Just rewatching this episode...
I think its horrible that they kidnapped their kid selves.
Imagine the grief that Grams (who had a heart problem) and Patty would have gone through.
If Future Chris did that to himself without Piper knowing who he was she would go crazy. Also the kids are safe at the manor.
They were more concerned about not giving their identities away at the cafe than the risk to their younger selves.
There was also no Power of Three yet without Patty.
Made me look differently about this episode.

I've never been a fan of this episode. The kidnapping is ridiculous. The time-traveling is ridiculous. The theatrics is ridiculous. This entire episode could've been avoided after Phoebe low kicked Nicolas to the ground, and all they had to do was remove his ring, from his finger. Exactly how human Cole removed the ring, from the warlock, in S4E9 "Muse to My Ears" and BAM! They can use their powers on Nicolas! No need to time-travel, kidnap nor be dramatic. Then again, we wouldn't have this episode, if it were that simple ;P

Then again, we wouldn't have this episode, if it were that simple ;P By comparison for a family history, the Witch Is Back episode is probably better. It does explain the reason why they didn't have their powers when they were little which is a bonus and needed to come out somehow. Its a bit of a soppy episode. I still like it but after doing a rewatch of the remastered episodes of Season 1 - I think there are a few better episodes that proceed it. |
