I always thought he was a better whitelighter to Phoebe. By the time Paige came along he was already turning into Piper's magical doctor/taxicab because she blamed him for saving her rather than Prue. So he was never as good of a whitelighter to Paige as he was to the Halliwells, especially Phoebe who needed him as a whitelighter more than the others.

This is entirely too true. I absolutely despise Leo as a whitelighter. The sister's always have to shout his name multiple times, and when he does orb in, it's a "What? What's the problem?" or "What? What do you need now?", like excuse me, what if there was impending danger sir?
Also, his little trip to the Elder's always takes hours upon hours, and when he returns, he tells the sisters information they already found out.
He also likes to get a bit snippy when the sisters ask why his healing takes a while. "She almost died, that's what's taking so long." Like okay, do you not want them to go up against demons?

The reason it took Leo so long to get information up there is that time moved slower so once he got back a few hours had passed like when Piper and him went to Elderland at the end of season two and a month had passed when they got back again.

I still think of the Charmed Ones, he was the best whitelighter to Phoebe - that Paige was the best whitelighter to her sisters and to him - but not as much as he was to their innocents - like he and Piper say at one point - just doing his job. I knew what they meant, and if I had to pick one of the sisters that Leo was a "better whitelighter to", then I'll say it's a tie between Phoebe & Paige. But, I'll pick Phoebe just because she's been around longer than Paige. I just know Leo was really involved with Max & his father from S1E14 "Secrets & Guys", Daisy from S1E21 "Love Hurts", Maria from S4E17 "Saving Private Leo", Melissa from S5E4 "Siren Song", etc. |

Picking between the sisters, he was truly the best with Phoebe and Paige. I picked Phoebe, both because of their long history. I'm reminded of the many interactions Leo and Phoebe had. They really worked well together, and Phoebe most times listened to his words of wisdom. LOL, Alyssa and Brian had the best chemistry. But of course, they did date in real life. I think Leo was wonderful to his other charges too. After re-watching Saving Private Leo with Maria. But Phoebe got my vote.  |

I also voted for Phoebe though it was hard to choose between her and his other charges one because like others here have already said they had a long history and good chemistry together and she normally took whatever advice he gave before Cole stepped in.
Prue on the other hand was a bit hotheaded I think and didn't always listen to Leo then.
Piper was too vested as his wife meaning there were times when Leo treated her as that and not his charge which he should've done when the sisters were on a job perhaps.
Other than that he was good with people like Maria and getting her to stay a teacher and calm down one of her students from stabbing her with a knife even though Rick and Nathan killed her afterward, unfortunately.
It's a shame we never saw more moments like that with other charges making cameo appearances the little they did.
The sisters really didn't need Leo for information but more healing than anything as they could've gotten the first from libraries, newspapers, internet, or other ways like word of mouth from Darryl or other witch covens naturally then used Leo lastly if no info was available obviously.

Definitely Paige and Phoebe. I don't know if that was intentional because they were the youngest and maybe needed more guidance

I often wish that Phoebe had been matched with Leo rather than Piper, with Piper the one who never got married and never had kids - let P3 be her baby. I think Phoebe would've loved Leo as a whitelighter and let him continue his destiny and he'd never have to give up his powers. I'd especially like that if since he's technically dead, so is his sperm so he and Phoebe would never have kids, which also means Paige wouldn't be a half-whitelighter. I'd love if Prue was pregnant with Andy's baby and had it in S2 so Piper and Phoebe would still have their niece to remind them of Prue after Prue died. Or if she had Bane's baby - yes, I think I'd like that even more! Best of all, if Phoebe was married to Leo, she'd never become PhoeME/Freebie! |
