/shimmered into the manor and killed the sisters in their sleep? Wouldn't be so difficult. Either way, I would have prefered if there had been fewer creatures with such powers.

Lol, so true! Like the Charmed Ones could have been defeated so easily then. I wouldn’t have minded if the sisters just had their original powers and we saw those powers grow throughout the show (like we saw in Morality Bites) rather than them getting a multitude of powers. And the whole shifting on when Leo could and couldn’t heal... I really like the idea that he could only heal if it was meant to be. That made things too easy later on when it seemed like he could heal whenever or whatever, and I feel like it gave death less consequence in a way because the sisters could rely on Leo to heal them if it came down to that.
