For those who don't know, Granny Charmed lives in Sydney, Australia with her daughter and granddaughter. We've nicknamed them Granny Charmed (abbreviated GC), Daughter Charmed (DC) and Granddaughter Charmed (GDC) and call them our Charmed Family.
Last May, I got this PM from them:
The weather is much better (although we got warned its a matter of when not if this could happen again with flooding). But now everyone mostly is getting repairs and going through claims to get repairs or build a whole new home. The goverment has urged those that are rebuilding to buy flood-prone homes.
But I have some devasting news. GC's sister lost her home during the floods (as did some close friends of ours). When we got back to our house, we found serious damage, but the house is still standing (the bottom level of our house is where its serious damaged very bad, the good news, the top floor with our bedrooms are okay, so we didn't lose our most treasued valables.). So we're in the process of dealing with getting our disaster recovery check and helping GC's sister through a difficult time.
All of us are staying at GC's other sisters house. To top off the bad news, one of DC's co-workersis no longer working due to being diagnosed with cancer, so DC is both sad and stressed at work.
So we'll be gone away for a bit longer as we deal with that. The good news, is that if we still are busy with fixing the damages done due to the floods by July. Our extended family know all about our staycation chats or birthday chat that we do in July. That if we're still staying there around your birthday week, we can do it. Of course that is still a while off, but we brought it up now to them, so they know.
Mothers Day today for us in Australia (not sure if it is the same in America this weekend). To treat us all and put a smile on everybodys faces, I made reservations at a restaurant in the private VIP area for our family and extended family.
Then today, I got this one:
WE'RE FINALLY HOME!!!
After such a long time away. We're settling in.
But of course, it's too good to be true. Because now our internet and landline connections are not working at all.
They have to virtually go underground and rewire and fix the cables. And that takes time. Not a simple fix.
But, we're home. So where that much closer to returning to the boards and especially our Team Charmed Cafe family.
The S4 re-watch is nearly over. I do hope we'll be able to catch up. I know we did some of the earlier ones and then I went to a Cafe to post them. But we've been so busy lately that we have fallen well behind again.
But I couldn't resist sharing the news with you Es at this Cafe this morning. Go ahead and share this with everyone.
