Why bother? Also Piper is the heart of the show

I do have some issues with season 8 & I do have some parts of the season I really like but as I’ve grown up and found out about charmed and seen how the actors have spoken about Charmed after the years.

I’ve come to the conclusion that Holly loves Charmed the most and therefore I’m not as angry as others are about how the last episode focuses mostly on her. Piper has always been my favourite but it has always felt like her show to me.

Especially with how Alyssa and Rose weren’t even hardy there for the last episode due to other reasons. It does make me wonder why they even did a season eight if they weren’t going to give it their all.

They introduced Billie so that new people might be interested in the show but ended up annoying it’s core audience but apparently they introduced Billie so that the actresses wouldn’t have to be on set for too long and this does leave a bad taste in my mouth because why bother doing it if you’re not going to give it your all?

So, that’s why I don’t mind the last episode being Piper centric because she’s always felt like the heart/core of the series for me.

I always just assumed it was to give back to the fans of the show, even if they're tired of the series. At the very least, IK both Holly and Alyssa do interact with their fans and try to give back as much as possible. Though, I've seen Holly (the most), along with Brian, at a lot of these Charmed conventions. Whenever, Alyssa talks about Charmed, that's about it, she talks about it, whenever a fan or interviewer asks.

With Rose, she had a signed contract. But, I have seen Rose interact with other members of the show, whether it's positive or negative. Even though, she hates Alyssa she still interacts with her (mostly just to argue). Rose may not want to act, anymore, but she is open to directing, at least...that's what she told Holly, during one of their video call sessions. And, I did see Rose on a Charmed panel, with Holly, Brian and Drew, and she seems to get along fine with them. I do think Rose has no issues against Shannen, either. They may not interact, but Rose has said nothing but kind words about Shannen.

And, Shannen would give back to the fans, for anything Charmed related, if the opportunity arises. I remember seeing her at a convention with Holly, Brian, Drew, Wes and Dorian, once. At the very least, she has been seen doing Charmed Conventions moreso than even Rose.

I have yet to see Alyssa join in on any of these conventions, but I do know she does still talk with Holly, as both of them have said so. And, according to Holly, Alyssa is up for getting a Charmed reunion, together, but it'll be rough, as only Rose has deep disdain for Alyssa.

All and all, all of them do realize in giving back to their supporters which is why Rose gave in, in (at least) being a part of it but more behind-the-scenes, rather than in front of it. It seems the same rings true for Shannen, as well, at least, according to Holly. 'Cause Holly says directing is Shannen's thing, but I have seen Shannen still acting, to this day, so who knows? Maybe Shannen will be in front of the camera lol

I would love for a reunion series but I just can’t never see that happen which sucks considering we live in the time of the reboot years. I think it would be so awkward if they were to get back on screen because it would be scrutinised by everyone and especially the press.

I don’t understand why Rose & Alyssa don’t get along cos I remember when Rose got engaged and she and Alyssa tweeted each other and it seemed super friendly. So, I can’t help but think that maybe it’s because of after Rose revealed what had happened to her that’s when Alyssa started the movement and maybe that’s why? Maybe Rose thought she was trying to insert herself? But I wouldn’t like to speculate about that and I don’t like to think such things because it’s such an important movement but that’s when Rose started saying things about Alyssa. - I don’t know for certain of course but that’s when it all started off imo

I don't see a reunion series or movie happening. The time has sadly passed. Rose and Alyssa are beyond repair. Alyssa even stated recently, that they won't have a reunion, after what Rose said about her in public.

But, I don't even think it was ever happening, even if they got along. Rose hates Hollywood and quit acting. I think she's kinda over it. Maybe directing.

Alyssa hasn't done any conventions at all as far as I know. But she's a very busy lady with lots of acting and her activism. She probably just has no time to do those. Shannen did plenty of cons years back pre-cancer. It is understandable she'd rather spend more time acting and then spending time with her family these days than attend cons, with her cancer.


And with the current times. I truly don't see it. I feel the show would get SO MUCH backlash for bringing back an old show with three white women. After how progressive want Hollywood these days.

Honestly, if they did eventually get something made one day, It will likely be a next-generation series with the kids. Bu that point Holly, Alyssa and the cast would be in their 50s or 60s. Perhaps they'd even just kill off Paige, so Rose won't even need to be part of it, due to her feud with Alyssa and quiting acting.

It's why I'd prefer an animated series, as its much easier to get all the cast on board, who won't need to interact to record voices. And it has more freedom to be set in any time period they wish.

Yeah I do think Holly Marie Combs really carried the show after Shannen's departure and also Julian's (he was great too) and esp after Alyssa Milano's character changed and Rose felt like a fill in.

So i don't really mind Forever Charmed being about her. She was the most relatable and also it was her Beverley Hills, Who's the Boss or M.Manson I guess. That's what she would have been remembered for.

Also the focus they put on her character from the start because the exec's doubted her star power. Kinda of funny because it was star power that tore the show apart.

I think my fascination with Charmed is that it reminds me that good things dont last forever. BUT its really about how you survive or come out of crappy situations. And with HMC, it felt like she put her whole self into it and the character of Piper was the least destroyed I supposed even though she became really annoying towards the end.

Im opposed to a reunion now. I would only really endorse a spin off with maybe Holly Marie Combs and Alyssa Milano living together with maybe Brian Krause and their kids all grown up and guest stars.

I think Billie could have worked. I also think it would have been cool if it was discovered that she was connected to them somehow - like her sister was the woman who died at the beginning of the first episode, or that she was Phoebe's kid caught in a time loop or that things were being passed on to her and Paige while Piper and Phoebe moved away from magic.

I think Charmed really makes me think of complacency when you have a good thing going. And sort of riding the wave of popularity you have that eats away are your credibility.

Its a shame because the show could have been so much better, even with the set backs they endured. The lesson for me is resilience and that ultimately good things dont last forever!

You're right that when Patty told Piper on her wedding day that she was the heart of the family, that, yes, she was.

But after Prue died and Piper had to step in her shoes, the heart of the family became cold and hard and self-centered and sometimes cruel. It's one of the main reasons why I wish that the last part WASN'T Piper-centric and wish S4-8 wasn't the alternate-universe spin-off, "The Perils of Poor, Poor Pitiful Piper". I especially couldn't stand how she treated Leo in S8, just using him, never loving him. And then she had the NERVE to try to pretend that she was Princess Lea to his Han Solo! NO WAY! She so did not deserve to get him back, the way she DID deserve it back in S3.

An animated series really would be best. Then they could have them be whatever age they wanted them to be, have friends who weren't all white and straight, and they could probably find an actress who sounds enough like Rose that she could play Paige. I would love to see something like that.
