In my opinion I think they should have waited until about season 7 or 8 to introduce children onto the show. I feel Like introducing them into season 5 was a bit too early and I feel like it took the show into a different direction and just became about Wyatt and his future.
I understand they wanted to show how Piper & Leo’s relationship would have deepened and would want to have children but I wish they just kept it for the later seasons.
What do you guys think?
I think it became less serious ( with Wyatt and his magic and is apparent a fantastic marriage counsellor considering how many times he has solved his parents problems before the age of actually forming words) I feel it made it a joke.
Let me know what you think.

I'll go a step back. I wished they didn't marry Piper and Leo off in S3. I wished they left that for another season or two. Piper and Leo just got back together near the end of S2.
I'd have rather they done S3 with Leo still taken away, but kept him gone longer through season 3. Have them figure out how to make it work, once Leo is brought back by the Elders. I'd also wished their marriage and Leo's proposal was truly a romantic moment, not to just be a solution. I hated that they only decided to get married both because of the future, and Piper was right, Marriage shouldn't be a solution to a problem or a band-aid, it's supposed to be about love and about two people who love each other so much they want to spend the rest of their lives together.
I'd have left them getting married until season 4 or 5. Maybe have Leo propose to Piper at the end of Witch Way Now and season 4 over Piper finding out she's pregnant. I'd also have Piper giving birth to her and Leo's first child at the end of season 6, or 7. Personally if it was the last episode, that would be even better.

I also think they should have waited to introduce children, as well as a lot of other things. There's no need to rush things in my opinion.
For Piper and Leo, it's like Sasha said. Those two only got back together near the end of season 2, and then were married about a year later. They hadn't even spent that much time together as a couple before being engaged, and a lot of that was back in season 1 when Piper didn't know who Leo really was. I'd like if they were simply dating until the end of at least season 4, and then have season 5 be about getting engaged and prepping for the wedding. Then they are just married for at least a season with no mention of having kids. Then in season 7 or 8, they could have a baby.
I also wish that having kids, if they still took it in the same direction of the kids being very powerful, meant that Charmed ended and a spinoff was created instead. Then each generation gets their own show without overshadowing the other.
If the kids aren't powerful or have their powers bound, I don't mind them being a part of the show, but only if it doesn't change as much as it did. For instance, I could see Charmed continuing if Phoebe still had her baby at some point in season 5, only they bound the baby's powers.

Yeah, I agree. When Piper finally accepts that Leo isn’t coming back and it’s for the greater food ( Season Three. Once upon a time) and it’s a great moment for her. Some fantastic character development and then she is given back Leo right away. It takes away from the scene and we should have had season three without Leo ( in a couple of episodes near the end) but Piper would have time to find other romantic partners or just have more time for herself.
I do like Leo and Piper together but I do think they got together way too soon.
The children confuse me because does this mean that the power of three ends with the sisters or does it pass down to their children? But which children are the chosen ones? Or are they just really strong witches who fight demons but don’t have a legacy to fulfil?

Then each generation gets their own show without overshadowing the other. The Charmed Sons was a popular concept and there were petitions and call outs for a spin off of the boys after S6/Chris-Crossed.

I agree completely with what all of you have said. I think the problem was, Piper and Leo's love story was already fulfilled by S5. They had no goals, or things to strive for. They already basically had their endgame in S5.
I think their story would have been much more rewarding, if they got married much later and had their first child much later.
I really think they did get together too soon. I personally would not have had Leo returned to Piper almost immediately. It would be quite fun if this is when Natalie was brought in as the sisters temporary whitelighter. Then maybe Leo could resurface and come back later like in S4.
I agree totally, louislemo. Piper had amazing character development in that moment, I was so proud of her. But then they just gave Leo back straight away.
Piper and Leo truly needed to have a full season or two of solid dating. Getting to know each other. I still hate how their marriage arc played out.
But as Elle Em pointed out, Maybe Phoebe still had her baby at some point in season 5. Only they bound the baby's powers. This would add a new dynamic into the Halliwell Manor, with Piper and Paige helping Phoebe raise her baby as a single mother (of course Cole would be dead). But if only they don't make her baby the twiced blessed child. They don't need to be powerful, but some new changes to the household, without making the kids so powerful and stealing attention off the sisters. Now, if they were powerful, then let that be part of a spin-off, but not on Charmed, one starring the Charmed Ones.
